Author has written 32 stories for Harry Potter, Leverage, Sherlock, and Greek Mythology. Greetings to the Denizens of FanFiction Presumably this is the place where I ought to introduce myself. My name's Leigha Greene (no, not really, who uses their own name as their username?). I'm always thrown for a loop when trying to complete profile blurbs like this one, mostly because I overthink simple questions like "Who are you?" Until recently, I was a graduate student in anthropology (specifically bioarchaeology). Now I'm working full time (in a field that has nothing to do with my degrees), which sadly leaves little time to write. I am still writing, just... slowly. My sincerest apologies to everyone who is waiting for updates. What I read: I mostly read Harry Potter and Leverage fics. I used to read more Sherlock, but I was very disappointed by the last episode of the latest series, which rather turned me off to the whole fandom. In Harry Potter, I'm a big fan of Hermione, though Snape is easily my second-favorite character in fanfiction. I read a lot of time travel fics. In Leverage, I'm head over heels in love with Parker, because she is adorable, and also dangerous. My headcanon is that she is much less innocent than she generally acts, so sociopath!Parker is always fun. I think shorter fics tend to be better for TV shows, so I mostly read one-shots in this fandom. I've noticed I tend to favorite a lot of crack-fic, but really about half the stories I favorite came up with good or novel solutions to problems and plot holes in canon. What I write: --I've mostly been working on my Mary Potter series since August 2015 (it seems like MUCH longer). It's intended as a single-point-of-divergence with a female!Harry. This means that things increasingly diverge from canon over time, starting with the Dursleys (yes, it's a massive re-write, no, it doesn't all stick to canon as closely as book 1 chapter 2). The themes I'm focusing on so far for the series are mostly cause and effect and unreliable narration, meaning anything that Harry didn't witness in canon is possible, as long as it does not conflict with what we do see in the books, and I assume people occasionally lied to Harry, either deliberately misinforming him, or out of their own ignorance. I consider the books canon, and occasionally refer to the movies or Harry Potter wikia for details, but there are only so many hours in a day, so I don't follow Pottermore or any other sources closely enough to successfully incorporate their details into my headcanon. I am currently working on book 3. Part of the process of writing Book 3 has been taking a closer look at Voldemort's First War and the relationships between the Marauders, Lily, and their Slytherin counterparts. Roughly chronologically, these are: Coming of Age in the House of Black - major turning points in the lives of Bellatrix, Andromeda, Narcissa, Sirius, and Regulus. Covers the entire span of the first war. See first chapter for warnings. An Intermediate Beginning - spoilers for an Heir of Slytherin plot twist Regulus' Assignment - Regulus turns Peter The Truth Is, It Wasn't Like That - Canon!Sirius reflects on James, Lily, and their war Scenes From a War: It Looks Like You Might Be One of Us - Lily Evans had secrets. Kind of a songfic, but I promise I didn't quote any lyrics directly. What's in a Name? - Lily and James are in a fight. Over the name of their unborn child. Relatively light character-building piece. May be re-written, as certain points are no longer congruent with ongoing character development in other places. The Changing of the Guardian - Switching the Fidelius to Peter; Peter's betrayal of the Potters Coda: Not the Time - 31 October 1981, Lily's POV Dreams of Hades - Severus Snape's dying dream interpretation of the war and the canon books I think there are some parts of the Mary Potter Year 4 Preview that have been ret-conned since I wrote it, as I've developed both Lily and Severus' characters more since then. Snape will probably choose to show Mary slightly different memories when that scene finally does roll around in the 4th book, and I'll delete it after the 'canon' version of the chapter is published. Other character development/behind the scenes shorts I've written include: The Night Before Christmas - Chained Servant Chapter 23, Tom Riddle POV scene A Good Deed Gone Unnoticed - WhiteMage!Oracle!Scrying!Luna does what she can to ensure that Magical Britain will survive the return of the Dark Lord (canon timeline) Invitation to Collaborate (NSFW) - Tomione