Author has written 45 stories for Sonny with a Chance, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Titanic, Shiver, Maggie Stiefvater, Hunger Games, and Once Upon a Time. CONGRATULATIONS! You are the lucky recipient of a VIRTUAL HIGH-FIVE! To ensure complete enjoyment of your Virtual High-Five, please follow the instructions listed below. 1. Maximize the image (preferably of an open hand) so that it fills your entire computer screen. Depending on your screen size, the hand may appear freakishly large or small. 2. Place your hand in the air in front of the hand on the screen. Fingers can be slightly splayed or together depending on your preference. 3. A declaration of intent needs to be stated. There are many different ways to declare that you are about to issue a high-five. "Gimme Five!" or "High-Five!" are common declarative statements of impending palm slappage, while the less common "Slap me some skin" or "Up high" are also acceptable. 4. Strike your hand against the image on your screen to recieve your Virtual High-Five. This may also be accompanied by an exclamation of enjoyment. (Note: Computer screens can be fragile, so strike at your own risk. This author is not liable for damage caused by overzealous Virtual High-Five recipients.) Enjoy! [Let it be understood that the creator of the Virtual High-Five originated at The Platypus Society-The most read blog on the internet.] Hmm... Hello. I'm a person, from this one place in this one area of this one planet, at this certain age. And I write. Words, generally, but I try for a variety. So. Oh! Follow on Tumblr at slothsareawesome DOT tumblr DOT com. If you need help figuring out what the 'DOT's are... please. Get off the internet. God bless. About my stories: The Only Thing: Category: Sonny With a Chance Plot: Sonny and Chad are leading their lives as famous teens when, as the most cliche plot twist ever, they're burdened with pregnancy. (Oh no! Didn't see that coming!) There's lots of drama, people employ histrionics at the most inappropriate times, and there is inevitably a split between the pair. Shocker. So old and immature and poorly written that I've considered taking it down numerous times only to decide against it because it reminds me of how much I've grown in my writing. Or at least, how much I think I've grown. Some may disagree. Oblivious: Category:Sonny With a Chance Plot: Tawni attempts to get Chad and Sonny together because they are, well, oblivious of the tension growing and the strong desire. Yeah, that sums it up. With generic writing skills, a wicked-awesome vocabulary (ha!), and the use of ALL CAPS at times, I've managed to write a piece that, as I look back, makes me wish I had waited another three years to start writing. Also been considered as firewood, but it's electronic and is a reminder that I've grown, so it's safe. For now. (Seriously, I get down on my knees and ask forgiveness for writing it...) L.O.V.E. Regrettably: Category: S.W.A.C. Plot: There all pretty much the same. Only this one has something to do with letters that end up in the wrong hands, if I remember correctly. Sonny's secret love is revealed and they fall in love, ride off in the sunset, do who know's what and enjoy themselves. I think. I'm not even sure I finished this one, but that is inevitably the ending because at that time I gave everyone happy endings. It's seriously not even worth mentioning how horrid it is, so... Prince Charming's a dream come true?: Category: S.W.A.C. Plot: There wasn't one. Kidding. Well, sorta. Sonny doesn't believe in Prince Charming (which is incredibly OOC since everyone knows she's a hopeless romantic) so who better to cure her illness of the heart than CDC? As I write about these old fics I realize that I've blocked my memory of them out completely so I can't even really tell you what happened without re-reading them. That will result in me sticking my head in the sand like an ostrich as I wait to die of shame. Get Back: Category: S.W.A.C. Plot: Pretty sure this was a song-fic. Which are now illegal. Sonny and Chad broke up; Sonny and Chad get back together. End scene. I managed to make things worse for myself by leaving those little author's notes in the middle of the story (what was I thinking?) and by switching point of views more than I switch batteries in my camera. That's saying something. A short excerpt of how skilled I was at detailed writing-- "She's smiling? She should be mad! I'm offended."