I really really hope (if this ever comes off hiatus) Lily's brainwashing of Charissa backfires. Horribly.

No matter how many times I read this, finding out Lily intentionally and purposely brainwashed her daughter infuriates me. I get why when she finds out Charissa just isn't bothered, but I still hope she eventually gets rid of Lily's conditioning and her 'rules'.

Imagine being so worried about what your child might (MIGHT) grow up to be you design and implements a process that breaks the natural formation of their immature mind and artificially builds it around a set of tenants that you program into them. Societal norms and generally 'raising' a child can be considered a form of brainwashing, but that's not done especially purposely and everyone undergoes it, so to a large extent it's 'natural', but what Lily did is actual brainwashing and conditioning with the intent to ensure the target develops a designed persona and set of core values.

That shit is downright evil.

It's actually a lot worse then what Manipulative!Dumbledore's do - at least that is indirect action instead of direct (so not as deliberate), not as severe conditioning, and is done to stop a monster that definitely exists with an magical prophecy saying that there's literally no other person that can stop said monster.

Instead of, you know, what someone MIGHT grow up to be.

re-reading this for like the 3rd time...and still think it would have been a lot better if Charissa was sorted into Slytherin. Fits her a lot better than Ravenclaw does/did.

I think I tried reading through this once before and now I'm remembering the reason. While your writing is amazing so far and everything fits really smoothly... theres a catch. I remember stopping reading because you started to use the odd ð. I'm going to try to push through it now, but the first time I attempted to read it made it almost impossible to get through chapter 4 the first time. It makes a reader need to stop, go back, say it again, correctly this time, then go forward. It makes it and interesting but slightly infuriating read. I'm going to keep going this time because I've finally learned some level of patience. But it does take no small amount of patience to somehow get through ch4.

Sad to see this on hiatus a very interesting story.

I expect that this story will never continue, a sad fact, but I can understand where you come from, to a very small degree. You just got bored with the fandom and the series itself.

Thanks for the heads up. It's frustrating to leave a story in my queue of unfinished stories awaiting the "Complete" flag. I have some in the queue that have been untouched for several years and there's no way of knowing if the author is simply preoccupied, bored, or dead. I may read through what exists of TLG to see if I want to actually read an incomplete story or I'll simply delete it from the queue.

This is quite sad. I loved the story, Charissa was a very interesting and unique protagonist as was Lily. I also really enjoyed the world building you did in general, whereas usually I'm quite indifferent when authors do that kind of thing. I hope you come back to this.

That said, I'll keep an eye out for more from you.

Sad to see this end but it’s not like I’m paying you to write. I am very curious what things about canon you’ve changed your opinion on over the years. Mostly because my opinions on canon have remained fairly static over the years and I just think it’s fascinating to hear about why and how people’s opinions do change.
