![]() Author has written 5 stories for Maid Sama!, and Kamisama Hajimemashita/神様はじめました. [Profile update: Stuck in an endless cycle of work, sleep, write, repeat...] xx When I first started a fan fiction account, I was a young middle schooler who just wanted an outlet to write funny, quirky, overly-dramatic stories. I deleted most of those from this website, simply because I have grown a lot as both a person and a writer since then, and I didn't take those stories seriously anymore. However, I decided to keep The Idolized Tengu and His Cursed Companion. I plan on rewriting it, and when it's ready, I will post it under a new name with a newly improved plot. I didn't want to scrap it completely yet (I enjoy the dynamic between my OC and Kurama far too much for that!) I also think it would be nice to eventually go back through I'll Move Into Your House, I'll Move Into Your Heart Also and do some serious editing/rewriting, but I don't see that happening any time soon, since that would be quite the time-consuming chore. It can just stay as it is for now, people seem to like it that way anyway, but as the author I can't reread it without cringing at certain parts. (A lot of parts, actually...) As for Alphabetical, I just need to come up with the last few prompts and then it will be finished. FINALLY. (eventually) I've really slacked off with that one... since it's technically just a series of different one-shots stitched together at random. If I'm totally honest, I don't quite know where Once Bitten is going. I was mainly using the idea of it as a way to get out of a bad bout of writer's block, but now... Well, it exists, and I feel like I should write more chapters for it. Perhaps I'll go watch a bunch of vampire films and come back around to it again later, when I'm in the mood ;) Rules of Engagement is the only story of greater length that I'm currently still writing and posting updates on, I've even gone back and edited earlier chapters in it, and I have to say I'm very proud of how it has progressed even though it's been a very slow progression! If all goes according to my outlined plan for it, it should end up being right around 40 chapters long. Give or take. *A great big thank you* for the support shown by following and favoriting both my stories and me as an author! It fills my heart with rainbows to hear from people, giving their own friendly reviews or writing PMs to me, eager to talk about their own love of reading/writing and any other passions that they have. This community is beautiful and restores my hope in humanity on a regular basis, because so many of you are witty, silly souls with so much warmth and good humor to bring forth in both online conversation and your own stories, that it absolutely charms me (and as for the negative Nellies out there, well, I just actively choose not to let them have any lasting effect on my optimistic view on the community as a whole) *A special shout out* to my lovely pen pal KorolevaRezni, who is not only a wonderful person but also a gifted writer herself; and even though it's currently on hold I think that her story Intertwined is super promising and I will forever look forward to reading more of it! There are about a billion other stories and authors I respect on here, too, and it constantly impresses me how talented so many people are. If you'd like to see my favorite authors/stories list, they're at the bottom of my profile :) *A little advice* to anyone who is just starting out with their writing, or feels that they want to improve: remember to believe in yourself, and just write what feels best to you, or what you're most familiar with. Research helps too! Studying the craft will improve your craftsmanship (or in this case, penmanship hehehe;) But also, don't be afraid to dip into your emotions and spill them like therapy on the page if that's what helps you work through things. That's what I do, and other people can really seem to connect with that. Your characters and the scenarios you put them in will just feel more... real, and relatable, if you allow yourself to be vulnerable when you write. And it's good to get into the habit of not putting pressure on yourself, or comparing yourself to others in an unhealthy way. Don't force yourself, or push too high of ideals onto yourself. Just have fun with it! Allow yourself the wiggle room to be truly unique and inspirational. It's good to remember that everyone has their very own writing style, mostly due to the fact that all writing pretty much comes from your own life experiences - I often find bits of my personality and experiences ingrained into my own characters and plots. Crazy, but so true! It's just a subconscious thing that happens when you write. Anyway, I wish every aspiring author, no matter what age they are or stage they're at, the best of luck! And remember people, practice makes perfect! Proof of that is if you compare my two KWMS stories side by side. You can really tell how my writing has improved over the years, lol. We're always improving our skills over time because that's part of the beauty of being human ;) Alright, I think I've covered my main bases for now. You're more than welcome to check out the rest of my profile below for fun facts/general info about me. Hello there lovelies! My name? Starts with an 'M' and ends with 'ystery' ;) As far as you know, my name is CeruleanKiss (but you can call me CK for short) and you may never truly know who I am. And I know we all like the mystery in that. Enough of these secrets though, allow me to share more about myself with you! I am now 21 years of age. My birthday is May Day, otherwise known as Beltane: a time to celebrate the peak of spring when the earth is abuzz with life _ I have dark hazel eyes and chestnut brown hair. I'm 5ft 2in tall (er, short), with a youthful face to boot - which, as with most things in life, has its pros and cons. I feel that I