Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter, and Pride and Prejudice. Alright so a little bit about myself :D Name: Toothless the great Pet Name: Ayo Age and Gender: None of your business :P Though i'll give you a clue, I'm writing my GCE (O/L) Examination in December 2015. Race and Religion: Sinhalese Buddhist. And i love Harry Potter, How to train your dragon and Dan Brown novel Fan fictions, oh yeah and the Inheritance Cycle. My life is really quite boring and my only respite is when i sneak away to write Fan fictions in my private little fantasy world. I'm a big fan of Harry and Hermione pairing by the way, I'll leave the reasons below including why I DO NOT like Ron and Hermione. so... Pairings I like: Harry/Hermione (Obviously), Draco/Astoria, Luna/Neville Pairings I hate: Ron/Hermione, Ron/Luna. (I just really don't like Ron, don't mind Ginny really but Ron...God! I can't stand him) Now on with my reasons for these pairings and such 1. Harry and Hermione They don't get into petty fights With all due respect to the many fantastic romantic comedies out there, two people who argue CONSTANTLY about the tiniest of details normally end up together, BUT let me ask you this, when people like each other romantically they don't fight till one bursts into tears nor does one constantly try to belittle the other, although they say opposites attract I personally think that Ron and Hermione might seriously need to consult some therapist because of relationship problems! Now on about Harry and Hermione: Ron and Hermione literally fight throughout the entire series and Harry even gets mad at them for always being at each other’s throats. When Harry and Hermione get into a fight when she rats out his broomstick’s origins to McGonagall, Harry makes up with her because he knows her heart was in the right place.Their friendship is always more important to them than being right, and this sets their relationship apart from Ron and Hermione’s relationship. They Understand each other In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Hermione makes the calculated decision to bring Umbridge deep into the Forbidden Forest in hopes that she would attract some dangerous magical creatures, and she does so by promising to reveal all the DA’s secrets. Harry is the first to realize that Hermione has ulterior motives and trusts her implicitly that she knows what she’s doing. In the movies, when Harry is about to make his final sacrifice to Voldemort, Hermione realizes instantly what he’s about to do and volunteers to go with him. That level of trust and love isn't present in any other character relationships. And it's very commonly known that Harry and Hermione seem to communicate without words. Hermione never gets jealous of Harry This point is last because it is perhaps the most important reason why Hermione should never have ended up with Ron. Ron was a great and loyal character who loved Hermione and Harry very much, but was so prone to dramatic mood swings and fits of uncontrollable jealousy that his best qualities were sometimes diminished. Hermione didn’t care that Harry was famous, or special, or the Chosen One — she cared if he was being a good person. And Harry was never once jealous that Hermione was the smartest student at Hogwarts. They respected each other’s individual talents enough to not let them overshadow the issues at hand (see: Voldemort). Although in the sixth book, the strong willed and determined Hermione Granger we knew was replaced by a petty, hormonal teenager WHO WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF CHARACTER, I don't know if JK Rowling tried to make her that way because she realized that the strong Hermione was too good for Ron or not, but it really destroyed some peoples respect in her character. Hermione chooses Harry over Ron When Ron succumbs to the pressures of the Horcrux and tells Harry he’s leaving because he’s lost faith in their mission, Hermione refuses to go with him. Why? Because Hermione absolutely trusts Harry and his plan, regardless of how it was currently unfolding. She didn’t need to see instant results to know it was the right thing to do. Although Ron regrets his decision almost immediately, Hermione never has to. She chose Harry because she believed in him more than she cared for Ron. Now onto other topics such as why i don't exactly like Ronald Weasley (This is from a site, and i didn't want to change the wording at all, so i copy pasted, it's really, really the same of what i think of Ron): When one first thinks of Ronald Weasley, the words red-haired and freckly come to mind. That, however, is only the surface of what proves to be a tricky customer. To the untrained eye, unused to spotting fatal traits, Ron Weasley may indeed seem like an adorable, caring, honest and brave fellow but sometimes one needs to look further than skin deep. When one first picks up the Harry Potter books, they are immediately thrown into the life of Harry Potter. When the reader is first introduced to Ron Weasley, it is on the train. The first glimpse of the Weasley family leaves the impression on the reader that Fred and George are happy-go-lucky folk and very cheerful and happy all the time, a true impression. The reader also gets the impression that Ginny is shy, which is also true. The first impression of Ron, however, is mixed. One sees a gangly, tall, red-haired boy who is obviously dissatisfied with his lot in life and determined to make friends with one who has had an interesting life, perhaps so that he can receive some reflected glory. How can the reader deduct this? After Ron asked Harry about the night he received the scar, Harry said he couldn't remember it. And then Ron says eagerly, ‘Nothing?’ This comment leaves the reader with the impression that Ron needs the thrill that will bring him out of his monotonous life. Ron’s reaction to Draco Malfoy on the train shows ingrained dislike for his family. This means that Ron is incapable of coming up with his own opinions and will take the opinion of others. Draco did not incite Ron’s anger; on the contrary, Ron first insulted Draco by laughing at his name. Draco seems like the type to react to how others treat him, so thus he reacted adversely. During the troll incident in the first book, Ron is very reluctant to go in search of Hermione. Instead he seems more worried about Percy catching them. This is a strong indication of selfishness. Before that incident, his attitude towards Hermione suggests a lack of tolerance for her intelligence shown by his insensitive remark, ‘She’s a nightmare, honestly!’ In the Prisoner of Azkaban, Ron is furious with Hermione over her cat, Crookshanks. Hermione loyally defends her pet, but Ron insists that Crookshanks ate his rat. Even when evidence is placed in front of him, because Scabbers (the rat) became sick right about the time when Sirius Black escaped, before Hermione got her cat, Ron refused to listen. That, altogether too stubborn attitude may prove to be his downfall someday. In the Goblet of Fire, the reader sees what is one of Ron’s biggest faults; his ignorance of other people’s feelings. This is shown by his treatment of Harry after Harry’s name came out of the Goblet of Fire. Instead of being a supportive friend when the Slytherins, Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws teased Harry, he turned away from his best friend due to feelings of jealousy. He couldn't see that his friend needed him, needed his support. His ignorance of others is also shown when he treats Hermione like she’s a last resort for the Yule Ball. He spent the time looking for good-looking girls and ignores his friend, Hermione. When he couldn't get anyone else to go to the Yule ball with him only then did Ron asks Hermione. This infuriated Hermione and rightly so. In both those incidents, Ron has a communication problem that might have lost him a friendship, or two. Ron is also very susceptible to the Dark Side, which is discussed further in J.L.Matthew’s essay, The Psychology of Ron Weasley. However, summarized it states that Ron is too ambitious without the means to achieve his ambitions. This, perhaps, is the reason for the formation of the group RISS, Ron Is Sodding Susceptible (to the Dark Side). So far, all events cited have happened in canon, but to elaborate on these feelings and tendencies, it perhaps might one day lead to Ron being unfaithful to his wife because of a communication problem. In conclusion, Ron has all the beginnings of one who will end up betraying his friends and everybody who he cares about. Now that isn't a trait to be liked, is it? Okay folks that's all I have about Ron and what not...seriously people may think I'm mad or delusional for pursuing the relationship that i like but I never was one to take other people's opinions of me to heart :) Ciao |
