![]() Author has written 76 stories for King Arthur, Rome, Alexander, Twilight, Kingdom of Heaven, Lord of the Rings, Troy, Clash of the Titans, 2010, Sons of Anarchy, Thor, Supernatural, Harry Potter, Avengers, and Hobbit. Ok then, where do I begin ? Well, I'm a scatty, fairly laidback Celtic bookworm who's totally hooked on slash fanfiction and believes laughter is the best medicine ... even though life can quickly turn around and bite you on the arse when you least expect it ! I love the following: MOVIES: King Arthur; The Lord of the Rings Trilogy; The Hobbit; Clash of the Titans (2010); The Three Musketeers (2011); Gladiator; Kingdom of Heaven; Alexander; Braveheart - ok, so I enjoy a good epic. Is that a crime ? Casino Royale; Skyfall; all of the "Bourne" movies, esp. Legacy; The Losers (2010); The Crow; 300; Sin City; Thor; Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters; Constantine; Bram Stoker's Dracula; The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones; The Mummy; The Mummy Returns; Kong: Skull Island; The Ninth Gate; the Harry Potter movies; Alice In Wonderland (2010); both Sherlock Holmes movies, ft. Messrs Downey Jr & Law; Black Hawk Down; The Hurt Locker; Wind River; Freebird; Still Crazy; Call Me By Your Name; God's Own Country; Brief Encounter; The Maltese Falcon, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and The Rear Window. Going by that lot, you've probably guessed I'm so not a chick-flick kinda gal ... MUSIC: boy bands in general (though mostly ones created by so-called "talent shows" on the idiot box that we're continually and often forced to endure, thanks to Simon Cowell, ugh); rap; garage; techno; any teeny-bop crap and the gods-awful, inanely pathetic drivel unrelentingly churned out by the extremely tedious Taylor Swift. So, that's me in a nutshell: a bit of a Rubik's cube personality, full of (well, mostly full of) darkness and a little glimmer of light. Someone who enjoys a good laugh and tries not to take herself too seriously as life's way too short ... XXXXXXXXX MY 'SHIPS a.k.a. XXXXXXXXX A "Knightly" Obsession: If you haven't already guessed, I'm a total Dag-aholic - just love the gentle giant to bits and was seriously hacked off when he died in the film. I also have a massive soft spot for Tristan. Was gutted when the film's powers-that-be decided to bump him off too. What were they thinking of ? Were they completely insane ? I can't believe they were daft enough to kill off the movie's most enigmatic character. 'Twas sheer lunacy in my humble opinion... Years later, I'm still "traumatized" by both deaths and still fuming ! The only thing that might appease me would be a prequel film set two years earlier, featuring most of the knights, by that I do mean Dag, Tristan, Bors and the incorrigible, yet adorable, Grumble Twins - and definitely NO annoying Guinevere - including a much wanted bath-house scene, which was conveniently ... uhm ... forgotten about or overlooked in the original movie ! A girl CAN dream, I suppose... XXXXX KING ARTHUR fic "cast" Ok, this might seem a bit crazy, but I've got into the habit of "seeing" certain actors as the Knights or other characters in my stories. MERLIN - one of the most versatile and interesting actors to grace this planet, Gary Oldman (picture him as he looks in "The Scarlett Letter"). NIMUE - Eliza Dushku. LUCAN - (o.m.c.) definitely the finest actor of his generation, Tom Hiddleston (see my profile icon for inspiration !) AERON - (o.f.c.) could only be Gemma Arterton (so kick-ass and as feisty as they come in "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters"). LAMORAK - one of Scotland's finest, Gerard Butler (so striking & works armour so beautifully in "Beowulf and Grendel"). YWAIN - a younger, though no less charismatic, Robert Carlyle. KAY - one of my favourites, the adorable Robert Sheehan (as in "Season of The Witch"). TOR - gods love him, Jason Isaacs (a la "Dragonheart"). ECTOR - one of the sexiest voices and under-rated character actors around, Sean Pertwee (see same character in "Camelot"). SAFIR - another of my favourite Scots, Tommy Flanagan (totally in "Braveheart" mode). PELLEAS - Velibor Topic (see "Kingdom of Heaven's" Almaric). ESYLLT - (o.f.c.) Lily Collins. XXXXX LURED Well, I've only gone and done it ... again ! I've stumbled across the "THOR" fandom, or more accurately, the brilliant and undeniably sexy Loki. Honestly ? I'm so hooked that I ended up scribing my own fics - mostly Loki-centric simply 'cause he's far too easy to relate to and empathize with - after swearing blind I wouldn't start dabbling in yet another fandom. But the lure of the Trickster's just too strong and I seriously don't have the will power to deny it ! (Personally, I blame Loki. He's impossible to resist. Whether it's BAMF! hard-ass Loki, snarky, super smart Loki, misunderstood Loki or just vulnerable, gentle Loki, I don't care ... he's just awesome and simply adorable. Basically, the God of Mischief now owns me, whether he realizes it or not !) Having an almighty crush on the very talented and extremely fine deity known as Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, doesn't help either ;D No matter how I look at it, I fear I'm doomed ... XXXXX Latest on the Writing Front I know ... I'm a bad, bad person for not updating for so long but the reason for this - not an excuse, btw - is that there's been quite a lot of family illness over the past year or so and things have been hellishly busy on the work front as well, so whatever spare time I've had has been a precious commodity ... I'm tentatively hoping, though not making any definite promises, to try 'n' get back into the saddle with my fics, though updates may well be pretty slow at times. 1) Compassion - I really, truly, genuinely want to finish this. So fingers crossed that I'll be able to 'n' not let down every one who's taken the time 'n' trouble to read 'n' review, favourite and follow Loki and Volstagg's antics. When I'll get to do this, gods only know, but I do mean to finish it at some point, I swear ... 2) There may be a sequel to "On The Outside Looking In" featuring Hogun/Sif, with possibly a little Loki/Maria H thrown into the mix as an added bonus. The ending for "OTOLI" was kinda left open for this. XXXXX |
