I hold a BA in English Education--so my grammar is "gooder" than most (I would hope!)

My Favorite Fan Fictions are ones that make sense (relatively speaking), and are well written.

My Hobbies include designing jewelry, dabbling in graphic arts, reading, and trying to enjoy life to the fullest.

I loathe with the fires of a thousand suns incorrect use of grammar, in particular the incorrect use of words such as "their, there, they're," etcetera. There is no shame in admitting to needing a BETA READER. Even I, an accredited Teacher of English, need assistance once in a while.

I am a firm believer of if you don't like it, then don't look at/listen to/read it.

When I say that in consideration of FanFiction.net, I mean it in terms of reviews that display the composer's angry or irritated feelings toward different fandom characterizations, themes, plot lines,etc., as well as horrid grammar/spelling mistakes and so on and so forth. Yes, its nice to try new fan fictions and all that jazz, but if you find you're not hooked by at least the first or second chapter, that should be a sign right there.

I am of the opinion that--barring general, polite, encouragement or polite discourse/discussion--comments that contain no constructive criticism whatsoever are rather pointless if their only purpose is to bash/verbally abuse the writer.

It is okay to disagree, respectfully critique, or make a salient point, whether it be a misspelled name, theft, or point out that something is offensive to the nth degree (that's what the REPORT ABUSE option at the bottom of every fan fiction is for), but there is absolutely NO reason for hazing.

This goes without saying for character bashing as well. We need to remember that the stories, characters, and universes we are borrowing are FICTIONAL, and that each of us, no matter how we may disagree, has the right to support certain pairings, characters, etcetera without someone flaming them.

I have considered converting to the wonderful religion of the Flying Spaghetti Monster, as I am 93.7 percent positive it could cure the majority of life's problems.

I have noticed that the more fan fictions in a category, the more the original work often times rates a 4 out of 10 on the absolutely fabulous scale. (with 1 = the worst, 10= the best)

Hello all! For those of you who are curious, I would like to apologize for the delay in updates. It seems when I said "getting kicked out into the real world" on my profile last year, I seem to have jinxed myself--finding a job, especially in education, has never been so rigorous. I did find a long term substitute position and work part time in retail--but now both are winding to an end as I look for more work.

In the mean time, I must confess that since last winter, the Doctor Who fandom has consumed me, and I recently published a fan fic in that category. I have not abandoned the other fics, but I shall try to finish them up before I publish another, no matter how much I long to! ;-)

In other news, it seems the site has been, er, "plagued" by overzealous critics of fan fiction seeking to enforce the TOS to the Nth degree. While I recognize and support following the rules, I am a little shocked that people have yet to learn to make exceptions for some cases.

Oh wait--no, I'm not. Shocked that is. Ignorance still breeds true, after all.

(I won't say stupidity, as we have not reached that level yet. One hopes.)

I think it is time Fanfiction.net had an overhaul of their TOS, because there is something that many seem to not be taking into account here.

While certain rules are in place to protect the younger writers on this website, we must also consider that the majority of the older accounts belong to those of us who have left adolescence and become adults, adults who still possess imagination and have the temerity to publish their writing for public perusal. This also means that tastes and outlooks on certain characters and series may have grown or changed with the knowledge and wisdom we may or may not have earned as we grew, and continue to grow.

I think now is a good time to recognize just how long many of us have supported this web site, and acknowledge that it is time to create both a teen AND adult friendly community on this website. Yes, we should protect our younger members, but exactly how far are we willing to limit the creative licensing--no matter how provocative or smutty--of our fellow community members?

On a personal note, I now have two jobs! W00t! I have also been writing multiple chapters at a time in order to reach my quota for the upcoming month. Fingers crossed!
