![]() Author has written 42 stories for Sherlock. I am an English, literature, and college-prep writing tutor. I also write curriculum for literature, writing, and Bible courses. I write a blog as well, chiefly for educators. If you are interested, PM me and I'll give you the information privately. Most of my stories are AU Mary Morstan tales. Having begun to write these stories before Series Three came out, I based my Mary entirely on the original books. I have always loved this most accommodating of all fictional characters. According to ACD's canon, she's clever; she's resourceful; she's mostly imperturbable. She encouraged Watson in his exploits with Holmes. And when her presence began to make story flow difficult, she obligingly passed away. I hope I've captured a bit of her spirit in my Mary-centric tales. Canon-compliant stories: The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier Mary Watson stories: I have not written these stories in chronological order. If anyone is interested in reading them in the order in which they happened, here is a semi-chronological list: Mary Oddly Detached All I Want for Christmas One to Spare Dancing Round the Subject Show Me Red-Handed Red-Handed Recriminations Family Dynamics Part One When Mary Changed Her Mind A Dream of Rain First Thing in the Morning Where There's Smoke Suture Self John and Mary Go Out to Dinner After Dinner Aftermath John and Mary Have a Tiff His Spare Watson An Attempt at Ordinary The Watsons' Revenge Punching Percival Pratt Can't Manage Ordinary Boscombe Pond The Misadventure of the Deceptive Detective Tis the Season Dress Rehearsal The Colour of Crime Mary and Molly and the Misandrist's Mail Invictus Family Dynamics Part Two Captain of His Soul Chance Meetings Not Giving Up The Danger of Light and Joy Making Friends and Forming Alliances, To Hold His Hand, and To Hold Her Heart are groups of related one-shots that intersperse the other stories. Read the chapter headings to find out where these fit in the chronology. Not Giving Up is chronologically first, but would make more sense if read after Chance Meetings. A Watson When You Need One (also known as Ian stories) would begin sometime after Boscombe Pond, if it had actually happened. Justine's Family begins where AWWYNO leaves off. |
