Author has written 6 stories for Harry Potter, and Chuck. I've been reading HP fanfics for a few months now and I finally decided to take the plunge and try to write some of my own. I really like reading time travel fics so I figured I would start with one of those. Favorite Pairings: Harry/Hermione: There is so much to say about this relationship, but it all comes down to one simple fact; Harry and Hermione complement each other perfectly, this is a great relationship based on mutual trust with two people who mesh perfectly. Even when they disagree in Canon it is never about stupid crap and as soon as they get a chance to talk it out they come to a compromise. Ron/No one: Ron is probably the most annoying character in fiction, ever. Some people say that Ron/Lavender is a good pairing, because they deserve each other (probably because neither is very bright and Lavender is vain while Ron just wants "one of the good looking ones"), but what horrible thing did Lavender do to deserve getting stuck with Ron? Neville/Luna: This is just a fun pairing to read. I really like the books but they would have been better if... Petigrew had killed Ron while escaping in PoA: Ron is a character that should have been at best a background character. His only positive characteristic is that he is good at chess. His most important contribution is that his rat is actually a person, after that point he becomes dead weight that only serves the most minor purposes that could easily be done by anyone. Neville had been part of the Golden Trio instead of Ron: Even if Ron survives PoA his assorted acts of douche-bagery in GoF should have seen him shuffled out of the Trio, this would have been a perfect time to bring in Neville and begin his BAMF-arc that instead started in OotP. Anyone had ever challenged Dumbledore: Dumbledore is portrayed as an infallible super-human character, as a result his actions cause untold damage because everyone lets him get away with crap. The man runs a school like it is his own personal safe house, he employs Snape and Trelawny despite their complete lack of teaching ability just to protect them from Voldemort. JKR had put more thought into 6 and 7: honestly the sixth book should have been titled "Harry Potter and the Year of Angst" and the seventh should have been "Harry Potter and the Great McGuffin Hunt". In HBP most of the characters seem to have completely forgotten everything they know about every other character over the last five books. And why did Harry need to hunt down two completely unrelated sets of super-trinkets? Hallows OR Horcruxes, make a freakin' choice. I have a couple of concepts simmering on the back burner at the moment which I'll probably get started on after I finish 'Master of Time' and 'Twin Who Lived'. I plan on writing alternatives to HBP and DH tentatively titled 'Harry Potter and the Tomb of Merlin'. If anyone would be willing to create cover art for any of my stories I would really appreciate it. |
