A Little Bit About Me: I was recently asked by a reviewer if I'd share a little bit about myself (and I went hurr durr with happiness when I read "You're practically the inventor of Haru and Kyo fics!"); of course there was no way that I wouldn't oblige, so here you go! It's gonna be a little bit everywhere, by the way, as I think of things to write. Okay, let's see, hmmm... I am currently unemployed at the moment, like so many other people (sad panda), but I have had various jobs like housekeeping at a hotel, taking inbound calls for a cell phone company and working at a shoe store. (Those are just a few of the jobs I've had.) I am over a quarter of a century old now and I can't believe people were born in the '90s; this terrifies me and makes me feel ancient. I have a fiance and we have been together for a little over 7 years now; we met in college (we were next door neighbours, haha). He's very logical and an upright citizen; I am just kind of wild and full of crazy. XD He has mellowed me out a bit over the years and I have made him more adventurous. He says I am the reason he is now incapable of blushing. We aren't officially married yet because I'd like a nice wedding and we just haven't had the money, but it doesn't matter too much as long as we're together. :) (EDIT: Did I mention that he knows about what I write and, though it freaked him out at first, he's now totally supportive? :D) We have a dog; she's a German Shepherd/Chow Chow/Husky mix and she is dumber than a bag of hammers. (I say that with love in my heart!) She was a neglect case when we adopted her and so socializing and change has always been a bit hard for her. I used to volunteer a lot at my local Humane Society when I was growing up, so I'm very partial to adoption. I'm more a dog person than a cat person. We used to have two rats, Onyxia and Nefarian, who I still miss. :( I would love to have my own horses some day; I love English riding. I have a Bachelor's degree in English with my emphasis in Creative Writing. It hasn't been too useful in the real world yet. XD I'm not a huge gamer, per se, but I do like playing video games. Of course I played the ultimate staple MMORPG, World of Warcraft (warlocks forevah!), though my interest waned because most of my friends quit so I followed suit. Recently I've been playing tons of League of Legends and my favourite champion is Morgana. As for stuff like console games, I adore RPGs. I just bought Folklore for the PS3 and one of my favourite series is the Shin Megami Tensei: Persona one. My all-time most favouritest console game is Okami, though, hands down. I love that game. ;_; I'm not a great cook, but my favourite thing to make (and to eat) is lasagna. I also make some great enchiladas! :D I wear reading glasses, though usually I just really need them for using the computer. I adore "My Little Pony" and have been making my fiance watch it with me; we also like Dexter (I haven't seen the fifth season yet @.@), and I love all the shows like "Project Runway" and "Say Yes to the Dress." Sometimes I pretend I can draw. And then I learn that I can't, pfft. I am very envious of some of the people on dA. The worst thing on earth is shopping for pants, I swear. No matter what size you are, it's just awwwful. I love buying a new pair of shoes, though. My fiance has a great eye for shoes and he likes to buy them for me, so I can't complain. :3 I hate people that are over-critical of others; not everyone is perfect. Yes, there are things we all could improve about ourselves, but being a douche to someone about it is just awful. I think another important thing about me is that I have been clinically diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and it's something I struggle with every day, even if I am on medication. I know there are so many, many times I think that I'm alone out there, but I find more and more that other people I know and close friends also have the same problems. I know what it's like to feel lost and alone and afraid, or completely out of control of how you feel, so I want anyone else who has the same problems to know that you're not alone. :) Also, if you're wondering at what point you might end up feeling like a mature adult...I wouldn't be able to tell you. I still act like I'm 21 or something! X3 Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to know and I'll answer it! :) Fave Pairings: Digimon: TaichixYamato, DaisukexTakeru FAQ: A few people have asked me questions over the ages about my writing (since I'm like...ancient XD) so I thought I'd answer the most frequently asked here. Q: Why HaruxKyou? A: To be honest, I first liked YukixKyou, because I never really thought about any other pairing. Then I read some fanfiction by people like Triste and some others and went "omg...HaruxKyou...it's brilliant!" And to be honest, writing their personalities just clicked for me. Ever since then I have been completely obsessed. Q: Why do you always write smut? A: I just love smut. X3 I'm essentially a big pervert. Plus I feel that there aren't enough PWP/lemon fics out there, especially in Furuba, to be enjoyed by readers, so I try my best. Q: Why do you spell it as "Kyou"? A: I just like the way it looks. XD I would really have no problem writing it as "Kyo." "Kyou" in Japanese also means "today," which is how I think of the cat's personality, just thinking about today. Q: Is there anybody you style your writing after? A: Nobody comes to mind, though I guess I like to think of myself as having a kind of spare writing style. When I was learning to write I would try to emulate, and it just grew from there. Q: How long have you been writing? A: Since I was at least 13, probably earlier, but I really began fanfiction when I was 13. Originally I wrote for Ronin Warriors and never, ever published it. X3 I also wrote some Gundam Wing and Weiss Kreuz stuff, long since lost, also never published. "How We Are, How We Were" was the first thing I felt comfortable publishing on the interwebz. Q: Do you mind if I e-mail you/IM you/ask you to beta? A: Of course not! :) I have a lot of fun hearing from people who enjoy reading my writing and enjoy writing their own fanfiction as well. Feel free to do fanart or even your own fanfiction based in the little "mini world" of one of my fanfics, but please let me know when you do so I can see it! :D Q: Why write in notebooks? Why not use the computer? A: I do own a laptop, so you would think that it'd be easy because I can write anywhere I want, but... For some reason ideas just don't flow when I'm typing on a computer. I know my hands can't move as fast when I'm writing, but I'm much more coherent when I'm using paper and pen. (I always, always write in pen, single-spaced, using both the front and back of each page.) Q: What is your editing process? A: First I write in my notebook the vast majority of my story. Weird part? I never write the end in the notebook. I will then type the story into the computer, either my desktop or laptop as I have copies of everything everywhere, and while I'm typing I think about what I want to change; I add in minor changes in the moment (such as a verb change). I do not write the end of the story when I'm done typing it all up. I then go back to the top and read it over and massive edit from there, sometimes cutting out whole paragraphs--or in crazy cases a whole page. When I reach the bottom I write the ending, then I go back through and edit it all yet again. X3
How I really, really need a job, haha. ;_; And how much I wish I could get my writing out of my brain faster. Requests/suggestions/comments/ideas are always accepted! UPDATED: 3/25/12 |