can be underestimated at times, due to my physical appearance. In fact, people are often surprised by me once they get to know me better. Due to this, I've grown used to the descriptor 'mysterious' being thrown at me every now and again; which is rather amusing because the reality of it is, I simply tend to be a private person, and I find it impolite to talk about myself unless somebody asks. But, when someone genuinely wants to know more about me then I get far too excited to share, lol. So I really don't know where this 'air of mystery' comes from. Generally, at the start of a new encounter I'm a bit shy, and a tad awkward; I'm more often than not the type who has to warm up and get comfortable over time. Find my bearings, and all that. But, once I come out of my shell and grow accustomed to new people and environments, I'm actually quite bubbly, fun-loving, active and open to talking and having a good time with others. My favorite animals are cats and horses, but I've loved all animals since a very young age. I actually grew up as a farm girl, and have worked with farm animals for a long time, so they hold a special place in my heart :) I'd also love to swim with sharks someday. I think it'd be totally awesome to have my very own treehouse to be used as my private writing studio, where I can hole up and work on stories and poetry in my spare time away from family, friends, kids and animals (well actually, my cats could chill up there with me, but that's it). I've been reading and writing ever since I can remember, it's my biggest passion so, that's really never going to go away. I do have several books that I work on in my spare time off work, away from friends and family, and away from fan fiction - which is why I can disappear for odd lengths of time from this site, because I do have other priorities to tend to off of the internet... not that I don't love you guys;) I love both outdoor and indoor activities, such as: Going for nature walks/hikes, going on trail rides (or any other form of horse-back riding), most sports, and any other games that can be played outside, inside games too, such as board games/card games/party games and of course video games (my all time favorite being The Legend of Zelda!!!), reading and writing, card reading, meditating, singing (everyone in my family can sing), acting (I like voice acting, but film is fun in its own way, and so is theater), painting (I'm self-taught and I only use it as a hobby on especially dull days where I need a splash of color in my life), anime and manga, TV shows, and the occasional movie if I'm in the mood for it (I'm not much of a movie goer) I'm also a huge fan of astrology, psychology, metaphysics, and neuroscience - and have studied such things over a lot of years, also learning them from my mother and sister. I love reading and studying all sorts of different things, and although I'm not a spiritual person in the sense of going to church, I am innately spiritual in other ways, like meditating and learning more about my own inner workings, and the magickal ways of the world we live in, picking it all apart like it's a grand puzzle! I just think that stuff is really cool and interesting. I am, like, the hugest nerd for it. Crystals and energy work, reiki and tarot, the study of the human mind, which is basically the world's greatest SUPER COMPUTER... The study of the brain is extremely intriguing, honestly. And Mind over Matter is a very real thing, you guys, they've scientifically proven it! God, there are so many things about US as human beings that are entirely too fascinating for their own good if you ask me ;) Ahem. Sorry for my nerd rant. Moving on... My Western Zodiac: Sun Sign in Taurus, the Bull and an Earth sign, Moon Sign in Cancer, the Crab and a Water sign, Ascendant Sign in Aquarius, the Water-Bearer and an Air sign (the only element I don't seem to have in me is Fire. I think my older sister is the one who has all the Fire, lol) My Chinese Zodiac: Earth Tiger, specifically My Totem/Spirit Animal: Wolf My Color Personality: Blue Speaking of colors, my favorite colors are deep blues and dark, forest greens. Like the color of the sky and the mountains where I live. Fun fact: Cerulean blue is where I get my profile name from. That, and the word kiss because... idk it just came to me and had a nice ring to it? Oh, and I do in fact love the color yellow as well. And purple. And rich burgundy, ohoho, maybe something like a bright, candied-apple red too... I just love all the colors, man. Rainbows on a rainy day leave me especially tickled pink;) I also love food! And yes, the enthusiasm is necessary here. My favorites include: Jam on toast. Anything with potatoes. Wild Rice. Kale salads (usually with wild rice mixed in). NACHOS. Wild Salmon. Sushi. Cilantro. Limes. And many other fruits, so many fruits, all of the fruits! (A whole fruits basket, one could say;) As for sweets, I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but I do enjoy green tea mochi and dark chocolate with hazelnuts. I am also a big fan of tea and coffee. As for my least favorite foods, I don't really like caramel, or cinnamon, or pork, or Indian food ('cause I don't like the spices they use in it) To continue with listing more of my favorite things, I will go into more specifics by category now: Favorites from Literature: (I love reading/studying a mixture of poetry, YA fiction/fantasy, historical fiction, books on energy healing such as Reiki, magick and Wiccan beliefs, metaphysics, and neuroscience) (Top 3) - Howl's Moving Castle (and its companion novels) by Diana Wynne Jones, Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys, and the entire Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld. Other favorites include Fangirl and Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, You by Caroline Kepnes, the Inkheart series and also The Thief Lord by Cornelia