The team are reaquainted with Walter Mashburn, as someone is intent on sabotaging his new business venture and the SCU are called in to investigate. A case fiction that precedes events of Red Hot. Although this is set in S3, for the purposes of the story, I'm assuming present day legislation and technology apply.

Jane and Lisbon are in love. While working together at the FBI, Jane rebuilds his run-down cabin by the lake. He is planning ask Teresa a big question, but before he can, a tragedy sweeps him away from her. Will he be able to find his way back to her before time runs out for him?

Sometimes you simply don't want to admit that what you've been looking for has always been right there, in front of you. Maybe you think that's not what you really want, but in the end you'll realise it's just everything you need.

He points a finger at me and looks me up and down. "I'm guessing black dress, fitting, but not too tight. No heels." He shakes his head with mock disapproval. "It's a shame, you'd look better in green." He walks towards the elevator then spins around and grins at me. "And heels." *** Takes place after 6x09, from there I've mostly veered off from canon into my own take on Jisbon.

She wasn't supposed to stir these feelings in him. It wasn't supposed to turn out this way. He was supposed to suffer. He was supposed to remember the guilt and the sorrow he inflicted on himself and his family. But she is. Lisbon is stirring up thoughts he hadn't had about a woman in years. Can he move on? Set Post-Season Six. "Lisbon knew that she could never force Jane to talk about his past, not when it was clearly a sore point for him for all manner of reasons, but she couldn't deny the fact that it would hurt her irrevocably if he chose to run from this conversation now."

AU to 6x06 "Fire and Brimstone". Jane's car dies on the road before he has a chance to leave Lisbon stranded – and it doesn't take much time before they find themselves on the run, thrown in the midst of murder attempts and conspiracies as they attempt to find and defeat Red John.

A dead sheriff, a chest full of knives and an evasive Jane - an initially ordinary case turns into a nightmare. Ongoing multichapter, set during early season 6.

The deteriorating relationship between Jane and Lisbon after Orchid Lane causes Lisbon to follow a dangerous path. Roughly set late S5/early S6. The story diverges from canon but will use some of the canon storylines as a prop. Some violence towards the end of the story.

A tough four days. Main focus is Jane's POV, but alternate chapters will be from Lisbon's POV. / I do not own The Mentalist and reap no economic benefits from this story.

After 3 years apart, Lisbon comes back into Jane's life with a personal request. This simple request will send them on a race against a maniacal convict with a personal and dangerous attentiveness toward Lisbon, and have Jane and Lisbon revisit their complex relationship with each other to see what went wrong and how to move on together. "The last of the sun's rays disappear from the window, bathing Jane and Lisbon in half-light. She scrutinizes him, trying to read him, but he shuts her out - the very last thing he needs right now is for Lisbon to know what he's truly thinking. He loves her. AU where Jane and Lisbon have yet to meet. She works for the CBI, he runs a diner. A brief crossing of paths on Christmas Eve leads to love as his mother attempts to act as matchmaker. A short story set in the current economic climate, around the time of late Series 6. Jane and Lisbon are increasingly estranged, it would take a major incident to turn things around.

A few weeks after "White Lines" (6x11). Jane and Lisbon are still adjusting to their new jobs and to working with each other again, when suddenly everything turns upside down. Faced with her career, her freedom and even her life at risk, Lisbon has to outsmart an old adversary, whilst the system she used to believe in turns against her.

"'I was just looking out for my teammates,' he says quietly. 'That is what we are, right? A team,' he clarifies. Agent Lisbon smiles again, and it suddenly occurs to Jane that she is beautiful. Not like Angela had been. Rougher, sharper, somehow…but still beautiful. 'Yes,' she says finally. 'A team.'" Pre-series oneshot.

Set post Scarlet Ribbons, Jane and Lisbon are battling malign forces within law enforcement and the outside world with help from some familiar characters.

Going 'way back to the first season of The Mentalist, I loved the Bloodshot episode. I thought there was a lot of room in that episode to further explore how Jane's sudden blindness affected him. We only saw his brave front in front of Lisbon and Cho for a short time in the hospital. Here is my attempt to fill in more details of that difficult time for him in the hospital.

The sequel to Arctic Wonderland. Red John's back. He's taken Lisbon. He's taken Lisbon, who's pregnant with Jane's child. How far is Jane going to go to get her back? How far is Jane going to go to make sure she's safe in his arms again?

Lisbon goes missing. When Jane and the team find her they are faced with a shocking discovery of what has happened to her during the missing month, leaving both she and Jane disoriented. Patrick and Teresa just need to get away for a few days. They set out in the Airstream to find a relaxing spot to unwind after their whirlwind engagement and then, marriage. They never do get to have that holiday. Someone decides to change their plans, with devastating results. Can they survive their deranged captors?

AU: Jane and Lisbon met in San Francisco and had a brief affair. Now six years later they meet up again at the CBI and are still facing the consequences of their actions. Eventual Jisbon

The rational thing to do—the safe thing to do—would be to walk away from Jane as though this moment had never happened. The stakes were already high enough now with Red John so close, and tensions were escalating between them both.
