So, after an extended hiatus, I have come to the decision that I will no longer continue writing fanfiction, or at least on a regular basis; updates will be few and far between, if at all. University life is too hectic and does not allow for it, and besides this I have moved on to other projects, namely original fiction and poetry (both of which I hope to see published someday!).

I have a great appreciation and love for fanfiction, both for its charm and for all that is has taught me about the craft of writing--and especially (I do not exaggerate) how it has shaped me to become the person that I am today, with all my hopes and dreams and foolishly naïve optimism, which I hope I will never relinquish. Without fanfiction, I would not be a writer, and if I were not a writer, I'm not quite where or what I'd be at the moment--certainly not here, not this.

This isn't goodbye to fanfiction; it's secured itself too rigidly in my heart for me to say that. But it is a goodbye for now. As for my unfinished stories: I apologize. I never wanted to be that fanfic writer, the one who walks way when things are just beginning to get good--but it happened, it seems. I can only strive to come back and finish them someday, because these are stories I want to tell.

Thank you so much to the loyal readers, and just as much to the fantastic writers and friends that taught me much, and gave me stories to cheer my heart galore. You made it worthwhile.

Yo, there. I'm Youko-Kokuryuuha (though I prefer to go by Koky), a writer in the making. Which, I suppose, should be fairly obvious. Anywho, I guess this is the part where I tell you all about me, yes?

I am eighteen, world-hungry, and currently suffering the throes of college in New York City (which is just as fantastic as they say it is, I'll admit).

I'm an avid music fan; you could say it's my own personal drug. My ipod goes with me everywhere, because music goes hand in hand with writing and painting and all those other artsy-things. I love hip-hop, pop, classical, alternative rock, jpop, and r&b.

(Lil Wayne and Paramore and Utada Hikaru and Edith Piaf, oh my!)

I am obsessed with reading; partially because of an epiphany I had and partially because of Romanticism. One day, when I'm all old and wrinkly and can't remember to get up and go use the bathroom in time, I'll kick back in a cottage that has a perfect view of grassy fields, a grape vineyard, and a beautiful sunset--and I'm going to read, dammit.

Easily infatuated. I fall for girls hard and fast and then forget about them in a few months. I hope I'll kick the habit one day, but for now it's just good to be a young fool in (and out of) love.

If you're ever looking for me, you can find me at the movies...or the GA (Genesis Awards, that is). Great place to be a Final Fantasy fan, or, really, a writer in general. And a good person, too.
