I have never actually eaten a leechi nut, which can alternately be spelled litchi or lychee or any number of other ways. But the truth of the matter is, no one else has had one (however it's spelled) either, because the litchi chinensis produces a fruit, not a nut. It's one of those common misconceptions, like the tomato being a vegetable--'tis a fruit--or the peanut being a nut--in fact a legume. Nonetheless, I'm told it's quite delicious. FYI.
