Hey. Wow, so, after a while of never looking at my profile, I just so happen to click the link for easy and less-confusing access to my favorited stories when I realized that my profile is completely blank. Haha, whoops?

Anyways, I am The Mermaid Queen but you can just call me MQ if you want. I am in my hectic last few years of college as an English major (creative writing option), so my updates and writing quality are probably sporadic at best. Sometimes real life likes to eat me alive at random intervals, too, so I apologize in advance for any sudden absences I take from writing.

I will say this, however: once I start a story, I never fully quit writing it. Even if it takes me a while (or forever) to write another chapter, I am working on it. Sometimes life just gets in the way, especially since I'm trying to juggle classwork in order to finally graduate as well as find a job. I will do my utmost to not drop a story entirely--at worst, it will lead to a hiatus (which may equal death in some reader's eyes, I know). The only time I will ever see myself fully dropping a story would be if I wanted to rewrite it entirely or if I wanted to pull out elements from it to create a different story.

About my writing, I will admit that I have a fondness for writing OC-centric stories. I won't apologize for this because that's just how I work. I like being able to mold a character to fit a canon setting just as much as I like creating my own universes because it tests the limits of my writing skills. To be able to create a character that feels like they should belong in a setting that is already well-known and beloved is always a victory to me. That, and I like messing with canon (For Want of a Nail, and by extension In Spite of a Nail, is practically my favorite trope). An easy way to do that is often by inserting a new element in, I would say. OCs are often my way of doing that.

Current Status:

Still writing Symbiosis, but real life has once again struck and so updates will be slow once more. My father lost his job and though he has managed to get a temporary one, things are tight around here and I am pressured more than ever to just graduate already and get a job in order to help support us.

I thank you, readers, for your continued patience and hope that you stick around. But I will understand if the waiting can be unbearable. Hopefully this won't throw me off track too badly, but things can get very unpredictable.
