And usually people overdo the Sherlock being a sociopath thing, not so here. And Emily was a well made child character yup. :3

When Sherlock says "It may be the only reason he trusts me," is that implying that if Sherlock had shown any emotion, or if Lestrade's wife had survived, Lestrade might have become jealous? Or nothing like that?

Interactions with children do show the depths of one's heart, don't they? :D I enjoyed this very much. Sherlock says that John is often dull, but he pulled quite a lot from the five minutes he was in the room with the two of them.

I've been watching the JJ Abrams Star trek films and I have to wonder how Sherlock and Spock (or any Vulcan) would get along. Between Sherlock's "I can control my emotions" and Vulcan logic...well.

Anyway, this was very sweet.
