Author has written 36 stories for Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Sherlock, Avatar: Last Airbender, Trollhunters, Artemis Fowl, Star Trek: 2009, Avengers, and Fran Bow. Rachelea: The Autobiography Well, the important stuff, anyway. I'm a female Aspie undergrad double-majoring in neuroscience and Russian. Art in the blood, as Conan Doyle said, is liable to take the strangest forms, and fanfic is my badly-needed right brain outlet. I keep it PG, as I'm a practicing Christian (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). I am probably not Sherlock Holmes, though I have been known to study chemistry, practice martial arts, play violin, conduct undergraduate research involving honeybees, and vanish into Eastern Europe for considerable amounts of time (not necessarily in that order). Mycroft's and Sherlock's brotherly relationship is emphasized in my writing, possibly because I too have a sibling intent on world domination. You have been warned. I love to read/watch anything clever, imaginative, lyrical, or thought-provoking. Shows: BBC Sherlock, ATLA, Over the Garden Wall, Dragon Prince, Hilda, Gravity Falls, Doctor Who Books: Fantasy such as Harry Potter, A Wrinkle In Time, Narnia, Ender's Game, LOTR, Artemis Fowl, Gregor the Overlander, Hunger Games, The Dark is Rising, and Brandon Sanderson novels. Nowadays I mainly read classic literature and obscure 20th century sci-fi. Shakespeare, Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, O. Henry, and Bradbury are among my favorites. Webcomics: XKCD, Ava's Demon, Paranatural, Lavender Jack, My Life as a Background Slytherin, Apocalyptic Horseplay, Lackadaisy, Sarah's Scribbles, Floccinaucinihilipilification, Strange Planet Music: Indie rock, celtic, classical, and movie soundtracks About my stories: If you like humor and angst and original story lines and want to know who would win in a chess match between Mycroft Holmes and Ron Weasley, you're in the right place. If you're looking for cliche, heavy romance, smut, slash, profanity, character bashing, Mary Sues, or timely updates, move on. I get drunk on the power of crossovers, mostly for the fun of predicting character interactions. I also write character studies, scenes that I think should have been included in canon, and occasionally crack. I write in both 3rd and 1st person POV. Occasionally I write light romance, but generally I steer clear (I'm aro/ace and prefer platonic friendships in literature as well as real life). I'm obsessed with philosophy, so watch out. I've matured since I first began to post. In the past I experimented a lot with style and wrote only when "in the zone". I'm developing the discipline to settle into a steadier technique. As fanfiction goes, this entails revamping, filling in gaps, and finishing WIPs. None of my projects are abandoned, but I work according to my own timeline. Eventually, I hope to write original fiction. Fanfic is useful for developing style and discipline and, of course, having fun. What else is relevant? Hmm. Sherlock/coat is my OTP, though I do approve of the canonical quasiromance with Molly. Crossovers: --"A Strange Sort of Fate": BBC Sherlock/HP Sherlock and John are wizards. You might find them a bit familiar, in fact. Dramatic things happen. Active WIP. My favorite fic. -- "Speaking of Serpents": BBC Sherlock/HP Sherlock is the Boy Who Lived, and all the major characters in the Sherlock and Harry Potter worlds will eventually find their way into it. Under current renovation to correct disjointed scenes. WIP --"Deductions and Dementors": BBC Sherlock/HP Slight AU in which John and Sherlock run across Harry Potter. Complete; may write a follow-up due to popularity. -- "Alias": BBC Sherlock/HP One of Sherlock's dark spells requires intervention. Mycroft provides it. John's life deteriorates into chasing a mass-murderer all over a lunatic castle, trying to avoid getting eaten by a giant squid, and generally worrying about Sherlock. Or whatever his name is now. WIP --"Well Worth Chronicling": BBC Sherlock/HP Long one-shot based off HermioneGirl96's "The Jumper Chronicles", but can stand alone. John Watson, otherwise known as Remus Lupin, is getting back to his own bizarre version of normal after his forced resignation from Hogwarts. Worried about Sherlock in the wake of a year of undercover work, he inadvertently introduces him to Severus Snape. (Essentially an excuse to write the world's two least likable men being bros.) Complete. --"The Looking Glass": BBC Sherlock/HP Muggle-born Andrea attempts to bury a dead father and traumatic past in her magical new life at Hogwarts. A generation after the Battle of Hogwarts, she isn't the only one trying to cope. My only story starring an OC. Includes familiar faces from both canons. Post-HP-storyline, explores the effects of war on the next generation. WIP --"Morte D'Arty": BBC Sherlock/Artemis Fowl Following the events of "The Last Guardian", a newly resurrected Artemis broods over the loss of his old life and memories, and vows to forge a new one. Sherlock Holmes, hot on the heels of the enigmatic Fairy Thief, finds himself face to face with a very different sort of criminal. WIP --"In Her Eyes": BBC Sherlock/Fran Bow crossover. Fran stumbles over a crime scene. Sherlock stumbles over a mystery. WIP --"The Dirge of Khan": BBC Sherlock/new generation Star Trek Khan reunites with the real John Harrison. BBC Sherlock: --"Chiaroscuro": In the aftermath of Magnussen's death and his own aborted exile, a few things need realigning in the mind palace of Sherlock Holmes. A heavy-handed character study, angst like whoa, but there's an actual plot. WIP; possibly a three-part. --"De la Lune" (Sherlock), "Water the Meadows" (Mycroft), "Danger Night" (John), "Engrave" (Dark!Sherlock) are character studies. --"Lemon Tea" (Molly), "Overdue" (Sally), "And Terrible" (Sherlock and John), and "Lost in Translation" (Lestrade and Sherlock) are missing scenes doubling as character studies --"Drafted" is a humorous literary AU. "Ghostly" is a post-Reichenbach AU that cannot possibly be explained. --"Ne'er A Villain", "The Great Game", "The Many Sherlocks of 221B" are crack. Harry Potter: --"Excalibur" (Ron) and "Mosaic" (Tom Riddle Jr.) are character studies. --"Awkward Reunions" -- post-Battle of Hogwarts fic (Harry and Dudley) --"In the Silent Chamber"-- Alternate scene from Chamber of Secrets (Harry and Ron) --"Lycanthropy and other personal problems" (Marauders) and "Granger Danger" (Hermione) are AUs. --"Culture Shock" is crack. Miscellaneous: -- "The Glory of the Elves"-- LOTR/Avengers crack --"How ALTA Should Have Ended" -- mostly ATLA crack --"Seared" -- an ATLA character study of Iroh and Zuko --"Live to Fight" and "Drawing Sparks" -- Trollhunter I've set up a few forums to discuss writing and my favorite fandoms. Feel free to comment. Thanks for reading. Rachelea Рейчелея |
