![]() Author has written 13 stories for Final Fantasy I-VI, Ace Combat, Final Fantasy XII, Legend of Zelda, Advance Wars, Final Fantasy: Tactics, and Mass Effect. Writing fanfiction has been one of the greatest fun of my life. I've moved from fandom to fandom, forum to forum, website to website writing a lot of different things over the years, some of which will never see the light of day again. While I was never super popular, I found some success here and there. Exoria was a really big hit for me at 309 reviews. The Miracle at Palaven didn't get as warm a reception here, but netted me some acclaim on SpaceBattles and several subreddits. It was never posted here, but I wrote a quest - a long-form interaction fiction along the lines of Choose Your Own Adventure - for Final Fantasy Tactics called Stand and Watch Them Fall that went over two million words and accounted for the most productive two years of my life, two years of consistently writing 50,000 words a month. It was all great fun. But as I grow as a writer - and as I've grown old, honestly - I am increasingly drawn towards the attempt to fulfill my dream of writing professionally. The embarrassing thing to admit is that my now accounts for a vital part of my poor millennial income. This necessitates a move - albeit a fairly welcome one - to original fiction. My main writing project at present is On the Road to Elspar, another long-form interactive fantasy coming-of-age quest about a young dryad girl training to become an elite mercenary in defense of her homeland against an invading superpower, only to slowly learn that the war is quite possibly about competing nationalisms defying any easy description of good-versus-evil, and that her homeland may not be as perfect as she had once thought. I'm also writing a commission, Intercessor, an isekai space fantasy original fiction about an impoverished, underappreciated female mechanic being transported into a world where she's surrounded by cute kemonomimi girls. (Both On the Road to Elspar and Intercessor can be found on Royal Road as well.) For the near foreseeable future, I will not be returning to fanfiction. But I don't want to discount how much fanfiction has played in my growth as a writer, and I am forever grateful for my readers, fans, and supporters, both those who have moved on and those who are still with me, for having stuck with me for all this time. I hope my writings brought some modicum of happiness into your lives. May there be wind to thine wings, and may you always be entertained. EDIT: I just realized that none of those links above work because of FFNet's hyperlinking system. So please feel free to search for the titles of any of my works; I'm known as Kei or Meido Geometry elsewhere, and I'm active on Sufficient Velocity, Royal Road, and SpaceBattles. Thanks for your attention. |
