Author has written 4 stories for Silmarillion, and Lord of the Rings. Hey there! I am Eryniel Alassë (or just Eryn for short), a lover of all things fanfiction and writing-related. I am your average teenage girl living in the United States, with a good memory and attractive looks. I'm a freshman in high school with a love for all my studies, but especially writing, science, and foreign languages, with a 4.0 GPA. I'm also part of the varsity swim team, a prestigious Mock Trial team, and the school orchestra (assistant concert master), so I guess you could say that I'm pretty well rounded. As for my personal beliefs, I used to be a Christian, but I am not anymore. Still, I hold to many of the basic morals that my childhood belief taught me with the exception of the ones governing sexuality and gender. I am a firm believer in "live and let live"—as long as it doesn't hurt or violate anyone else, then I don't see any harm in it. I am asexual, possibly aromantic as well. That means that matters of the heart are a grand mystery to me. But enough about that! I am more of a reader than a writer at heart, but I have written a handful of stories (duh) that are posted. I've also got several in the making and a few more that exist only in my head or as a rough outline. There's no telling where those beauties might end up! As for the fandoms I'm in…gosh, how do I begin? Easily enough, I guess: I'm forever and always in love with the world of Middle Earth, be it in the form of the Lord of the Rings, Hobbit, Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, or the Narn i Chîn Húrin. Originally, I thought that fandom (or collection of fandoms, really) would be my only focus when it came to fanfiction. After discovering Harry Potter and the multitude of stories that fandom had to offer, however, I lost my former opinion. I don't exaggerate when I say I know those seven books cover to cover, but I can never say that I have the same all-encompassing enthusiasm for them as I do for LoTR. Since seeing the movie, I also have gotten into Big Hero 6 stories. In the times between, I've sampled Sherlock and Supernatural, plus The Hunger Games, Star Trek, and Merlin. I also have a liking for Star Wars, but I need to brush up on my canon knowledge before reading much more. In addition to being an author and a reader, I am also a beta. I can also double as a canon-checker for some of my favorite fandoms, the ones I'm most familiar with. I'm extremely strong with grammar and punctuation, especially the mysteries of dialogue. If you're curious about asking me to beta a story, please check out my beta profile, which describes my style and preferences in greater detail. My C2, "Stories Actually Worth Reading," is the home of long, novel-length works of fiction—ones that are about 100K words, give or take a few thousand. These stories are ones that stand out for their exceptional mechanics, plot, and characterization. In addition, they must be complete or be in progress; I won't make readers subject to the disappointment of a beautiful but incomplete story. If you have any suggestions, please tell me and I'll check out the story. I do have quite high standards as to which stories I will place in the community, however. To anyone who might be curious about the state of "Trials by Fire," my current WIP, I can assure you that it is still in progress—I am working on it, but I want to complete it before posting. I'm on Chapter 15, about 65,000 words into it. As a time estimate, I'd say that it should be done in a couple months…but this little monster has been in the works for almost three years now, and it doesn't look like it's done yet! Well, is there anything left to say, really? I'm just a girl with a keyboard and love for writing who wants to share the results of those two coming together. I hope you find the results of my imagination to your liking, and please don't forget to leave a review on your way out! May the muses always smile upon you! Eryniel Alassë |
