Author has written 12 stories for Harry Potter, Merlin, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Good day to all of you who have decided to have a peek at my dreary little profile page! But you can just call me Avis or RA. I'm 24 this year and am finally (unfortunately) a working adult... How time flies... If you have any questions about myself, my fanfiction or just want to chat for no reason whatsoever, feel free to PM me! Also, you can find me on AO3 too! Search for RareAvian (that's my pen name) and you should find it. New tumblr account: nevertickleasleepinghydra-dot-tumblr-dot-com If you want to see some of my art, you can check out: instagram-dot-com-slash-bewarethemandragora Side Note (Sort of) Fandoms I'm currently into: (Books/Movies) Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland (forever intrigued by the Nonsensical Dream World in there), Star Wars (I've only watched the first six episodes though), Pirates of the Caribbean (the three? four?? five??? main ones) Also, Book Recommendations (If you're a reader, aside from Harry Potter, I would totally rec you to read these because the authors' words are magical I swear): Bartimaeus Sequence (read it! Seriously, read it! Bartimaeus is awesome), Terry Pratchett's Tiffany Aching series (the writing style is so pleasant to read), The Book Thief (if you've watched it, go read it) (TV Series) BBC Sherlock, Merlin (avoiding the last few episodes like the plague because tragic spoilers), Brooklyn-99 (but I'm so far far behind) (Anime/Manga) Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Haikyuu, Noragami, Durarara, Kuroshitsuji, Fullmetal Alchemist, Code Geass, Assassination Classroom, Death Note, Shingeki no Kyojin/AoT, D.Gray-Man, Spirited Away (And a few other Ghibli stuff), Katekyo Hitman Reborn, Ao no Exorcist, 07-Ghost, Gangsta (just started), Boku no Hero Academia/MHA (Cartoons) Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra What category does Marvel fall under? Because I've enjoyed some of their movies and (to a lesser extent... for now) comics. My Stories (Progress) Danse Macabre: In which three individuals favoured by the Higher Entities are sent back in time in a green flash of light. A Grindelwald-raises-fem!Harry fanfiction. Questionable and strange things are bound to come up, but Hadria Potter will NOT be Dark, not completely anyway. There will not be unnecessary bashing of anyone either. Same thing goes for my other fic. Latest chapter - Chapter Eighteen. Next up - Chapter Nineteen, tentatively due in August or September. Sorry for the wait. Also In-Progress - Scintillare, another side-fic, prompted by two different users. Part Two is out, Part Three will be up by August. Current Side-Fics: Psithurism - Alternate ending to Chapter Seven of Danse Macabre, in which Hadria gets a Basilisk instead of a Jarvey. Natsukashii - It's New Year, Hadria is left home-alone while Gellert goes off to find a magical healing peach. What could possibly go wrong? Schicksalsschlag - Wherein Hadria meets Snape at a Potions Convention when Gellert brings her there just before school starts. Ingluvies - Hadria's Lethifold reveals its usefulness when it eats someone important. Sigel - A theory about golden eyes, discussed in a time of myth and a land of magic. Desenrascanço - Hadria learns a lesson about pissing off Death, drunk driving, and the responsibilities that come with great power. Anadiplosis - Hadria ends up in an alternate universe on a whim, and is reborn as Helia Potter, twin sister of Harry Potter, the Boy-Who-Lived. This is Hadria's take on the Other-Boy-Who-Lived trope. Except... is he really the Boy-Who-Lived? Fate laughs, again. Incomplete and probably still ongoing. SOS The Light wanted a Hero. They got Hadria instead. Too-young Hadria, they thought, not knowing Hadria at all.The Dark wanted a Villain sidekick. They got a Dark Lord instead. It was a mistake. Incomplete and probably never to be completed. Scintillare - A Psithurism AU, in which Hadria gets chosen for the Triwizard Tournament and few are happy about it, because there's never a year without Hadria getting into potentially life-threatening situations, is there? Ongoing, Part 