--There you have it. A whole paragraph! I'm an idiot. For All You Know: Category: S.W.A.C Plot: Sequel to my first story. Technically unfinished, but I doubt I'll pick it back up. About Sonny and Chad reuniting, the little ones getting involved in their lives together. At this point, my writing began improving. It wasn't prefect, still isn't, but there was major adjustments made. As in, I actually put forth some effort. I had trouble with tense but I can ignore the minor issue when compared to past stories. Characters began developing depth. Still not something I would recommend to read, but it showed potential for me at the time. White Liar: Category: S.W.A.C. Plot: Another song-fic. Totally illegal. Plot has begun to develop something resembling substance. Rather than Sonny and Chad being romantically involved, she's caught him cheating on his girlfriend. In the ultimate test of loyalty and the belief that all human beings have goodness and a conscience somewhere deep down, Sonny assists him in covering his mistakes then turns around and covers him in guilt. I made it sound more epic and interesting than it actually is. More hope for my writing is revealed, thought it's not much. Soldier: Category: S.W.A.C. Plot: Sonny and Chad, slightly older and more intimate (as in, they aren't just two hormonal teenagers fighting the tension) face the separation and loneliness that war-time presents. With Chad overseas, the soon-to-be mother of his child sits at home, drowning in worry and longing. Chad is declared MIA and is assumed dead and Sonny's left to pick up the pieces. After some revisions to the plot and after filtering out errors, this piece might actually be worth something. I may consider going back to rewrite this story. Hollywood Isn't Forgettable: Category S.W.A.C. Plot: None. It's just short bursts of crappy poetry. If someone ever told you I was a poet, they were either stupid or a liar. Burning Truths: Category: S.W.A.C. Plot: A one-shot set months after a, well, bad break-up. It was a Chad-cheated-on-Sonny kind of deal. The focus is mainly on Sonny and I got a lot of praise from it, but it's not my favorite piece. Not too shabby; is worth the read if you're looking for an amateur attempt at angst. The God's Gift: Category: Percy Jackson and the Olympians Plot: Percy's given immortality. Yes, it's one of those. What can I say? I'm big on cliches. Well, the plot was all over the place and I was just half... erm, I was just putting in half of the effort that I should have. The Soul Thief: Category: PJO Plot: The first story with a hint of originality. One of Hades' minions, the Soul Thief, collects the souls of youth and those who passed outside the realm of natural causes (car accidents, murder, etc.) In order to escape the grasp of death, Percy makes a deal with the devil. He takes on the full duties of the Soul Thief, wandering the Earth looking for his next target. He just wasn't expecting one to be such a challenge. Paid explicit attention to detail. Tone was kept sarcastic. Incomplete. That's probably the only thing that keeps me from suggesting this as a story worth reading. No Good: Category: PJO Plot: A story following Hephaestus as he attempts to rule technology, his workshops, his sanity, and his wife. All tasks that he fails at, but who can blame him for trying? Incomplete. Again, the only reason it should be left alone and unknown. Almost Lover: Category: PJO Plot: Percy's greatest 'What if?' lived out. Because I didn't completely hate Calypso for falling for Percy and stealing his attention from Annabeth. Again, incomplete. Common theme. I have issues, okay? Finally Broken: Category: PJO Plot: Annabeth's hit her rebellious stage, lashing out against her godly mother. She wants to live in spite of Athena. And who better to help than the boy who's very being makes Athena's blood boil? Major improvement in writing skills. Pretty sure this one is also incomplete. Her Fight: Category: PJO Plot: A glimpse through the eyes of Thalia in her final moments as she defends the only people she's sure she loves. Testing a new point of view--second person--and the first time I wrote for Thalia. Pretty decent one-shot. Still Breathing: Category: PJO Plot: A blind, but fully functional Percy struggles to survive the life of a demigod. Incomplete... It's getting embarrassing, having to say that over and over again. Lucent Seas: Category: PJO Plot: Sally and Poseidon sitting on the beach, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. Yeah. I went there. Definitely recommended, despite its status of 'In-Progress'. Peleus: Category: PJO Plot: A one-shot all about what Peleus, the dragon sees while he sits, guarding that tree. I know it says there's two chapters, but only one is worth reading, honestly. And yes, I highly recommend that one chapter. So go! Moments: Category: PJO Plot: Annabeth feeds Percy all of the memories that he lost after being kidnapped by Hera. Doesn't take into account the second book. I think this is actually my favorite PJO story that I've done so far. It's well-written (at least I think it is) and pretty original. It is, unfortunately, incomplete. Elate Sto Spiti: Category: PJO Plot: Meant to be a one-shot but something in me made me work the ending into what should've been a three-shot. After Percy's death, Annabeth seeks solace. Minor errors in spelling and grammar. Incomplete. Rushed. Just not my best overall, but can still be enjoyed I suppose. Cliche: Category: PJO Plot: A series of one-shots in which I take all of the cliches that have come from the PJO fandom and beyond and attempt