His passionate love for Elizabeth only mitigates this character flaw, resulting in the awful proposal at Hunsford. If happenstance forced Darcy to marry Elizabeth before he loved her, or even knew her at all, would he ever be able to get past his pride to recognise his fortune?

Jane and Lizzy must prepare to face an uncertain future. Mr. Bennet's death forced Elizabeth to accept Mr. Darcy's first proposal, but she is not happy about it. after three months of marriage, can Mr. Darcy's cousin help him to overcome his uncomfortable shyness around his new bride and actually confess his feelings to her?

If Elizabeth were like Mr. Darcy in a way, quiet and reserved but still stubborn and witty. If her family had connections and her parents were the kind you can love and be proud of. In this story I try to imagine what might have happened if Darcy had arrived at Pemberley just an hour too late to meet Elizabeth Bennet there while she was on her northern tour with the Gardiners. I had to make Georgiana less shy than canon so she can try to get them together again. HEA

A discovery in the Kellynch library gives Captain Wentworth greater insight into events of the past and the possibilities of the future prior to his re-introduction to Anne Elliot causing him to question his long held beliefs regarding their separation.

Follows on from Longbourn's Songbird. Col Fitzwilliam and Mary Bennet are to be married, and both Mr Darcy and Elizabeth are desperate to escape marriages their families are determined to arrange. Might they be able to offer one another a way out of their respective predicaments?

Just a silly short story inspired by a recent post on Drunk Austen. What would happen if you took the second line of your favorite novel-of any novel-and changed it to, "And then the murders started"? This is my answer. Elizabeth and Darcy drabble. Just a slight AU with the encounter between Elizabeth and Darcy at his Pemberley Estate. What if instead of finding Georgiana playing the piano, she encountered it alone and then decided to play it herself, only then to discover she was not alone?

The worst has happened. Two days after Mr. Collins married Charlotte, Mr. Bennet dies of chest pains. Livid that Elizabeth had refused him, he refuses to allow them to remain at Longbourn. Destitute, Elizabeth must make her own way in the world, but the world is not always a pretty place.

Mr Bennet intended to father a son, and the P&P story hinges on the fact that he did not. How might life have been different if Elizabeth Bennet DID have a brother? This tale is regency set, but my knowledge of the period comes from the glimpses Jane Austen has provided in her work. I have filled the gaps with my own imagination, so I cannot vouch for its historical accuracy!

Dr. Bennet, Lady Catherine's personal physician, has brought his family to live in the shadow of Rosings park to benefit from the attentions of his patroness. Headstrong Elizabeth seems to thwart the great lady at every turn, but for the sake of Anne, Elizabeth is forgiven–until she refuses to turn her back on Mr. Darcy.

An alternate tale of a classic love story had the protagonists' characters and circumstances been a little different.

Darcy discovers something about Lizzie on their first night together. Pretty much just a bit of Dizzie fluff.

Darcy does not accompany Bingley to Netherfield. Therefore, he does not meet Elizabeth until his first trip to Rosings, resulting in some major changes to the way their relationship develops.

When Elizabeth and the Gardiners visit Pemberley a year early, a bond of friendship and sisterly love forms between Elizabeth and Georgiana. The repercussions of this meeting change completely the way Elizabeth and Darcy interact once they finally meet.

What if Elizabeth and Darcy had both kept their tempers when he made his first proposal? Darcy might not have known why Elizabeth turned him down or written his letter to explain his side of the story. This story begins just as Darcy and Elizabeth are about to lose their manners, but decide to control themselves instead. Now a completed book available on Amazon.

Captain Wentworth told Anne he had considered contacting her after two years, after he had acquired wealth and success in the Navy. What if events conspired to reunite them after just two years?

Reg/AU. A story in which the rumors of Mr. Bingley's five sisters are true, and this changes everything and nothing all at once. Blackmail plots, compromise, scandal, romance, OCs, and an extremely loveable (but in character!) Mr. Collins. That's right, I said it.

A story about forgiveness and overcoming the obstacles of family, friends, society and their own pride and prejudices to find their happy ending. Fluff. Some characters are slightly OOC.

A mystery, that departs from P&P at the very end – Darcy does not return to Longbourn to propose to Elizabeth. At Jane's wedding he ignores her and after shuns her. Can Elizabeth discover why Darcy has turned against her? Is there hope of a happy ending?

Bingley tells Jane of Darcy's interference and she cannot forgive him. Elizabeth is forced to choose between her sister and the man she loves.

Mr. Bennet passes away shortly after Darcy's first proposal, so Elizabeth must marry him or allow her family to sink into poverty. She follows her head but her heart isn't far behind.

What if Lydia did not elope and Elizabeth stayed on at Lambton? Would Darcy have the courage to propose again after the disaster at Rosings? Would Elizabeth accept?

At a time when the eldest Bennet sisters should begin families of their own, life perhaps holds other things in mind along the way.

When an unexpected event disrupts the Netherfield ball, Mr. Darcy finds out that leaving Hertfordshire and Elizabeth Bennet behind is more easily said than done.

Not being able to breath the air at Longbourn after Mr. Collins' longwinded and insincere proposal, Elizabeth heads for the woods where she runs into an injured Mr. Darcy.

The Darcy's wedding night is a real eye-opener for the former Miss Bennet.

Darcy and Elizabeth's first winter at Pemberley promises both passion and heartache.
