About Me: I'm a third year college student in WI at the moment--a not-so-lone pagan at a Lutheran school. : P It's actually fun. I'm studying International Political Economy, with a double minor in German and Religion. With graduation (and post-college life) looming ominously in the near-ish future, my time to write fics is becoming less every day, it seems. On top of a major set back in the form of my beloved computer, Norbert, being murdered by incompetent computer technicians, I lost everything I've been working on for the last four years. That included the midterm papers due that week, which were crucial to my grade, and all my fanfic stuff, which is what pertains to you lovely people. I have a lot of hand-written stuff, but it takes time I lack these days to type it all, so as ever i have to beg for your patience with me. On the bright side, I have a ridiculous Winter break this year (over a month), so I'm hoping to make a real push towards publishing and--gasp--actually updating everything.

I have a love of old things: archaic grammar, classic imagery, period clothing styles. That said, I also like a lot of modern stuff, like hip-hop. My stories tend to mix the two together, though some I veer in one direction or the other.

I'm a witch, so I do try to work real magick and witchcraft into my stories where appropriate. I'm also obsessed with music, so a lot of my inspiration comes from songs. You'll notice most of my story titles and even chapter titles are actually song titles or lyrics. The rest of my inspiration is part personal experience, stuff I've read/seen/heard elsewhere, and occasionally something so random even I couldn't tell you where it came from.

I ship mostly D/G, though I enjoy reading about other pairings, too. I like OTP the best, since to me that's one of the main reasons fanfic exists. A Wealsey twin and Hermione, for example--or Luna! Draco and Luna are the oddest and one of the cutest. Cannon pairings are ok, but since they have the real author on their side, where's the point in writing them? lol

I also enjoy reading CCS fics, as there are some really good ones out there; I've tried to find Sailor Moon fics (I'm a Moonie in a big way) but for some reason it's hard to find ones that are decent. I'm sorta picky--if it doesn't have at least passably-decent grammar, then it had better have one hell of a plot. See below for some of my favorite authors who are guaranteed to give you a good read.

A NOTE On My Stories: I'd just like to say that, while I am not very good with updating, it is not entirely my fault. For most people, when they write a story, they mold it to fit a concept in their mind. For me, I just write what I'm told: I like to give the characters free-er reign than most, and so plots get away from me a little. Ok, maybe a lot. Prime examples: FLTF is being held up while I learn some gaelic, since the faeries got annoyed when I kicked them out of FMOW (they just didn't belong after the plot changed direction) and invaded. FMOW was looking as if it would make some good progress, with a lot of plot issues ironing themselves out, but now I need to work through the newest coupling: a rather odd pair that I've never tried to write before has decided to give it a go, and now they are demanding I write lots of scenes for them. Young love, I suppose. shrugs (I am well aware that I sound crazy, but since I am, I feel it only fair to give an accurate portrayal of myself.)

STORIES

Far Longer Than Forever A re-telling of the legend of Swan Lake, staring Draco and Ginny. Legends all have to start somewhere. History tends to repeat itself. And Faery Tales are called that for a reason...

Find My Own Way- Finally, I've posted this. It's the first story I've set out with the intention for it to be darker; it's going to take a lot of the angsty feelings from several of my other fics, so they can be lighter like I originally intended. Warning: this is a DARK fic. Suicide, death, manipulation, mental and physical abuse, and rape are either represented or alluded to. Rating may increase depending on how graphic I need later scenes to be. Also deals with homosexuality.

I Have Dreamed- Suspended. This was the first fic I ever started; it's been about four years or so since then, and both myself and my writing style have changed. This story is being reworked so that the beginning matches the end. Be ready for a new story--but not too soon, since as much as I love this one it needs a lot of work before it's what I want it to be.

StickWitU- The war ends, and many are left trying to pick up the pieces. Ginny and Luna need to find themselves, and leave for America. They aren't heard from again...Eight years later, England is preparing to welcome Cressa, a hot new singing star on the last stop of her first world tour, and Arven, the most sought-after choreographer in the music business. Are they ready to face their pasts? And is their past ready to face them?

