I was hoping that Sessh would get his arm back and finally get his sword

I have to be honest. I found this story highly disturbing. It is the epitome of an unhealthy relationship, but it’s treating the characteristic wrong and poor behaviors that make it such as character development points, which does not say much for the characters we all know and love. I also found both Kagome and Sesshoumaru to be completely OOC, Kagome in particular being quite unlikeable.

There is a fine line in fiction in how trauma can be used to successfully build character development before it instead transforms into a sort of perverse, voyeuristic indulgence. And unfortunately, this comes across as such.

Any affection or kindness that pops up seems forced and misplaced and not a natural development within the relationships because the foundation and perspectives behind the characters don’t allow it to be anything else.

so they did win...sesshoumaru did learn a lesson in being a bitmore calm annd humble and submisson even when it was forced by the dark miko and when he was rescued by his mate...
and all worked out more or less alright

im not sure why she did take his pleasure...and did give a massage...i would take death or pain bevor bending to the wills and wants of a pompus guy, respect is one Thing and all th but only when the Person Shows this too...she really takes herself down, i find this a bit sad for a modern world rised women from a time where female did fight to the blood and death for there rights as human beings,in the working world and to deserve respect in a more or less "male ruled" Society, female rights she puts real way down into the mud of obidence or slave time...he does not deserve this after his childish dishonorable behavior in ch11...yes she let him sleep outside and slapped him, but he did not learn one Thing...and to tell her not to talk or no to talk with her friends till he alows this...that did no one not even with there slaves...his father would tan his behind when he was still alive and see's how he treets his own mate...

I know this is super late in coming but no matter what you should not hit the person you care about no matter how upset she was. I really think a part of her punishment should have been the shame that she should feel for not only stricking her mate but that she did it in front of the children. No matter what Shessomaru has never struck her and he should have pointed that out to her. He should have asked her if that was a lesson that she wanted to teach the children? How not only to be disrespectful but also that it’s ok to hit people especially when you know that they can’t or won’t hit back? I think that she should not only have to explain to the children that she was wrong and that they should never take their anger out on other people no matter what. I also think that he should have made her sweat or out. I think he should have told her that out right disrespect and violence against his person is not something that he could tolerate in a mate since he has never hit her and did know if she would be permitted to continue has the Lady of the West if she did not know how to behave as a lady.

Except he's full youkai and immune to poisons, so why would a measly arrow and some poison smoke make him so weak for an entire night?

More snarling. This story is pretty decent minus the snarling Kagome and the weird 'pov' and 'break' in parentheses.

Is Kagome a human or a cat in heat? She's snarling and sneering so much, I can't tell.

this is a very good story. it has it's own plot that's different from the main story line and it flows quite well. the grammar was flawless and easy to read. i liked that fact that Kagome and Sesshoumaru were honest with their feelings for each other b/c i think love doesn't always start out quick and fast, but slow and steady. i'm glad he owned up the the fact that he at least cared for her. in the sequel i hope the caring turns into a love so strong that she marks him and her life extends to compliment his. i also hope their love produces many, many pups to love over the centuries. keep up the great writing. c'ya'
