Planete Fantome chapter 1 . 2/22/2016 "... if there was one thing he knew, it was corpses on the battlefield." That part shows perfectly both Nico's nature and state of mind. (Plus it's very well... balanced I guess. I didn't copy the first part because I'm lazy, but you managed to maintain a conversional tone while writing neatly built sentences.) I found Sally very touching in this story, and it was really interesting to read her try not to act like a mother! Now I'm hungry |
mamalisette chapter 1 . 6/19/2015 I about died - or hyperventilated or something. Seriously, I had tears rolling down my cheeks, slapping the floor, and cackling at the conversation between Nico and Sally about breakfast options. This is absolutely perfect, characterization, everything. And it is so chock full of fantastic lines! The first one that really hit me was where he went to pull another leaf off the plant and it stabbed his hand. And Nico's cereal statement! Honestly, keep up the great work - and maybe consider doing some original stuff. You've got the makings of an author. |
Volvulus chapter 1 . 3/24/2015 You wrote a very good story. One question however, what DID Sally put on Nico's toast? |
ScoIndRefNo chapter 1 . 9/18/2014 That is awesome and awesomer thank you :) |
Geek Without Glasses chapter 1 . 7/24/2014 Wow! I really, really like this! Great job! |
DarkHorseBlueSky chapter 1 . 9/21/2013 Yeah, that reviewer was right. PWP –– two options here: Porn Without Plot, or Plot? What Plot? –– did kinda freak me out at first, but I was like, you know what, I've read this guy's stuff, he's not that type. Plus, a Nico/Sally pairing would be beyond revolting. I'm glad I did read this; I've been having a not really good day and this just cheered me right up and gave me that nice warm and fuzzy feeling. :) Thank you. I'm officially favoriting you. |
alwaysfor3v3r chapter 1 . 8/9/2013 Aw this is sweet. I really love the way you wrote all the characters; Nico and Sally were characterized perfectly. I've always felt really bad for NIco, I feel like of every single character in PJO he's lost the most, especially because he has no family and no friends apart from Percy and Annabeth, who only halfheartedly trust him. Anyways, I really liked this! |
LittlePlagueSpirit chapter 1 . 4/29/2013 Fantastic! It's such a simple scene without a whole lot of action, but it's amazing in its simplicity. First of all, I loved how you payed so much attention to the scenery. Your words described beautifully the whole place, from little things like the sky changing from night to dawn to the appartment and the kitchen itself. Secondly, you handled Nico's pain so well. It isn't as fresh and painful as ten years ago, but it's still there and it hurts and itches like an old wound, never completely healing. That's how old pain of loss feels, and you make us feel it too. But most of all: you got Nico, Sally and Paul (and even Percy) down on the dot. Nico is the stubborn young kid who doesn't likes to open up to people and who doesn't like talking about his feelings, but at least has grown more used to living among the living. Sally is maybe not really permitted to be a mother like she used to, but she still is as stubborn and caring as she was when Percy was 12. Paul is still as carefree and happy as he was when he found out the gods were real, even if he probably saw a lot more painful things since he found out about the secrets of the greek world 5 years ago. And reading about Percy swearing like a sailor when Nico drunk called him in the middle of the night is a hilarous and very in-character thing for him to do xD. They all act like themselves no matter how many time has passed, and I'm squeeing with delight about that. All those things together make a simple scene like this buzzing with life and beauty thanks to your eye for detail, character and humor despite Nico's pain of a dead relative. It's utterly amazing and fantastic how you did it and I promise you to re-read this story a lot more times, because it's really an example for me and other writers who want to learn how to write better. |
omega2199 chapter 1 . 4/14/2013 I LOVE this! It's hilarious and not out of character! Not to mention it somehow manages to touch on deep subjects at the same time! You should be very proud. Keep writing, -Om |
silverballs chapter 1 . 4/2/2013 Love it! |
icesong180 chapter 1 . 1/16/2013 that was really cute! there's no stories about sally and nico's relationship, but this is really good! :D |

Lemon-Made chapter 1 . 8/15/2012 Yeah, go Sally, making Nico eat breakfast. Great story, even if there wasn't a plot, it was organized and excellent. Loved it |
