Things about me... Like my beloved Cullens, I am older than I look. I resisted reading the Twilight series because I did not want to suffer the devastation of it ending (finishing the Harry Potter series was heart-wrenching), but about a two and a half ago years ago I finally relented and thought I'd see what all the fuss was about. Before Edward fled for Alaska, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him and hooked on the series. And then I regretted not seeing "Twilight" when it was in the theater. Oh well, I got my chance a few months later at a local college campus... and made up for it by seeing "New Moon" and "Eclipse" 4 times each on the big screen... And now I am thoroughly enjoying "Breaking Dawn Part 1" (twice in the theater and I have watched the DVD end to end a couple of times) and eagerly awaiting Part 2!! When I was looking for more information about Stephenie Meyer, I eventually discovered fan fiction. Who knew? I have not yet tried my own hand at creating a story borrowing SM's characters, but who knows what will happen... I am a self-proclaimed Edward and Bella angst whore. So if your story has it, chances are that I may have read it (or may be reading it now!)... However I also thoroughly enjoy lemony goodness as well as things that are light and fluffy, so I keep an eye out for those stories as well. I have lots of favorites marked here - truly too many to list (look below at my faves and you'll see what I mean!)... For the record, I am firmly on Team Edward. My mental incarnations of Edward and Bella and most of the Twilight characters include the actors in the movies. Rob Pattinson makes me want to drop my panties. Frequently. Staring at my life-sized RPattz... um, I mean Edward Cullen... cut-out stand-up isn't helping matters either. And Rob Pattinson in other movies ("Little Ashes" and "How to Be" for 2 examples) really have made me see that he can do a lot more than just my favority sparkly vampire - he can cover an entire range of characters. And in my humble opinion, "Remember Me" and "Water for Elephants" are the movies that will define his progression from being seen as a "movie star" to being recognized as a serious "actor." I can't wait to see him as a bad boy in "Bel Ami," a guy who has a crazy day in "Cosmopolis," and anything else he has coming up!!! My pet peeves include stories where there is poor spelling, improper proper word usage (for example, they're, their, and there do NOT mean the same things and are NOT interchangeable), misuse of commas or apostrophes, overusing multiple POV where it doesn't progress the plot, and probably too many others to include here. I really would like to beta for someone but it hasn't panned out yet. My friends think I have gone off the deep end because of my borderline obsession with all things Twilight and Robert Pattinson. I own a lot of Twilight-themed stuff and I guess it is a better addiction that smoking or drinking or doing drugs! And those friends don't even know about my obsession with fanfiction! What would they think? (Hopefully I could get some of them to admit that they are fanfiction junkies too!) I love recommendations for stories, so if you have any you'd like to share please let me know! Here's to our love of Twilight! And let's start the [for the love of all that is holy, eternally long] countdown for "Breaking Dawn Part 2"!!! Catch me on Twitter at @BethMasenCullen |
