A/N: Hello my lovelies, I'm sorry I'm a few days behind, but I do have a lot of stuff on the verge of being finished, so I hopefully should catch up. This one's very vaguely Christmassy, but it's some fluff and humour, so I hope you enjoy. Song and OUAT not mine.
The Power of Love
It was late Christmas Eve, and Emma pulled herself out of bed as she realised the spot next to her was empty. She headed towards the nursery, as she could hear a man singing softly. Sure enough, as she leant against the doorway and peeked into her daughter Leila's room, Emma could see her being cradled by the man who had left her bed.
It was still a little strange to think that the feared Captain Hook was also Killian Jones, doting father, but to Emma, it made perfect sense. After coming back from the past with him, defeating the Snow Queen and countless villains, Emma had slowly learnt to let him in.
It had been the best decision she had ever made. Though they had cautiously revealed their more tender sides to each other, they had quickly fallen deep in love. Surprisingly, no-one seemed to object to the pairing
Killian proposed exactly two years after they had started dating , and they set the wedding for six months later. By the time it came round, Emma was already six weeks pregnant. When she had found out she was pregnant, she had had a major freak out that it was too soon, but Killian and her parents convinced her that it was all going to be fine.
Gazing at her tiny daughter in her husband's arms, Emma knew that they were right. Quiet moments like this were more than fine, they were perfect.
Emma smiled as she recognised the song Killian was singing.
I'll protect you from the hooded claw
Keep the vampires from your door
When the chips are down I'll be around
With my undying, death-defying
Love for you
His sincerity brought a tear to Emma's eye.
She knew Killian would do anything for his two girls, or Henry, and had proved it on many occasions, but hearing him sing that promise to Leila still touched her.
Emma finally stepped into the nursery. Killian looked up at his wife and smiled.
"I didn't mean to wake you," he murmured, returning his gaze to his daughter, "Leila was fussing, so I thought I'd keep her company for a while."
Emma shook her head.
"You didn't wake me, I think my body just realised it didn't have it's usual hot water bottle," Emma replied softly, "And of course she's going to fuss, she wants to stay up for Santa."
Killian raised an eyebrow.
"I'm not sure she's quite old enough to understand the concept of 'Christmas' yet"
Emma stuck out her tongue.
"You weren't the one who had to put up with violent kicking every time you put your hand on my bump," Emma teased, "She's smarter than she looks."
The pair of them both stared down at the baby with tufts of jet black hair and green eyes, then glanced at each other.
"I don't know love, she looks pretty smart to me," Killian noted with a smile "The perfect mixture of pirate and princess."
Emma rolled her eyes, but her facial expression softened when a thought flitted across her mind.
"What is it love?" Killian inquired gently.
"I just realised, the only present I ever used to ask for, I don't need to ask for any more."
Killian pulled her into his side with his good arm, allowing Emma to help him support Leila.
"And what would that be, lass?"
Emma gazed up at her husband.
"You. Henry. Leila. Mom and Dad. A family to love and be loved by. And this little one is the final piece of the puzzle."
Now Leila was asleep, her parents placed her in her cot, returned to their own room and climbed into bed. Emma snuggled into Killian's chest as he ran his fingers through her hair.
"Emma, when you say 'the final piece of the puzzle', does that mean you don't want any more children?" Killian's voice rumbled around her.
Emma lifted her head to stare at her husband.
"I'd like one more," she said wistfully, then she narrowed her eyes, "How many were you thinking?"
Killian paused for a second, wishing his wife didn't have a built in lie detector for the first time since they had met.
"Three?" he admitted.
Emma shook her head.
"Not happening, the highest I'll go is two. No way am I putting my body through three more labours"
Killian considered this.
"Deal!"he confirmed.
Just over two years later
"I have some news Mr and Mrs Jones, you're pregnant with twins!"
"Twins! Excellent!"
"Excellent? Killian, we talked about this! We had a deal!"
"Owwwwwww!"
"Serves you right you smug.."
"Henry, why are mummy and daddy having a pillow fight?"
"Well Leila, sounds like Dad unintentionally got his way...so Mum's mad at him."
"Henry, give me Liam, I need protection from your mother."
"Killian Jones, get your ass back here!"
End note: See you next time!
