reviewer chapter 1 . 10/28/2018 That was great! I love how each memory was written out, Wanda's strength is really admirable in this story. Thank you for writing this! |
PrincessStarberry chapter 1 . 8/5/2018 Wow, this is so intense-everything from panic to horror to great sadness to a sense of peace-I think my heart my explode now! |
Meldiriel Erulisse chapter 1 . 2/9/2018 This is by far the best Avengers story I have yet read. Well done. Please write more. |
SupernaturalGeek chapter 1 . 11/17/2016 That was absolutely beautiful. I'm sure when we next see Bucky and Steve there will, sadly, be nothing like this onscreen; either they'll skip the waking/de-programming thing entirely or it will be nowhere near this good. You did a marvellous job with everyone's voices and characters, most of all Steve and Bucky (although Wanda would be close second). The emotion of every scene leapt off the 'page' and was utterly compelling, to the point I was almost as tense as those involved when Wanda finally navigated Bucky's mind. What I loved most though, aside from the fact the bond Bucky and Steve share shone like a beacon throughout, was the fact you managed to seamlessly blend some humour into the understandably angsty story. That again felt completely true to character. I'm delighted it worked out eventually and even more so that it was a memory of Steve, in fact Steve himself, which was able to fix that final (worst) trigger. I would expect nothing else from these two :) I have so many favourite lines I could copy and paste the entire thing. Bucky threatening to knock out the teeth of the next person to call the test a success is one, because it was a nice glimpse of the real him amidst all the brainwashing, Steve's "A lot more times than you have, Buck" when Bucky questions how many times he has to hurt him before he'll realise he's not worth it (because it's both touching and heart-breaking), Wanda hoping there were less trigger words than she was remembering after dealing with that first one, and T'Challa threatening Steve with a restraining chair if he doesn't stop pacing. But I think in the end I'll go with an image rather than a quotation, one which stays with you and leaves behind a delightful warm feeling; Steve and Bucky hugging, both in the memory that finally freed him from Hydra's conditioning and in the present now he - and Steve - at last have a chance to live the lives which were taken from them. You really did capture the brotherhood and friendship these two share and gave us a glimpse of what *should* happen after the end of 'Civil War', even though the powers-that-be will no doubt take a different route. Bravo! :) |
seductiveturnip chapter 1 . 10/26/2016 this was absolutely wonderful! i adored how you planned out the meanings of the words, especially the one-nine-seventeen, i never noticed that but that was brilliant! and how wanda navigated his memories, sometimes it was so creepy and then heartbreaking i adfgh and then "i died here" jesus my heart i'd love to see more from you about bucky, and maybe more interactions with wanda, considering how intimately she probably knows him now ahaha |
insecurefangirl1944 chapter 1 . 9/23/2016 I cried a lot during the memories part. The section with his mom, oh GOSH. I'm still crying. Loved Wanda. Great characterization on everyone. Thanks. The hugs were great. |
ThaliaGrace318 chapter 1 . 6/30/2016 Wow! Just wow! Very emotional. Love the look into Bucky's mind and Wanda's powers. Please write more :) |
gracedreamcloud chapter 1 . 6/27/2016 This is beautiful |
Darth Claire chapter 1 . 6/26/2016 Great fic. I really liked your concept of Bucky's mind and the meaning of the trigger words and Wanda was well used. The idea that Freight Car didn't need any manipulation seems quite appropriate. Thanks for hugging Bucky. |

Great story telling and the angst is pitch perfect...pinterest is full of the Russian and English words now. The memory that never was...cool! The unsullied memory.. nice use of repeat negative. Ah just loved it. The story was tight, the language was fluent and the speaking patterns were believable. It was great to have a follow scene from caw and it was great someone tackling Romania! airangel85 chapter 1 . 6/6/2016 This was awesome! The ending really does feel like a hug for Bucky. I soooo hope they used that scene to set up Bucky being in Black Panther! |
stars90 chapter 1 . 5/31/2016 Beautiful work. Absolutely beautiful. It was a great thought to use Scarlet Witch's mental powers as a way to cure him. And the work itself was powerful. |
NESSAANCALIME6913 chapter 1 . 5/22/2016 On youtube there is a video called "winter soldier ready to comply (civil war)" it has the words in it and you may need to listen to it a few times but the russian spelling is there as well. Also I would love to see a follow up or a short story of Bucky and Wanda following this. |
Guest chapter 1 . 5/21/2016 One of the best Captain America stories I've read. Thank you! |
