When Merlin is in danger, Arthur comes to the realization that Merlin is more important to him than he thought.

AU after the return from Neverland. For once in Storybrooke, everything is fine, but despite that, Emma decides that the Storybrooke Sheriff's Department could use some help.

This is a sequel to Memories Between Dreams (you probably won't understand what's happening here unless you read that) which started as a prompt by captainsasschabod on Tumblr and I filled it because I apparently needed it in my life. This will follow the story arc as we know it, but continue the theme of the dreams.

Emma only has one memory when she wakes up in a hospital bed, one that she can't be sure is even real. One year later, faces that have haunted her dreams finally find her, claiming to know her true identity and sprouting off desires to transport her to another world. Emma hadn't meant to do it, but that didn't mean she was going to apologize for it either. She had saved their lives after all. Just, you know, not without trapping herself and Hook in a magical bubble that didn't really seem all that intent on letting them leave. Wonderful.

Everyone is back in Storybrooke, Emma convinced herself that she still love Neal and that being with him is the right thing to do. But one day she saw Hook and Tink at Granny's having lunch, comfortable with each other and happy. She got jealous but ignore it. But she could only hide/ignore her jealousy for far too long.

Emma is having a really bad day. Inspired by the song "This year's love" by David Gray.

When Emma kisses Killian (and it's not nothing).

"Mate?" Killian asks after a while. Busy reading and drinking his coffee, David only hums in acknowledgment. "Can I ask you something?" Another hum. "How did you know? That what you have with Her Grace is true love?" David chokes on his coffee.

He had died to save her countless times. Maybe it was her turn to die for him.
