Author has written 35 stories for Resident Evil, Jak and Daxter, Dead Space, BioShock, Pretty Little Liars, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, O.C., and Outlast. Hi there! And welcome to my profile! Name: I don't mind EcoSeeker, or just Eco. Gender: Female Location: United States You can also find me on deviantART: Eco-Valenfield IMPORTANT AUTHOR'S NOTE: Hey, guys. So after doing some thinking, I've decided to delete some of my stories here, mainly because I haven't worked on them in a long time (some which I have lost interest in), and it's not fair to leave them up incomplete if I'm never going to touch them again. That's not fair to you guys, either, so I figured I'd give a heads up that I was going to be doing a profile clean-up. Here's a list of all the stories I've marked for deletion and will be starting as soon as possible: Blind Date Blood of the Hora Quan Dead Evil Haven High School: Senior Year Jak and Crash: The Warped and the Renegade My So-Called Haven Remember Me Six Flags: Dead Space Style! The Perils of Haven High Rapture: Paradise Lost Rapture: Interim Fall from Grace If you don't see a story on this list, then it's marked as safe for now. However, I am considering doing rewrites of older stories that are safe, but this is the list that I have in mind for now. Thanks for reading this! Hopefully, this will be able to help me be able to concentrate on my stories a little better. Wow, I can't believe I've been on fanfiction for eight years now! I never thought I'd end up sticking around this long, but I'm glad I did. It's been a blast writing stories and gaining an audience for my work, and I have all of you to thank for it. So, thank you to my loyal readers and friends for all your support! I really appreciate it and it motivates me to keep writing! :D Some of my hobbies are: reading, writing, playing the piano, playing videogames, traveling, and studying languages. In my spare time, I practice both Yoga and a little bit of Yang-Style TaiChi, even though I'm starting to lean more towards TaiChi. I find it very relaxing, especially if there's relaxing music to go with it. :) I also enjoy learning about science. Science has always been my favorite subject, and I think it's fascinating to learn about how our world works and what we can do to improve it. My favorite types of music: rock, alternative, soundtracks, classical, videogame soundtracks, and world music! My favorite TV shows: Pretty Little Liars, American Ninja Warrior, Caitlin's Way, Sister Sister, Jeopardy, Spongebob Squarepants, The OC, The Secret World of Alex Mack, Full House, and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air My favorite videogames: Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Jak and Daxter, Crash Bandicoot, Dead Space, Mass Effect, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Outlast, Prince of Persia, Just Dance, and Spyro the Dragon My favorite movies: I don't have any particular favorites, but I love action/adventure movies, epic fantasy movies (like LOTR or Narnia), and horror/thriller movies the most My favorite books: Harry Potter series, LOTR, Chronicles of Narnia, Gemma Doyle Trilogy, Hunger Games Trilogy, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Angels and Demons, DaVinci Code, Digital Fortress, Les Miserables, the Heir Trilogy, Inheritance Cycle, and the Demon King As you can probably tell by now, I'm a pretty relaxed and easy-going person. I took this neat quiz and it pretty much got my personality down to a T (from http:///psych_central): Calm You rarely become irritated, generally accept people as they are, take things as they come, and feel relaxed in most situations. You do not let a minor annoyance escalate to a confrontation. You don't regularly snap at those around you or fly off the handle with little provocation. Introspective You like your own company; you're a very interesting person. Tracking your own mental processes, knowing what you're thinking and why you do what you do, is important to you. Often, what's going on in your mind is more compelling than what's going on outside. For the most part, those with a high score on the "introspective" trait enjoy reading, taking long walks, learning new things, and other solitary activities. You are not someone who is constantly looking to be among a group of friends; you never feel bored when you are by yourself. Creative You are good at solving problems, coming up with original ideas, and seeing connections between things, connections that most other people miss. People with a high score on the "creative" trait often are employed in such fields as finance and scientific research, and enjoy avant garde and classical music as well as literary fiction and scholarly non-fiction. You do not shun abstractions and concepts in favor of the concrete and tangible. Intellectual You are thoughtful, rational, and comfortable in the world of ideas. People find you interesting to talk to. You're the living embodiment of the saying "You learn something new every day." In general, those with a high score on the "intellectual" trait are employed in such fields as teaching and research, and are enthusiastic about reading, foreign films, and classical music. You do not avoid abstract conversation, experimenting with new ideas, or studying new things. It bores you to stick to the straight and narrow of what you already know. Rational You see the world clearly and objectively. You know there's a logical explanation for everything, and a logical solution to every problem; which is why you're such a good problem-solver. You do not take your sweet time