to make them original. I've been told that this is definitely worth reading; even the most overused plots ever can be fresh and creative. Check it out. Silent Reverie: Category: Titanic Plot: If Rose had just stayed on the life boat, the outcome would've been tremendously different. Meant to be a two-shot, but remained a one-shot. Definitely worth reading. Well, I think so. Exposure: Category: PJO Plot: An AU story. Can't really be described without giving away all of the plot twists and such. Minor themes discussed: drug abuse, premarital sex, teenage pregnancy, alcoholics. A coming-of-age story. Here's a tip: if you ever plan a story out of rage/hurt cause by someone, don't write it. Eventually, when it stops mattering, you run out of fuel. You can't keep going because the story just begins to exhaust you. Special Olympians: Category: PJO Plot: Tyson participates in the Special Olympics. Percy picks a fight. The word 'retard' doesn't belong in anyone's vocabulary. Anticipate: Category: Shiver Plot: Sam visits his mother in jail and attempts to smooth things over with her. Not everyone in the world can be sane. Sorry, but it's true. Set before 'Forever'. Not Tonight: Category: Shiver Plot: Set during 'Shiver'. Sam stays strong and keeps Grace at a distance. That distance is at maximum two centimeters, but it's a start. I just love this pairing too much. If you've never read the series, I highly recommend it. And the World Turned: Category: PJO Plot: A series of 50 sentence mini-songifcs. Kind of cute; extremely character-based. Check it out if you're in the mood for an easy, short, cute read. Hall of Fame: Category: PJO Plot: I gather all of the best fics from the fandom into one story, to prove that it hasn't been lost to Mary-Sues and Gary-Stus. There are still good/great writers around! This turned out to be an extremely difficult task... Expectations: Category: PJO Plot: Briefly dwells on all of her past let downs and lays to rest all of her hopes on the shoulders of that one boy. Mostly a fic about Annabeth, but there is a short mention of Percabeth. Definitely something worth reading, if I do say so myself. Fascination: Category: PJO Plot: An incredibly perverted, totally indecent thought can't seem to leave Rachel's head, especially when he's decked out in a 'Kiss the Chef' apron. First attempt at Rico; apparently this surprised people. They didn't believe me until they checked out my other stories. Huh. Insomniac Interpretations: Category: PJO Plot: While on the hunt for a wedding gift in a neighbor's attic, they bond in a bathtub. Bathtub bonds are undeniably unbreakable. Winner of the third Prompt. White Rain: Category: Hunger Games Plot: One-shot, post-Mockingjay. When Katniss finally learns to love whole-heartily, unconditionally, unexpectedly. (Major Peeniss!) In my opinion, the best thing I've ever done. I love this piece with all of my heart. Evermore: Category: HG Plot: After his high-jacking, Peeta begins to see the light in Katniss again. Considers that he might love her. The praise for this story, though not as numerous, was pretty equal to that of 'White Rain' so obviously it might need a little more love, if you get what I'm saying. Expendables: Category: HG Plot: Where Peeta fights off his inner mutt immediately after Finnick's--ahem, death (HE CAN'T BE FINNICKING DEAD!)--with the help of Katniss. No matter what anyone says, Finnick lives on. Forever. Love You Are to Me: Category: HG Plot: Gale and Katniss, post-Mockingjay, hash out old heartbreak and dance around the haunting memory of Prim. Because he was never really the bad guy. He was just the one who had to step out of the way. Speak Volumes: Category: HG Plot: Faulkner-style. A peak into the mind of Lavinia, the Avox, as she silently bets on the Girl on Fire. She is so loud. Pristine: Category: HG Plot: post-Mockingjay. Because their kids want to know--what are the Hunger Games? Strong disconnect; kudos if you sense it. Katniss has detached herself from the past. That's the only way she can move into the future. Burden Bright: Category: PJO Plot: They find each other by accident and cling by circumstance. He is her rock to lean on but he feels so helpless. One-shot. AU. Because child abuse is freaking stupid and everybody needs somebody. Operation Restoration: Category: PJO Plot: Daughter-fic from Burden Bright;explores further into the complexity and constant mental-battle of being a bystander to child abuse. Finished. Daughter's Lament: Category: PJO Plot: Granddaughter-fic from Burden Bright; snippets of Annabeth's thoughts and feelings throughout her adopted life. I'm... I'll get around to it. Requiem For a Family: Category: PJO Plot: In which Annabeth refuses to take their crap anymore and Percy holds her together for it. It was extremely fun to write. Legit. New! Gratified Category: Once Upon a Time Plot: It's really just a series of AU Captain Swan one-shots, drabbles, ficlets, whatever. In short, it's a Captain Swan dumping ground. And it is so much fun (for me) |
