xjskdffsdhsdkff chapter 1 . 8/3/2014 This is beautiful. Just... ahhh oh my goodness you really got it /right/ everything Of course I know nothing about this ceremony but it just feels right /v\\ And it's good to see Major Sholto around this site hh |
Swiss Army Knife chapter 1 . 4/19/2014 A line that stood out: "He could not, he thought, love Sherlock as he did, or forgive him at all, if he had not already known the love of soldiers for their comrades in arms." This was a hard story to read for me, in a way. I felt for John, deeply, and although I love the characters of Mary and Sherlock and Mycroft, I think I've had just as hard a time letting go of all that happened in series three as John did in this story. By the end, you'd brought me around and left me feeling relieved, too, but it took a long time. Kudos for bringing in Sholto; I've so wanted to see people explore him more. Also want to say I really think you elevated a fandom story to something genuinely moving even outside of the Sherlock framework. I've never been to a Remembrance Sunday, but your words took me there. Thank you for the story. |
TheGyrhan chapter 1 . 3/1/2014 Wow, this is really heart-warming to read. :) |
Fang's Fawn chapter 1 . 2/28/2014 This...was amazing. Well done! Loved your portrayal of Sholto, who intrigued me in TSo3. Everyone very believable and in character, true to the show. Good call not naming the baby! |
start2run chapter 1 . 2/27/2014 Loved the scene with Mycroft and Sholto. |
Soledad chapter 1 . 2/27/2014 Oh, I really loved this one! I think your John voice is true, and as always, you write Mycroft wonderfully. I liked the portrayal of Major Sholto; it would be a shame not to explore him further than the episode did. |
ijustsigneduptofollow chapter 1 . 2/26/2014 Excellent character study, as always. I like the way you portray John- a lot more going on under the surface than you see at first glance, obviously, but also 'I don't want to know'- I hadn't quite articulated that to myself before one of your other fics, but it's true. He's like the centipede that can walk as long as he doesn't have to think about how. I do love fics that explore John and Sherlock's relationship as one of brotherly love. |