when presented with a new task to complete or problem to solve. You don't avoid assignments that require you to learn new skills. Organized You like to think a task through before you embark on it. If it's the slightest bit complicated, you make a list (even if it's only in your mind) and methodically work your way through it. When you have a goal in mind, you're not satisfied until you reach it. You are not one of those people who ignore the details, and you don't understand how anyone can get anything accomplished without thoughtful planning ahead of time. Optimistic You are a "glass half-full" kind of person, always on the lookout for the silver lining. Your happiness is contagious, which is why others like to be around you. You do not feel that the world is an intrinsically depressing place; you are not the kind of "realist" who thinks that only fools find joy in life. Aesthetic You appreciate art, beauty, and design; you know that they are not superficial but absolutely crucial to living the good life. You have good taste, and you're proud of it. Those with a high score on the "aesthetic" trait are often employed in literary or artistic professions, enjoy domestic activities — doing things around the house — and are enthusiastic about the arts, reading, and travel. You don't think it's pretentious to be moved by art and beauty. You're not one of those who believe it doesn't matter what something looks like as long as it does its job. Competent You strive to master everything you undertake. You tend to learn quickly and do not shy away from challenges. You are not a "que sera sera" type of person, nor do you go easy on yourself when attempting to master a new skill or get a job done. Astute You are a quick study. You generally don't need to have things explained to you more than once. When presented with a problem, you will often have an instant understanding of where to look for the solution. You do not take your sweet time when presented with a new task to complete or problem to solve. You don't avoid assignments that require you to learn new skills. More about me: Why do I write on my spare time? I love to share my ideas with other people, and lately, writing new chapters for my stories has become sort of like therapy for me. Things have been pretty stressful in my life, so fanfiction is my temporary escape from that. I also like getting involved with the characters, both canon characters and my OCs, and character development is one of my favorite aspects of writing! My opinion on writing OCs in stories: Having written OCs in a few of my stories, I can safely say I don't have an issue with that. I don't think it's such a crime to pair OCs up with canon characters, as long as they're done right and don't end up turning into Mary-Sues. I will try really hard not to let my OCs venture into that Mary-Sueish territory, so feel free to let me know if that's what's happened! In my opinion, I think the best way to make an OC well-balanced and just like a real human being is to have them run with the villains at some point. I think that's where the best character development takes place, due to the reader questioning their motives and morals. And the OCs themselves also have important decisions to make regarding which side they choose and their reasons for doing so. That's why my all my main OCs (listed below) all have some ties with the villains, even if they aren't direct ties. I also believe in writing strong, female characters in my stories. Maybe not necessarily being able to fight well, but being able to handle stress in a calm, collected manner (though if they know how to fight, that's a plus). I don't think women should always be portrayed as damsels in distress. My reasons for writing "sucked into the game" stories: As you can see in my story collection, I have some "people from our world get sucked into a videogame" stories. I know these sort of stories have a bad reputation on this site, since most of them, admittedly, appear to be nothing more than some sort of wish fulfillment for the author, whether it's to be more kickass in a videogame than in real life or to hook up with the hottest canon character in the game. The main reason I've written three of this type of story is to try and prove that a "sucked into the game" fanfic can be more than just a mindless self-insert. Yes, there is a little bit of romance in one of them, but I tried to develop the Canon CharacterxOC relationship realistically and not have them fall in love in seconds. I've also made the characters getting sucked in flawed, which I find more interesting than reading about a perfect character. I just wish people wouldn't take a look at this type of fanfic and immediately dismiss it, for I've read some that are really good. PS- Because there's an extra OC in these stories, some parts from the original game are going to be altered a little bit. For the most part, I like to stick to the storyline and not make too many changes, but sometimes, I have to in order to accomodate this new setup (and no, this doesn't mean changing the characters or canon love interests). If you see a change in the storyline, don't think of it as a plothole, but poetic license. Thanks for reading this! My opinion on constructive criticism vs. flames: To be honest, I don't mind constructive criticism. In fact, I welcome it. I understand not everyone's going to be immediately like, "I love this story!", or that not everyone is going to like what I've written period, and I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who don't like my stories. That's fine. What I do mind are flames (but