Curious facts:

Port Royal used to be safe haven for pirates, until Jamaica passed strong anti-piracy laws in 1682, turning the city into the place of execution. Five years later, Port Royal met with earthquakes, flooding and hurricanes, causing the majority of the city to sink into the sea.

White Star produced three luxurious, nearly identical ocean liners. Their names were Titanic, Britannic and Olympic. Titanic got all the publicity, and promptly sunk midway cross the Atlantic. Notable was that aboard Titanic, just before she sunk to the deep sea, there was a movie playing - a low-qualitypicture as they were back then, about a fictional, sinking ship named Poseidon. I don't know what they were thinking -- who wants to watch a movie about a sinking ship on a ship in the middle of the ocean? Of course, Titanic herself began to sank during the second time they were running the film. Britannic met her end during a war - by blowing up. Kinda fitting the name, I think. Olympic. however, sailed across the Atlantic for decades with no trouble what so ever.
