Ceric sulfate, more commonly known as cerium (IV) sulfate (sulphate if you're Bri'ish), is an ionic compound. It comes as either an anhydrous salt with the chemical formula Ce(SO4)2, or one of the various hydrated versions, such as cerium (IV) sulfate tetrahydrate. All flavours of this salt, however, are obnoxious shades from bright canary yellow to yellow-orange. They are moderately soluble in water, and when dissolved, form aqueous solutions that share the same piss yellow hue as their solid counterparts. Cerium (IV) sulfate is one of those rebellious salts whose solubility actually decreases when temperature increases. The applications of ceric sulfate seem to be few, but 1 kg of this inorganic compound can be purchased on Alibaba for a starting price of 10 USD.