then again, who would welcome flames?). If you're going to criticize something in my stories, you can do it without resorting to "THIS STORY SUCKS!!!!111" Not that anyone has, but this is just a word of advice from me. As for me giving the constructive criticism: I'm a nice reviewer, but if I see something I don't like in another story, I'll point it out. Or give words of advice if I think the story's going to take a particular direction. I don't like being harsh because I wouldn't want someone being harsh with me, but that doesn't mean I won't be honest when the time calls for it. Guest Review Request: Okay, so with the new formatting of the review system on fanfiction, I've been getting guest reviews on my stories, which I have set to be reviewed by me first before I let them show up on the review page itself. For anybody that's leaving an anonymous review but has a fanfiction account, could you please include your name in the review so that I know who you are? It makes it easier for me to know who you are so that I can decide how to respond to you. Thanks! My favorite pairings: Resident Evil: ChrisxJill LeonxAda JakexSherry Jak and Daxter: JakxKeira TornxAshelin ErolxKeira Dead Space: IsaacxEllie GabexLexine The Hunger Games: GalexKatniss FinnickxAnnie CatoxClove Pretty Little Liars (TV Series): TobyxSpencer CalebxHanna PaigexEmily JasonxAria The Croods: GuyxEep (special thanks to LianatheWingedDrummer16 for getting me to love both this movie and this couple! Check out the movie if you haven't already! It's really good! :D) The O.C.: RyanxMarissa SethxSummer SandyxKirsten I'll add more as I think of them, but yeah. I don't write a lot of romance in my stories, but I still have my fair share of pairings that I ship, even if they don't end up happening. Despite that, I only have two couples I've really written about: KrauserxOC (Resident Evil) and OCxOC (Dead Space). Some cool people I've met on fanfiction (in no particular order). These people are great to talk to about pretty much anything and have some awesome stories/ideas here. If it wasn't for them and various others I've met over the years, I wouldn't be where I am now, and I'm always grateful for their support. Check them out! Cartwright evolution-500 Paradise Eco MASTER T-REX AWESOME ONE V.1 SSSoto MY MAIN OCs (These are the OCs with roles as protagonists, deuteragonists, or tritagonists in my stories. I have a ton of other OCs that are just there for background): CLAIMER: These are characters created by me and only me. Do not use them unless I give you permission. Also, please do not ask me to roleplay with my characters. I prefer to write my characters the way *I* want to write them, and if I give my characters a certain personality, then it's pretty clear I want them to be a certain way unless I say otherwise. I know I'm basically doing the same thing on fanfiction: using other people's characters in my stories, but I try and stay true to them. I respect the original creators, who I'm sure took a long time to develop each character. I try not to change the original canon characters unless I absolutely have to, so I don't expect someone to change my characters. Below is a list of all my major OCs and their ages in parentheses (as of their latest story). I have created links from my deviantART page so that you can see their general appearance! Resident Evil OCs: Audrey Fagan (19) Alexis "Lex" Fagan (21) Jak and Daxter OCs: Paige Smith (19) Anna Franklin (19) Lena Anderson (21) Dead Space OCs: Dwayne Larson (26) Riley Bennett (22) Madison "Maddie" Kincaid (22) Sutton Fields (22) Marcus DeMaio (24) Lara Turner (23) Amnesia OCs: Felicity Dalton (13) Outlast OCs: Tyler "Ty" Wilkins (22) Emily "Em" Wilkins (22) Hannah Wilkins (54) Raymond "Ray" Wilkins (56) Vanessa Harper (84) Samuel Sorenson (33) Here is a list of all my major stories, both in progress and in the future! Action/adventure stories are my specialty, so that's what you'll mostly find from me: action/adventure with horror, suspense, or mystery (depending on what fandom the story is for!) I'm also beginning to try and write some humor stories, and I have a few romance stories. I've also got some angst and sci-fi stories as well. As you can see, I'm pretty much open to writing in any genre, but action/adventure is my favorite! Most of my stories are rated T (though I'm considering changing some of them to M), although I consider them to be high-T, low-M-rated stories. Major Resident Evil Stories: Secrets and Lies Trilogy: Resident Evil: The Other Side-Sixteen-year-old Audrey Fagan is a girl who's a little rough around the edges. She doesn't have a good relationship with her family, especially her mother's new boyfriend. But all that is about to change, and Audrey's trust issues are about to be put to the test when she gets pulled into her new Resident Evil 4 game. *COMPLETE* Resident Evil: Mistaken Identity-It's been a year since Audrey was sucked into Resident Evil 4, and things couldn't have been better for her and her sister, Alexis Fagan. But when the two girls get pulled into Resident Evil 5, they are thrown into a whole new adventure filled with drama, horror, and a sinister plot for world domination. Can the two girls find each other and survive? *COMPLETE* Resident Evil: Divide and Conquer- *Sequel to Resident Evil: Mistaken Identity* You'd think after being sucked into two games that my sister and I could handle anything, right? That nothing in Resident Evil could scare us anymore? Well, we were wrong. Dead wrong. Because we've been thrown into Resident Evil 6, and now, it's divide and conquer, or die trying. *ON HOLD* MY