oh. i'm smiling, but my eyes are filled with tears. beautiful and horrible and perfect.
i love that arthur wakes knowing something is wrong. and merlin reassuring everyone that the eclipse is perfectly natural, even laughing at a dragon-related story, wonderful build-up of tension. and the interspersed italics of incredibly dark!merlin, after centuries of waiting... but there at the end, the brief glimpse of going back in time to his young self proves enough to keep him waiting, set him back on the path...
i confess, i did wonder, whether arthur or merlin or gaius might not remember what merlin had said about camlann (death, failure)... whether that might not be enough to alter the course of events with their first lifetime...
*sniff* okay, back to my own work, now. :)

I was reading this yesterday, just when I was about to go sleep and I have to say that it was far more amazing than I expected. I really loved this story and the whole idea of Merlin returning back to his younger body. And all those feeling you gave me there and the hug and bromance... yes, I cried :) Very beautifully written story, I enjoyed it! :D (I need to buy new handkerchiefs, probably)

That left me speechless... The ease at which you tie your words together is simply unbelievable. The entire story was great but the parts from Merlin's dream were so rich with elegance and beauty. Just wow... :)

Wow! Amazing story!

Wow. Just wow. This was breathtaking and heartbreaking all in one. The thought of what Merlin would go through, in his endless years of waiting is something that has intrigued me for a while now, and in this one story, I think you've nailed it perfectly.

I love the structure of this, how you weave the modern, aged Merlin with the medieval, youthful Merlin's timelines. The notion of the old Merlin, so desperate to see Arthur one more time that he finds a way to go back into his own timeline and possess himself, just for a brief glance is so brilliant. Amazing.

Wow, this is one of the most amazing one shots I have ever read. Just the way you wove your two points of view together really heightened the different emotions in them. I also loved your choice of diction, it also added to the mood. Such detail, too. I don't have enough words to describe how well this was written.

This is stunning, simply stunning. The structure of the story is incredible and the way that the style of writing corresponds so beautifully with the future Merlin and the characters in the past is masterful. A powerful, emotive and truly moving piece of work. Welcome back!
