I do not write romance very well, so I tend to stick to family relationships and friendship between characters. I have very definite ideas about what should have happened in all of the above universes, and it's my mission to make sure it's recorded somewhere! It should also be noted that I tend to have long gaps between updates; I am very busy with college and writing an original fantasy novel.

Once, many years ago,
I came upon a child,
kneeling at the side of the road,
her face pressed to the ground.
“What, child, are you doing here?”
I asked the huddled girl,
“Surely your mother is missing you,
while you lie here on the ground?”
“Oh, good sir, I beg you, please lend me your aid.
My mother is no longer here,
she’s lying in her grave.”
I plucked the child up from the ground, and off we went to town.
She led me to a broken shack
within a manor’s grounds.
“Good sir, please help, my father’s ill, I cannot shake him ‘wake.
My mother was the same way,
until I was too late.”
I went into the humble shack
and therein saw a man
lying on his sick-bed,
a fever on his brow.
I tended the sick man all through the day and night,
a wet cloth in one hand,
his daughter’s hand in mine.
When next he woke,
the fever broke,
and I readied to go my way.
I was stopped with a hand outstretched,
and a question in his eye.
I told him how his daughter found
me as I traveled by,
and begged of me my aid,
without which he’d surely have died.
He looked at me so oddly,
and proceeded to explain,
“My daughter died six years ago, from this very day.
She collapsed beside the westward road, and never woke again.”
I, shaken, traveled on my way,
and in each town did find
a warm meal and a soft bed
awaiting me every time.
As I wondered in my mind,
what fortune attended me,
I saw a flash of green
and heard a lovely laughing voice
call out my name in glee.
Now I tell this wondrous tale
in every tavern and inn,
in hopes that I will one day see
the Peridot Shade again.
