God, that was heartbreaking. I was almost sobbing right along with Lisbon. Every word packed a punch. I do wish the episodes had handled it a little more like this. I thought some of the scenes we got were just a little too subtle. What an amazing job you did with this!

Lol, I can see what you meant by not planning the fic to go where it did. I certainly never saw that ending coming. And the "it was still the only thing I had" line, boy that just tore me up! While this encore season hasn't been very fulfilling, for me at least, I'm still hopeful for a proper resolution over the final episodes. We shall see! Thanks for such a lovely and surprising fic.

Well, that's certainly one way to solve the problem! :) Beautifully written as always. I especially liked the line about Jane wanting to be in control more than he wanted to be happy. I hope the show wraps up their disagreement as neatly as this!

There are many different views about what exactly was going on in the final scene. Your view is very close to mine. At first I was too shocked, but after I calmed down I too don't think it was a breakup. He never said that it was over or anything like that, he kissed her and asked her if she wanted to come with him. Of course leaving her there was not the best thing to do, but to be honest? My head-canon (till the next Episode tells me otherwise) is that she immediately followed him and they went "someplace nice" together to work this out properly.
That being said, I liked your Story, but it's not my favourite. I liked the way you dealt with Lisbon's pain (because I can see her thinking it was a breakup at first even though I'm 100% sure it wasn't), but what I liked way more was him comforting her.
What I didn't like was that she blamed it all on him (at least it looked like that to me). Yes, he walked away, but so far, she's done nothing to show she understands his pain. Both are right and both are wrong in this situation and they need to work it out TOGETHER (which I'm sure they will do). You are right, she shouldn't give up her Job because of a demand, but I believe she'll quit because she wants to. She's a cop, yes. But she can do other things and I'm sure that they'll both decide to leave together in the end. If not, your compromise would work well.

The "I'm pregnant" was very cute. I don't think it'll happen like that on the show, but it was still cute and I loved his joy. I totally see them being parents before the show ends (or at least that they'll show us she's pregnant - at least I hope so), because both would be amazing parents and it would make them so happy.

I didn't have a chance to review this properly earlier, but just wanted to let you know what an awesome tag this is. Lovely dialogue, and it brings to life my idea of how they will end up "compromising." I really do think a pregnancy might be the only way she will leave the FBI (or as you nicely arranged, a less dangerous position there).
