yubel the ultimate nightmare chapter 256 . 8/13 I'm a peachshipper to! Haha. I'm glad I found this. You don't bash Anzu. |
yubel the ultimate nightmare chapter 252 . 8/13 I love GX. I got back into yugioh at the end of Y5 because I used to watch it on TV when I was like 6. I never watched DM as a kid. I also remember Zexal and I'm gonna watch that after I'm done with Arc-V. Unfortunately, yugioh doesn't come on tv anymore and they dont even sell the cards in shops. There are no card shops where I live and we can only get them off Amazon. So have to stick with duel links. |
yubel the ultimate nightmare chapter 219 . 8/12 I used to like this pairing but now i rarely read it. They make Jounouchi seem like a helpless person who has to depend on Seto. I think they have forgotten he used to be in a gang. And why is Seto always on top. Why can't it be Jou? |
Azurite chapter 31 . 4/30 This was not what I expected, but it was good! You picked such an emotional moment for Atem, and I can definitely see him trying to hold everything together but not being able to maintain the façade forever. As far as how Anzu (though why brown eyes and not blue? I know "Téana" has brown eyes, though...) got there, maybe it can be something as simple as she was thinking about him in the future, and because time is infinite rather than linear, her thoughts could project back to him in a moment of need? Yeah, let's say that. Because MAGICAL MILLENNIAL ITEMS and such. |
Azurite chapter 203 . 4/30 Hah! I like this, it has potential. I don't know if I'd call it a "cliffhanger" (although, you know, BOMB), but I like the idea that, per usual, Kaiba is essentially scheming, seemingly for his own benefit (but Anzu and Yuugi technically see right through him), Yuugi and Anzu care about him, if only on behalf of everyone else he's responsible for/cares about even if he won't necessarily admit it. I personally would love to see Anzu wipe the floor with Kaiba at DDR. Seriously, battle tactics and hand-eye coordination will do NO good whatsoever in DDR. She could just set him to Heavy mode on Nonstop and make Kaiba paste for dinner. |
Azurite chapter 282 . 4/30 Ha, this was cute. I wonder how many notes it took before Anzu started joining in, becoming a master note passer instead of a (ugh, I shudder to use this term) tattle-tale. I think a lot of people forget that the term 'shipping comes from the word 'relationship,' and it can certainly refer to all kinds of relationships, and friendships happen to be one of the most fundamental ones out there. That's certainly a core theme of Yu-Gi-Oh, and I feel like this entry to the challenge really embodies "Yu-Jo," or the bonds of friendship between the original gang (minus superstar Yuugi, of course). |
Azurite chapter 390 . 4/30 GODDAMN THIS WAS GOOD. Totally not what I expected at all, but DAMN! So good! Specifically how she channeled both of them in her own way, acknowledging the best parts of them, but not being blind to the faults either Yami Yuugi or Seto Kaiba had/has. To embody that, to find inspiration and put it into actual motion: that's something I viscerally understand, and something I can easily imagine being a fundamental part of Anzu's character, especially considering how big her dreams are in REALITY, never mind a fantasy universe where children's card games determine the fate of the world. I LOVE THIS. |
Azurite chapter 494 . 4/30 So this is the fic I originally wanted to click on but I clicked Denyshipping instead, but OMG. THIS IS PRECIOUS. It's so heartfelt in in-the-moment I LOVE IT. Honestly, I could probably find a way to ship Anzu with just about anyone, but she and Jounouchi are both, as the ship name says, SO DAMN DEVOTED and pure that it almost feels like they'd understand each other without much effort. There might not be a ton of growth between them, but I could totally see it being a high school romance. The only thing I can't reconcile is how it would break Yuugi's heart, but if it just sort of... happened? And they didn't mean anything harmful, and Yuugi was mourning Atem too? I could see this going further. Very hurt/comfort. |
Azurite chapter 495 . 4/30 This chapter, also known as "The Princess Saves the Pharaoh in This One." NICE JOB, ANZU! Not quite what I would call Denyshipping in the traditional sense (and TBH I clicked on this chapter accidentally, but it has Anzu in it, so I read it and like I said, I'll review...), but honestly? I could see Yami Bakura getting a bit obsessed with Anzu after this. Not that she'd like it, or Yami Yuugi would tolerate it, but still. |
Azurite chapter 518 . 4/30 Never judge a fic by its final line, otherwise the conceit of the story will make no sense. *laughs* Only because it's supposed to be Copyshipping, and at the end it's Jounouchi saying he hates them both? Hah! But yes, I can see this sort of thing happening, up to and including Mai calling him out on his SisCom. |
Azurite chapter 505 . 4/30 Honestly, I'd blush if Mai just blew an air kiss in my direction. So I completely understand where Anzu is coming from here. |
Azurite chapter 423 . 4/30 Ooh, I really like this one. And having been in Japan during monsoon season in the fall, I can attest you got the weather so vividly depicted, it took me back! (I even worried for a split second I might slip where I was sitting, which is a perfectly dry office thousands of miles from Japan. So good job, author!) I like the possibility running throughout this one, like an undercurrent. Ooh. Is it weird if a fic gives you good shivers? This gave me good shivers. |
Azurite chapter 240 . 4/30 Ahh, yes! That was satisfying AND refreshing. Like a lemonade on one of those perfect temperature days Mai was talking about. Honestly, I find it kind of hard to get into her head, but this feels like you got there without delving too deep. She's definitely got skeletons in her closet, but I think Jounouchi, scared of such things as he is, would be willing to help her get over them, for her own sake. Yuugi did a good job rubbing off on him that way. This is one of my favorite (as you say, endgame) 'ships, but I also recognize it requires a lot of growth, and this seems like a great starting point: like a seedling just getting transplanted into the ground where it'll become a tree. You think they're polar opposites, but in reality... |
Azurite chapter 368 . 4/30 Ahahahhahahahaa, see? SEE? It's not just me, everyone thinks Mokuba will grow up to be a consummate flirt. His lines might be awful, and he'll be just as overdramatic as his brother, but damn if he won't get the girls blushing and thinking about things they never considered before! I love these two. They're so adorable together. And honestly, they temper each other really well, seeing as Mokuba is probably just as smart as Rebecca (in real world smarts, anyway), and Rebecca could introduce Mokuba to more freedom in his life, and less following Seto around. I'm curious who your other endgame OTP is...? |
Azurite chapter 566 . 4/30 Aww, this was adorable. I'm with you in that it totally makes sense to me that Mokuba would get a kid crush on Anzu. I mean, the name Boxshipping comes from the whole incident where she was determined to save him and basically built a box ladder to get him out of the Rare Hunters' hideout! I like how Anzu is the one saying/doing something unexpected -telling Mokuba he should do what he wants- rather than telling him what to do, which I assume he gets A LOT from many people, even with the supposed freedom he gets via his brother. Even if it's not as if she realized what was going on in his head, she fundamentally cares about everyone, and notices the little things. :) |
