In fairness harry only seemed to struggle on school spell in the earlier years and even then I think it was more due to lack of real interest and thus motivation.
He’s always excelled at the defense curriculum so imagine despite his relatively non aggressive demeanor like his short temper suggests he internally is quite interested in lashing out and thus is reflected in his ability to lash out with magic even in relatively harmless ways compared to his ability to do other things, the blue wig the use of levicorpus on Ron on first try without knowing what it would do dissarming charm, I think it’s a mindset lol k at Hermione she’s such a thorough academic that the spells that work by design she perfects just by absorbing the theory, the spells that need more emotional contributions not so much

Flitwick is a place in Hertfordshire or maybe Bedfordshire so ia just a regular name.

Voldemort isn’t incompetent but he’s egotistical proud and arrogant.
I don’t think he bothered to master any field as his main goal is to be above others and brute force overpowering things gets that done he a prodigy but he has no interest in learning that which he doesn’t think will directly Beni fit him

I think Voldemort is better at destroying that creating or protecting hence he doesn’t really use wards but rather shows a talent for inflicting harm probably would th the aim of causing a drawn out painful slow death,

I’d assumed that was why Petri call his horcruxes imperfect, something to do with not being a master in the field, though I suspect Dumbledore probably has far more theoretical and academic knowledge about horcruxes than even Voldemort but lacks the experience based knowledge that comes with practices get the dark arts.
Dumbledore seems to have mastered multiple branches of magic and gone beyond that still in some areas

This is stupid, there’s nothing anyone could do to make harry less empathetic and remorseful.
No matter how rational or logical the decision to kill someone or something is, the fact he cares enough to not be able to murder a person and shoes away from inflicting pain, shows he’s too empathetic a person to be able to not feel anything about harming others even if he can convince himself that it was for the best and not feel sad or guilty, it won’t stop him feeling remorse as it clear he wishes that he didn’t need to do so and he regrets the decision even if he would do it again. There’s a Reason horcruxes are considered vile, because only those like Voldemort who have no regard for any life and in fact take pleasure in inflicting pain and torture and destruction on others can tear their Souls. Those who kill even murder for other reasons are still terrible people but they aren’t bad enough to tear their own souls, if it was really that early all the death eaters would have horcruxes but so would many of the order of the Phoenix and those in law enforcement and those who have reason enough to hate someone enough to kill them.

Ok, sorry, but my braincell deserted me just then. The concept doesn’t really make sense...

Always glad to see this update!
I like the theme of kindness versus strength and how you've made Harry naturally very kind, but unsure about whether he should pursue kindness or strength in the future. Really brings home how his outrageously hostile circumstances are challenging him to change who he is as a person and not really for the better.
As usual, I am utterly terrified for Harry. It's more interesting to leave the canon rails for sure, but also frightening. I also like the little twists to canon magic. It makes it feel a bit mysterious without having to seriously amend canon. Like with Voldemort's accomplishment being using Horcruxes as an anchor instead of a copy. Also don't think I missed the bit about not just being a hair metamorphmagus. I wonder if you're going to use this challenge with Vince to have Harry discover that ability in himself.