Fallen Embers- The Whimsical is a decadent nightclub where rich men from both the muggle and magical worlds can go to be swept away in fantasy. In a world where secrecy is a way of life and the line between truth and lies is blurred, lives can change as quickly as a star shoots across the sky...

I have many others that are still in the very early stages of development. I come up with tons of ideas, both for new fics and stuff intended for ones I'm writing that takes off to become its own thing. Below are some (but not by any means all) of the ideas I'm bouncing around that have made it through the qualifications I set up in my head. (Basically, if the characters want to do it, they have to prove they are serious and that there's enough there to work with. I am not wasting my time because I watched a movie one of them thinks they could adapt to fit them as the main character.)

Once Upon a Time: Sometimes, life is exactly like a fairy tale...(I haven't really worked out the details of this one yet, but trust me, it's going to be fun.)

The Rose Bride: concept taken from Revolutionary Girl Utena. When the fate of the world reaches a crossroad and the balance of good and evil begins to shift, the Rose Bride appears, possessing the power to tip the scale. But which way will it fall?

Flame and Frost: a cataclysmic event rips Ginny's world apart, and opens a new future that may have the fate of the whole world hanging in the balance.

Can't Stop the Beat: (Slayer-verse crossover) Between the worlds of the wizard and muggle London, there exists a third world where magic meets mundane, where dreams and nightmares alike can come true. In the underground culture of nightclubs and gangs, a new order is rising, and a new threat is readying. And at the heart of it all is the beat.

The last two listed are making progress and are far more likely to be really written; the others are still stuck in the early stages. Also in the making are a Pokemon fic, a CCS fic set after the second movie, and a Digimon fic, all of which are on a backburner. Particularly the Pokemon and Digimon, as those require some research; I'm not as familiar with those universes as I am with HP.

AUTHORS (recommendations and advertisements)

Kerichi- So one of the best authors on this site! Her "Tale of Two Matchmakers" is one of the cutest and most thoughtful stories I have ever read. And the rest of her stuff promises to be just as good (this girl is a writing machine, and udates at least 2 stories every Friday, whatever happens, so I haven't had a chance to read them all yet).

Creative Quill- Her "Evanescence," the first completed post-HPB fic to come out and be finished after the release of the sixth book, is amazing. With a bit more detail in the JKR style, they could have just published the fic as the seventh book and been done with it. Seriously. Also check out her other stories, including the sequal to "Evanescence," and wish, as I do, that you had a mom that cool!

KayJuli- A CCS (Card Captor Sakura) author who is the whole reason I write. After a long period during which all her fics were taken off the site, she's back and better than ever! Slowly but surely, she's getting her stuff back up, so check her out to see how she manages to inspire her fans to the point that after 8 years (for some; I've only been reading for about 6) of following her story, we are willing to forgive over a year of them not existing and continued to encourage her until she decided to write again! Don't have the faintest idea what CCS is, or aren't a big fan? No worries: her plots just use the characters, but have nothing to do with the cannon. Her story "Gates of Dawn" is being edited and modified to be so seperate from CCS that it can be published after changing the names of the non-original characters. Learning Spanish? All her stroies are published in Spanish first (it's her native language), so you can multitask: read fanfic AND improve your Spanish!

Goddess of the Black Rose- ok, so this is my twin sister. But I have to tell you to read her fics. We throw ideas off each other, and I promise you, they are all going in great directions. Her new fic, The Power He Knows Not, is so awsome; also keep an eye open for her upcoming fic, a Buffy/HP crossover (trust me, if you've ever seen ANY Buffy, you'll like it). Looking for something new to read, and my list doesn't help? Try HER favorites list- she has something for everyone, having been a dedicated reader and beta for several years, even before I knew about 's existance. The only problem you might have is too many good fics to choose from.
