Chapter 14 – Deliverance

"Did you manage to intercept the signal before Shield could get a whiff of it? Because Tall dark and Frosty is ours and I want information on him."

"I did as told, Sir."

"The field is secure?"

"As secure as it could be. They will not find us until after we've gone."

"Thanks Jarvis."

"You're most welcome, Sir."

"Where is it coming from then? The signal, I mean."

"A little more East, Sir."

Tony eyed the beacon of hologram flickering in his helmet. Tony swerved through the sky, unseen in the dead of the night as he plowed through the clouds across the desert sand. He was nearing his target, and Tony felt giddy. He was never really fond of following orders.

He was directly disobeying Fury and hiding behind his back about his new project. Tony had to admit that Thor and Loki got the better of him. He found himself interested in the weird arts they showed. Loki especially when he showed up transporting from different places, and Tony had to admit even more that Loki seemed smarter of the two.

And safe to say, that he needed answers.

"I need you to fix that tracker."

"I am trying, Sir."

"Try harder."

"There is a strange interference."

"We've been over perfecting that." Tony complained. "Didn't we try that with the Bifrost thingy?"

"We can only do so much as so little time, Sir."

"Whatever," Tony rolled his eyes. "It's been nearly half a year since they came to Earth."

"Six and a half months, Sir." Jarvis provided.

"Thanks."

"Sir, the signal disappeared and turned westward."

"I do have the coordinates, right?" Tony asked as he turned around and headed the other way. "Are you sure it's here in Death Valley?"

"I am sure, Sir."

"Great," Tony huffed.

Tony saw something bright green flash before his eyes on the ground and immediately dove down towards it.

"I think we found what we're looking for."

He dropped and lifted his faceplate and saw his target lying on the ground, completely exhausted and limp. Loki only wore a thin black worn out tunic and loose pants, not like the ones Tony saw him wearing. These clothes were a little too downgraded for someone of Loki and Thor's status. So Tony decided to cautiously approach him.

He didn't know Loki that well and Loki did not know him. There was only contact between Thor and his warrior friends, which of course, Shield could never hide from Tony after a little snooping in the main frame.

Anyways, Tony dropped down to his knees to check Loki's pulse and found a steady but slow beat. Tony let out a sigh of relief as he checked Loki's injuries.

"What the hell happened to you, Frosty?"

He saw Loki had several burn marks underneath his tunic and Tony guessed a few broken bones judging from his entrance. Tony doesn't even want to get started at how exhausted and dead Loki looked.

"What am I going to do, Jarvis?" Tony asked. "I wanted to talk to him, not babysit."

"You could always hand him over to Shield, Sir."

"Yeah," he nodded. "I could do that."

He gently picked Loki up bridal style and stood up.

"But I'm not going to."

His faceplate slammed to a close and he stood with his feet apart. He had a serious expression underneath the faceplate and decided what he had to do. He shot up into the sky, and eyed Loki nuzzling to him with a small bit of comfort. He was careful not to fly too fast or too high. He had to weigh the pros and cons of having an Alien welcomed in his home. One thing's for sure, he knew that Pepper was going to have a fit, and he didn't even want to think about what Shield would do if they knew.

"Have my lab prepped with first aid," Tony ordered. "We have a guest arriving."

"Of course, Sir."

Loki groaned in his arms.

"Keep sleeping, Frosty." Tony sighed. "We're a long way from home."

Little did Tony know; that Loki had long since been away from home. Without Thor's explanation to how they disappeared forever six months ago, they would never know. But now an explanation presented itself and Tony wanted to be the first one to know. Even if it meant breaking all the rules.

"You'll thank me for this later."
