Author has written 74 stories for Stargate: SG-1, Supernatural, Numb3rs, Dark Angel, and House, M.D.. "Disclaimer: Absolutely no copyright infringement whatsoever is intended from these stories..." Before we begin I feel compelled to clarify the Dean and Sam you will encounter in my 'Supernatural' stories are the Dean and Sam from series 1-5 and series 10-11. I'm afraid for the better part of a decade I could hardly recognise the brotherly relationship I'd loved since ten minutes into the Pilot, despite the best efforts of the actors. I'm a little sad too, every time I read online the newer 'fans' gushing about it being brilliant as it is now whilst dismissing Dean and Sam, as if they aren't the true heart of the whole thing (or should be). So I'm more relieved than disappointed it is finally coming to an end with series 15. For me personally, it feels long overdue. On a more positive note after all that grumbling, I would like offer a very big 'Thank You' to anyone who has ever sent me a PM or continues to take the time to leave a review saying they enjoyed one of my stories. I really did/do appreciate it and I have fond memories of the experience and the people who were kind to me, even though I haven't posted anything since 2010. In fact to *STILL* be receiving the occasional review or notification of a story being 'favourited' - long after I stopped posting - both baffles and delights me and it will never be something I take for granted. I continue to be an avid reader so in lieu of anything new from me, you might like to peruse my 'Favourite Stories' list instead; I always make sure to add any brilliant, in-character stories I stumble across. I also don't favour Death fics or non-canon Slash fics, however there will be some containing Slash set in those universes where that relationship *is* canon (for example Alec and Magnus in 'The Mortal Instruments' books/'Shadowhunters' TV series). Oh but before I go, I simply must recommend the 2019 'Good Omens' mini-series. I have never seen a book adapted so faithfully, so wonderfully, and as a fan I was utterly delighted with it. It has warmth, humour, action, terrific acting (particularly from the two main characters), an engaging story, and leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy long afterwards. It was made with love and it really shows, so please do seek it out; I can pretty much guarantee you won't be disappointed :) Below then are my favourite TV programmes, films, and books. You’re depressed. You’re stuck up. You’re judgmental. When others can’t read us, they write their own story—not always one we choose or that’s true to who we are." (Sophia Dembling) "It is said that your life flashes before your eyes just before you die. That is true, it's called Life." (Terry Pratchett) "Some humans would do anything to see if it was possible to do it. If you put a large switch in some cave somewhere, with a sign on it saying 'End-of-the-World Switch. PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH', the paint wouldn't even have time to dry." (Terry Pratchett) "Goodness is about what you do. Not what you pray to." (Terry Pratchett) “...inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened” (Terry Pratchett) "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" (Edmund Burke) "The best fantasy is written in the language of dreams. It is alive as dreams are alive, more real than real … for a moment at least … that long magic moment before we wake. Fantasy is silver and scarlet, indigo and azure, obsidian veined with gold and lapis lazuli. Reality is plywood and plastic, done up in mud brown and olive drab. Fantasy tastes of habaneros and honey, cinnamon and cloves, rare red meat and wines as sweet as summer. Reality is beans and tofu, and ashes at the end. Reality is the strip malls of Burbank, the smokestacks of Cleveland, a parking garage in Newark. Fantasy is the towers of Minas Tirith, the ancient stones of Gormenghast, the halls of Camelot. Fantasy flies on the wings of Icarus, reality on Southwest Airlines. Why do our dreams become so much smaller when they finally come true? We read fantasy to find the colors again, I think. To taste strong spices and hear the songs the sirens sang. There is something old and true in fantasy that speaks to something deep within us, to the child who dreamt that one day he would hunt the forests of the night, and feast beneath the hollow hills, and find a love to last forever somewhere south of Oz and north of Shangri-La. They can keep their heaven. When I die, I’d sooner go to Middle Earth." (George R. R. Martin) "Writers aren't exactly people...they're a whole bunch of people trying to be one person." (F. Scott Fitzgerald) "The enemy isn't men, or women, it's bloody stupid people and no one has the right to be stupid" (Terry Pratchett) |
