Again, such a good story ! I am waiting for the next one !

I was so happy to find fanfic for Houdini and Doyle and this one was lovely. The friendship between the two was definitely my favorite part of the show. I was crushed when it was cancelled. It's nice to see it survive here!

I loved the programme and in particular Houdini and Doyle, so I was sorry it was given such a short-lived run. Having had little luck finding any (decent) fanfiction I was delighted to come across your story and it didn't disappoint.

You captured them both - and Adelaide - absolutely perfectly; I could see and hear them in my head while I was reading. You also did a brilliant job of filling in the blanks and expanding what we got to see onscreen. I really appreciated that, especially when it came to the parts like the death of Houdini's Mother and the after-effects of their trip abroad which I'd always wished to see in more depth.

The friendship between Houdini and Doyle leapt off the page yet never felt over the top or out of character. Likewise their relationship with Adelaide also felt very real and it was a nice touch to get her insights from the journal entries.

I could have quoted so many parts as favourites and in the end it's hard to choose just a few. One which did make me chuckle though - whilst also going "Aw" - was Doyle's dry comment about not remembering adopting Houdini after Adelaide informed him that Houdini clearly sees him/them as family.

In fact I loved all of the quiet moments between Doyle and Houdini. It was really touching how well they know one another and how Doyle tries (sometimes in vain) to protect Houdini, even when it's only from himself. Likewise we get to see another side to Houdini when he's 'looking after' Doyle in his own unique way. You masterfully captured their dialogue in all those scenes, particularly the way they switch between humour/teasing and genuine affection as evidenced in those final lines.

I really, really did enjoy this :)