1/3 Crossing Over: What would happen if one were to take seven characters from four different alternate universes and throw them together into a world where the Chosen One is a carefree girl, Hermione is in Ravenclaw, Draco is actually trying to be nice, Ron is more mature, Neville isn't scared of his own shadow, and... what happened to Voldemort? Current Status: On Hiatus Danse Macabre Main Characters' Info (For now) Name: Gellert Izsak Grindelwald Alias: Gerwald Grinsen Age (when): 116 (March 1998), 26 (Oct 31 1981), 30 (July 31 1985), 36 (Sept 1 1991) Birthday: (semi-canon) Dec 3 1882 Patronus: (unknown) Description: Honey-blonde hair, sky-coloured eyes, fair skin Familiars: Geist (Boggart), Nacht (Thestral) Wand: (currently) Pine, Phoenix Feather, 13.5 (formerly) Elder, Thestral Tail-hair, 15 ... Name Etymologies ... 'Izsak' is the Hungarian form of 'Isaac' which means 'Laughter' (This middle name that I've given him is non-Canon to the Potterverse) 'Gerwald' is a German name meaning 'Spear-Rule' (Similar to his first name. Go Harry Potter Wiki to check out etymologies for Canon names) 'Grinsen' is German for 'to Grin' or 'to Smirk' (Chosen to match the middle name I created for him, as well as his personality) 'Geist' is German for 'Mind', 'Spirit' or 'Ghost' 'Nacht' is German for 'Night' Name: Hadria Jamie Potter Alias: Hadria "Hydra" Grinsen, Nymphe (nickname in Greece) Age (years): 200 (Feb 11 2180), 1 (Oct 31 1981), 5 (July 31 1985), 11 (Sept 1 1991) Birthday: July 31 1980 Patronus: (currently) Hydra / (formerly) Stag, Doe Description: Raven-black hair, emerald-green eyes, fair skin Familiars: Scáth (Grim), Noh (Lethifold), Snag (Jarvey), Holly (Snowy Owl) Wand: (currently) Elder, Basilisk Plume-feather, 11.5 / Rowan, Phoenix feather, 12 (formerly) Elder, Thestral Tail-hair, 15 / Holly, Phoenix feather, 11 ... Name Etymologies ... 'Hadria' is the feminine form of 'Hadrian' which possibly means 'Dark' (Also chosen because it sounded similar to 'Hydra', and we all know how hard it is to kill that many-headed creature. Quite suitable for a Darker Girl-Who-Will-Live-More-Than-Once I think) Hadria is actually also an old name of two Roman settlements (and Hadrian might be short for Hadrianus, which means: from Hadria) 'Scáth' is Irish for 'Shadow' 'Noh' is the romanisation of the Japanese for 'Skill' or 'Ability' (Reasons for choosing this name is in Chapter Four: Familial Life) 'Snag' is Irish for 'Hiccup'/Gasp/Catch (in one's voice) etc, also used to mean a type of bird and often used with other words as the name of certain birds e.g. snag-breac = magpie. It is a 'hitch' in English, or something that sticks out and causes trouble. 'Holly' should be obvious enough, being the name of a genus of shrubs bearing blood-red berries. Incidentally, it represents protection, sacrifice, truth and luck, and it an important symbol in Celtic astrology. (The significant fact here is that holly used to be the wand wood of our main character, and that the snowy owl is a now a reminder of more than one important part of Hadria's old life.) The above information will be constantly updated as the story progresses, according to what can be revealed without being a spoiler. Anything below this line are stuff I found on the Profile pages of other Authors and decided to add to mine. Fanfiction: Because 87% of all original endings suck. Fanfiction: Because 95% of all plot twists are either predictable or stupid. Fanfiction: Because my favourite characters always die. Fanfiction: Because sometimes evil deserves to win. Fanfiction: Because sometimes authors just don't know which of their own characters go together best. Fanfiction: Because most authors aren't willing to write multiple versions of their stories just so we can see every possibility that arises. Fanfiction: Because all stories shouldn't have an ending; there should always be another adventure. Fanfiction: Because sometimes there's no one your age and gender who you can relate to. Fanfiction: Because sometimes you want to be in that story yourself. Fanfiction: Because sometimes you have no other way to express the ideas in your head. Fanfiction: Because it's an escape. |
