Author has written 2 stories for Mass Effect. I'm terrible at profiles! If I were a reader, looking at a writer's profile, it would be to find out the answers to specific questions: What are they like? What do they write? Why, and also, How? I don't know that I can answer those. Here's what I can tell you: I don't like writing fantasy. I prefer science fiction, because I believe in a causative universe. That means that effects follow naturally and consistently from causes. Events may be unexpected by the characters, but these events are never really "sudden" or "random". You can do this with magic and fantasy, but it's a little harder to get right. I grew up in a military family, and spent the first 15 years of my life living on military bases.. I didn't return to the United States until later, by which time I'd missed out on a lot of the pop-culture stuff that all of my peers took for granted. I've lived in the united states for the last ~20 years, but there are still some pop-culture references that escape me. When I write, I'm obsessive about character dialogue; I read it over and over in my head, in the character's voice, until it sounds right. For that matter, I use both the Oxford comma and the spoken-word comma somewhat interchangeably. What does that mean? It means that I use commas whenever there would be a natural pause for breath or emphasis if I were telling you this story in person. If that kind of thing throws you off, I'm not sure what to say - maybe try imagining that the story is being narrated by someone whose voice you enjoy? Dunno, but I'm not going to change anything, so there's no use complaining about it. I don't write exclusively F/F relationships, I promise. I'm not opposed to regular M/F pairings, and I usually prefer them. It's just that sometimes, the characters are practically BEGGING to be given the chance to do something else, and I like to explore strange ideas. I have an account on FanFiction.net and on Archive of Our Own (ao3). I am currently in pre-production for a Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles fanfiction epic of indeterminate length; please contact me if you are interested in discussing worldbuilding. |
