Reviews for High
Lost4theStars chapter 1 . 7/30/2017
Wonderful imagery, as always. A mix of powerful and entertaining, this fic is great. And I love the last sentence, I can just imagine Sherlock saying it in a low, threatening tone. "DON'T APPALL ME WHEN I'M HIGH."
Shadows Concealed In Darkness chapter 1 . 7/17/2014
Ho-Ly Shite. Just, yeah... high Sherlock happens to be very entertaining, even if it's bad for him. :/
'Oh, hello, John.' and
'Don't appall me when I'm HIGH.' are still two of my favorite quotes. X3 My, oh, my... Mycroft certainly got what was coming to him, didn't he? Ah, snow. To be bad there is no such thing in SoCal. :/

wow,the imagery you paint..
eldell chapter 1 . 3/11/2014
Interesting and a little unsettling.
Ennui Enigma chapter 1 . 2/20/2014
Utilised the elements of weather and seasons - sun, ice, winter, snow, etc. quite effectively to convey the more intangible elements of consciousness. Effective in this case.

"Pleasant surprise. A bright ray of gold-spun warmth to go along with the winter sunlight in his brain.
But John's golden glow turns quickly into a crackling lightning storm." - just one example of many of the word analogies that I appreciated in this chapter.
DianaThen chapter 1 . 1/31/2014
Fantastic. I'd comment that Sherlock seems more frustrated/distressed/angry here than I imagine he actually was, but there's no explicit reason why it wouldn't work so I'll just say "To each his own" and leave it at that. Sherlock acts remarkably like his normal self when he's high so this insight into his thoughts was very interesting.

Also. Request. Could you do a Sherlock character study on the pool scene at the end of TGG?
elbafo chapter 1 . 1/30/2014
Wonderful, Basser! You answered my question: cocaine or heroin.
I loved the italicised parts where his thoughts are voiced, and your clever Serbian winter imagery weaved throughout. Thank you for sharing this!
Thanangst chapter 1 . 1/26/2014
Oh, hot damn, this is incredibly good! Reading your work is like seeing the action on the telly screen, with the interior voices whispering in your ear...

You're a fine writer, and could easily go pro with your skill set and obviously brilliant mind. But not before you gift this fandom with many more Sherlock stories, please. Really. Just please...

And THANK YOU.
Doni chapter 1 . 1/25/2014
Nice touch.
ObservationofTrifles chapter 1 . 1/21/2014
Very emotionally written, but the end definitely makes it especially wonderful. I liked it quite a bit, great job. It was one of my favourite scenes in the series, and this story embodies what I think Sherlock felt like at that moment. Perfectly describes the mind of someone whose mind is on overdrive. Once again, great job.

Wow. Sits quietly. Wow.
neongrnlightning chapter 1 . 1/18/2014
Hahaha, YES! I can't believe it took me so long to notice this came out! Can I say perfection? The super vivid descriptions of his mental space are really what makes this stand out from a standard "Here's a scene from an episode described only as we saw it on screen!" and the imagery is so stunning. And the last part with Mycroft, holy shit, it's so powerful because there's so much raw emotion that even when I read this a third time through it was still as moving as it was the first time around. I love the mentions of Siger. They're subtle, but ugh, they are so nicely placed and ughhhhh, I love this okay
cumbiebatch chapter 1 . 1/18/2014
I loved this. Amazing.
pew chapter 1 . 1/18/2014
Wonder exactly how much Mycroft regretted that strategy. He deserved it though.
guest chapter 1 . 1/17/2014
Don't ask me why, but High Sherlock was one of my favorite parts of the new season. He just seemed much more natural and relaxed to me. I also liked him a bit rough around the edges. I'm glad to see you thought he was on an opiate too, because John's crackhead comment made no sense to me for a shooting gallery. I like your take on his internal chatter. Thanks for writing!