Funke, the Immortals series and other books by Alyson Noel, the Percy Jackson series, the Fablehaven series, the Mortal Instruments series, the Hunger Games series, the Harry Potter series, Pride and Prejudice, Alice in Wonderland or really anything by Lewis Carroll, most everything written by Shakespeare, and poetry by Maya Angelou, Edgar Allan Poe, Pablo Neruda, Robert Frost... This list could go on for ages. I'll also read anything by Tess Whitehurst, Dr. Joe Dispenza, Deepak Chopra, and Harmony Nice. Favorites from Anime and Manga: Death Note is my #1, I've watched it all the way through several times and I think it's an absolutely brilliant and totally gripping masterpiece. Inuyasha is probably my favorite older style anime, and Fruits Basket holds a special place in my heart because it helped me through some very tough times with its wholesomeness, the purity of it, and the raw emotions it evokes. But, I do have a whole list of favorites that are practically impossible to assort into a list - The Ancient Magus' Bride, Assassination Classroom, Soul Eater, Black Butler, Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist, Blue Exorcist, Death Parade, Kaichou wa Maid-sama, Angel Beats, Clannad and Clannad: After Story, Samurai Champloo, Witch Hunter Robin, Psycho-Pass, Fairy Tail, Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, Junjou Romantica, Yona of the Dawn, Snow White with the Red Hair, Skip Beat!, Ouran High School Host Club, Kamisama Kiss, Faster than a Kiss, Dengeki Daisy... etc. There are a lot of WebToon Comics that I adore as well! :3 My favorites including: I Love Yoo, Siren's Lament, Age Matters, Enjoy the Show!, My Dear Cold-Blooded King, Midnight Poppy Land, Let's Play, SubZero, and Lore Olympus. Favorite Video Games: The Legend of Zelda, Pokemon, Mario (basically anything made by Nintendo), and Detroit: Become Human (fuck it but I'm in love with the actor who portrays Connor and of course he's married...To the actress who portrays Traci) Favorite Music: (I enjoy a large variety of music, the list has grown and grown over time) Classical, rock, punk rock, alternative rock, pop rock, jazz, reggae, alternative hip hop, k-pop/j-pop (and yes, like the rest of the world, I am obsessed with BTS and so insanely proud of those boys because holy mother of god, they work so freaking hard and it really pays off - their music is amazing! - I also feel the same way about Starbomb and Ninja Sex Party, and I'm deeply in love with Dan Avidan aka Danny Sexbang (who happens to be wayyy older than me... admittedly and unfortunately, most of the crushes I bother forming on other humans are on guys who are twice my age *sigh*) He's genuinely such an amazing person in so many ways, and both him and Arin are so very inspiring (also, if their relationship isn't best-friendship-goals, then idk what is???) Favorite TV Shows: Bones, Friends, How I Met Your Mother, New Girl, The Walking Dead, The Office, Parks and Rec, Doctor Who, Criminal Minds... I think those are the main ones I really enjoy, but I know there's a lot of other good ones out there. I don't watch TV a whole lot anymore, I mostly just watch YouTube instead, lol. Favorite YouTube channels: Game Grumps (my #1 favorite, by far), Good Mythical Morning, Tom Bilyeu, Women of Impact (I am obsessed with the Impact Theory videos, Tom and his wife Lisa are absolute SUPERSTARS), The Drawfee Channel, Octopimp, TheHumbleNoob, Little Kuriboh, JennaMarbles, Molly Burke, Safiya Nygaard, Rachel and Jun, AlexandrasGirlyTalk, DanAndPhilGAMES, akidearest, Jaiden Animations, TheOdd1sOut, Binging with Babish, Studio C... That's pretty much it. I think. There's also an extensive list of music channels that I follow, but my go-tos are Rousseau, Animenz Piano Sheets, Lindsey Stirling, LeeandLie, and The Piano Guys. I also have some new interests I'm attempting to dabble in: learning how to garden, how to do Tarot readings, and how to read the language of flowers and familiarize myself with different plants. I've actually always had an interest in language, the ones I want to learn most of all being Japanese, German, and French. Spanish would be nice to know, though, and so would Latin. And to finish this off, here's a sprinkling of some of my Favorite Quotes: (my favorite poem is Desiderata by Max Ehrmann, but it's too long to include here) "Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder." - Rumi "There is no inherent right or wrong in this world, those labels are just artificial constructs. Right and wrong are held by positions of authority, that's the way it's always been, so how then could anyone know this truth you speak of? Don't you see the reality is that truth long ago became nothing more than a shadow of itself; it's a mere echo of the past now... The world is one big moral gray area, it just makes you feel safer that it can be categorized into good and bad, that's not actually how it works." - (Atsushi Ōkubo) Professor Stein, Soul Eater "Forgive me my nonsense as I forgive the nonsense of those who think they talk sense." - Robert Frost "The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion." - Albert Camus "I know nothing with any certainty, but the sight of the stars makes me dream." - Vincent van Gogh "If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?" - Disney's animated movie, Alice In Wonderland "Have I gone mad?" "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret- all the best people are." - Tim Burton's film, Alice In Wonderland "My only goal in life right now is to be happy. Genuinely, intensely, and consistently happy, regardless of what that looks like to others." - anonymous And that's pretty much everything I wanted to share, I hope it wasn't too long-winded! I also hope you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them, and please don't be a stranger - feel free to PM me at any time :) Stay lovely, lovelies! Xoxo -- CK |