smut. BDSM themes. Set in a putative MP Year 7. A Little Like This (Hermione's First Kiss) - Hermione/Weasley Twins fluff/humor. Canon for Mary Potter, though Mary doesn't know about it. Tea - Emma Granger and Narcissa Malfoy meet face to face and form an alliance of sorts. That Which Does Not Kill Us - CanonCompliant!Ginny prepares a leaving speech after returning to Hogwarts as Head Girl for her seventh year. Canon timeline Dear Tom - CanonCompliant!Ginny diary entry from the Hogwarts Occupation. Canon timeline Endings - CanonCompliant!Ginny character study, retrospective after the birth of James Sirius. Canon timeline, obviously Tom and Hermione's Excellent Vacation is a married!Tomione time travel fix-it AU of Mary Potter (set sometime around 2008) which is based in the characters' current characterization, with a decidedly crack-fic/humor bent that makes it NOT MP CANON. PDFs are available for all complete stories, including Mary Potter books 1 and 2; PM me with your email address if you would like a copy (but make sure to replace any symbols with words or spaces so this site doesn't censor it out). --Between Lives is my Harry Potter/Sherlock crossover. It takes place after the end of a slightly AU Harry Potter and will be ending after "The Final Problem" because I no longer have any desire to spend enough time with Sherlock canon to continue it. Sherlock and Hermione are distant, estranged cousins (Emma Granger is Sherlock's father's half-sister, in both this story and in Mary Potter, though it hardly comes into play in Mary Potter) who become flatmates (because Mycroft is paying Hermione's rent and tuition) and there is nothing romantic about their relationship. --Leverage Fics: Over the 2015-2016 winter hols, I binge-watched all of Leverage, couldn't stand for it to be over, and therefore wrote and published a couple of things before I considered that I still, actually, had three rather large works in progress. Oops. Before the Beginningis a brief prelude to the first episode, explaining why the four were recruited in the first place. is exactly what it sounds like: a tiny, pointless AU of a single episode. 2 AM Conversations is a chat between Parker and Eliot which takes place after the Big Bang Job. It was the forerunner to (More) 2 AM Conversations, and likely won't actually fit into that series very smoothly, as I think the characters might be a little too developed in other directions by then. Quite honestly, I started (More) 2 AM Conversations before I realized exactly how many episodes there were, and what a large undertaking writing a one-shot for every one would be. It's been long enough now that I think I'm going to have to do a re-watch before I can continue. *Headdesk* --Fall Back - 1940 (Taming the Serpent on AO3) is abandoned. It was the first fic I posted. It's Tom and Hermione in a sibling-esque relationship after a time travel mishap. I am posting the last few chapters and the outline for how it was supposed to end up TODAY, because it's time to admit that it's never going to be finished. IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO ADOPT THIS STORY please PM me. I may eventually re-write it to be compliant with the Mary Potter Multiverse, but I am never going to finish this story in this form. Apologies to its followers. I cross-post on AO3 under the same username, because I like their commenting system better. I keep reading here because I like the ability to track your readers and stalk them for recommendations via favorites-sections. I also hate the formatting on this site. I am willing to beta-read for content and grammar, and have a beta profile somewhere on this site with more details. As of 11 June 2016, it's been about fifteen months since I started writing, and I have written over 1 million words of fan fiction. (Not counting strictly world-building details and conversations in response to comments and beta-chats, only actual story words.) I've only published about 600k, but I just realized that I hit that milestone, and I'm a little blown away... o.0 Progress Update on Mary Potter 3 (3 Sept 17): A whole year after I was planning to be entirely done with this story, it's still growing (470 pages written, now), and progress has slowed, to be perfectly honest, to a crawl. Writer's block, plot bunnies, and real life commitments have conspired to destroy my momentum on the project. I am still working on it, but it's like pulling teeth. Thank you all for your patience. If anyone can think of anything else they'd like to know about me, PM me. L |