THOUGHTS: This series was the one that got me started on fanfiction in the first place, so it'll always have a special place in my time here. I've enjoyed writing about Audrey, Alexis, and their adventures in Resident Evil, and I hope to maybe do more with these characters, since they were my first official OCs here. I've been thinking of going back and rewriting the first two stories to fix any errors I might have made, as well as fix some characterizations I might have messed up. *UPDATE: As of 12/19/14, I have officially begun rewriting this series. I won't be posting a new story, but simply updating the old version I already have, and most of the main events and plot points will remain the same with just a few minor changes. This is more about cleaning up the writing, characterization, and adding more details. Major Jak and Daxter Stories: The Forgotten Legacy Trilogy: The Forgotten Legacy: Living in Sin-*CURRENTLY BEING REWRITTEN* The Forgotten Legacy: Fight the Power-*CURRENTLY BEING REWRITTEN* The Forgotten Legacy: The Last Charge-*CURRENTLY BEING REWRITTEN* NOTE: After getting back into the Jak and Daxter series, I've decided to go back and reboot my trilogy revolving around Paige Smith. What was once known as the "Breaking Free Trilogy" will now be called "The Forgotten Legacy Trilogy", and while the general plots of each of the stories will remain the same, there will be a lot of new content as well. I'm not sure if I'll just update the stories I've already posted or delete those ones and start over, but I'd like to have these stories written and finished before I get to that point. Major Dead Space Stories: Redemption Series: Dead Space: Into the Abyss-Timmy Stamford is a teenage boy who thinks he's all that and a bag of chips, not taking into account that his arrogant attitude does not endear him to his peers. The fates decide that he needs to be shaken up a little bit, so what's their answer? Pull Timmy into his new Dead Space game, that's what! Now with little time to escape the horrors of the USG Ishimura, Timmy must find the only person who can help him survive: engineer Isaac Clarke! Can Isaac and Timmy stay alive while plowing their way through hordes of never-before-seen monsters? And will Timmy learn how to deflate his ego a little bit? Only time will tell! *COMPLETE* Dead Space: Forgotten Memories-The sequel to "Dead Space: Into the Abyss". One year after the events of Dead Space: Into the Abyss, a changed Timmy Stamford is living his life, as usual, when he is suddenly thrown back into the Dead Space universe via Dead Space 2. Stuck on the Sprawl with the coming of an infection not unlike the one that ravaged the USG Ishimura, Timmy must now reunite with his best friend and hero, Isaac Clarke, as well as a new friend, a mysterious woman named Alexandra Adams, if he is to survive the impending disaster. Add in new Necromorphs never seen before, familiar faces, and the ever-increasing threat of a ruthless government and watch as this ride spirals out of control. *COMPLETE* Dead Space: Journey into Darkness- *Sequel to Dead Space: Forgotten Memories* He thought the nightmare was over. He thought he had finally escaped his personal demons. But when Timmy Stamford finds himself being hurled into Dead Space 3, he realizes that there are some things that can't be easily put to rest, and that now is the chance to take action...or lose himself forever. Rated T for violence and language. *ON HOLD* MY THOUGHTS: So far, this has been one of my favorite series to write on fanfiction, and Timmy Stamford has become one of my favorite OCs to work with. Even with all his flaws, he's the one I can relate to the most, through his outlook on life, the way he interacts with other people, and the way he learns how to respond to certain situations through observation and the mistakes he makes. I think he's the one that does the most growing up out of all my characters so far. Plus, Dead Space is currently my favorite game to write for, especially getting into the minds of the characters. It's been a really rewarding experience for me. Major Amnesia Stories: Dark Angel-Whenever Daniel thought of the Shadow, he always pictured a living nightmare that broke down reality and would be the death of him. The Guardian of the Orb, however, saw itself in a completely different light, and only wished that Daniel would do the same as it silently followed him wherever he went. A collection of stories detailing the Shadow's complex relationship with Daniel. *IN PROGRESS* MY THOUGHTS: So far, I've been enjoying writing Amnesia fanfiction. I've pretty much been using this fandom to step out of my comfort zone in many ways, and it's been great covering subject matters that I wouldn't have otherwise. I have a feeling this game is going to be the one with some of my darkest stories (besides Dead Space). Major Outlast Stories: The Asylum Games- All they wanted to do was find someone that could help them with their car. Or at least use a working phone in order to call Roadside Dispatch. But what starts out as a simple road trip gone wrong for two feuding siblings soon turns into a deadly fight for survival as they find themselves stranded near Mount Massive Asylum. *Rated M for violence, language, and sexual content* Possible Future Stories: Prince of Panem- Ever since the 35th Hunger Games, Coriolanus Snow has ruled over Panem with an iron fist, just like his father. Thirty-nine years later, Kestrel, his son, is prepared to follow in his footsteps...until the 74th Hunger Games and a certain Girl on Fire from District 12 threaten to change everything. (.• (.• |
