NEWS UPDATE: 12/28/2015 Hi everyone, it's been a while since there's been activity from me, and as I continually check my email, I see that my new and old followers have noticed and pointed it out to me. Since the end of my senior year in high school and the craziness of college rolled around, I haven't had as much time or heart to continue writing fun or personal things, mostly fanfiction, new and old. It makes me feel terrible because I know how it feels to want a story to be updated after a long absence. To be completely honest with you all, I don't know how long it'll be before I start up with consistent writing again, and even then my writing has never been consistent. I'll do my best to finish what I can, but it'll come slowly. I hate to consider it, but I might have to drop off one or more of my pending stories until I can finish it all or change its plot to something that flows easier. I don't know. I hate to think of it because I want to finish what I've started. Anyway, I wanted to write this down in my profile as an update for what has been going on and what will be in the near future. I, again, give my deepest apologies, especially for the stories that are only 2 or 3 chapters long, and a few years hiatus. With the week I have left of break I'll do what I can to work on them. Thank you to all of you who follow and favorite my works, and who have persisted with me despite the constant flakiness. You are my light to keep pushing through the fog. -DMRA NEW NEWS UPDATE: 4/22/2019 Ouch...it's been four years. I can't begin to explain how things have been during my time in college, how every time I've had fic ideas they die on my Google Docs pages, and when I look at my old hiatus creations there's hardly anything to kickstart them again. I decided to get a double-writing major, one focused in Fiction Writing and the other in Professional/Technical Writing so...that's a lot of writing. And not a whole lot of fun writing either. It made sitting down even considering to do something fun like fic-writing absolutely exhausting. I know there's absolutely no obligation for me to do jack squat since no one (besides the unfortunate few) gets paid for their fan creations, and there's no grade being put on them to decide anyone's future. We do this for fun, and we have mutual respect for these properties and the wonderful ideas that pop into our heads that we share with each other. I look back on my creations and know they're not really the best I've done, at all, but they were an important step on my journey to becoming a better writer and consumer of media. People still, for whatever reason, like reading and favorite-ing my completed and hiatus-ed fics, and that means a lot to me. I don't know if I can promise I'll ever finish everything I've left on hiatus. I'm graduating college (yikes) on the 28th, and I'll have to look for a job (double yikes), and that likely won't leave a whole lot of room to breathe new life into extremely old projects whose sources I haven't been as much a part of since I originally posted them. And, telling the truth, I've read some absolutely incredible fanfics in the past four years-- things I'm so in love with that rival the source materials for my affection. I don't have that belief in myself to do the same thing. I will absolutely be a cheerleader for others, but when it comes to myself and my own work, I don't see what anyone else may see. And trying to start up writing fics again only to stumble and back away once more will just keep pushing that negative self-image further into the light. I really do love and appreciate all of you, but I'm afraid I won't be able to create definitively for a while. Maybe the universe will prove me wrong, but I can't make any promises. My profile has remained relatively untouched this whole time, and as much as I remember pouring my whole heart and soul into it, I know it can't stay. It only serves as a reminder of my past self, who was more sure of herself than I am now. I'll keep it somewhere, in a document, but I need to change it to reflect more of the present. With all due respect, and all my heart -DMRA Welcome to my profile, dear reader or curious Fanfiction dot net explorer. As of now, it serves more like a museum than an active registry of stories being updated, so if you like, please feel free to peruse the written exhibits. My name--at least here and on an equally defunct Deviantart account-- is DarkMousyRulezAll, or DMRA. I used to be, and still am, a large DNAngel fan but not so much anymore to keep that moniker forever. I do have a tumblr (crystal-lillies) and while I'm still flaky, I'm much more active there in discussing fandom-related things. I joined this site when I was in middle school, and the writing will clearly show that-- forgive me, I know how extra it reads. My first and longest completed work for a while was my Teen Titans fanfiction "Return of the Nightmare" and god does it make my blood curdle anymore. Every trope in the book from self-inserty author's notes, terrible cliffhangers, inconsistency in and out of universe, swearing to be edgy, the list goes on and on. But I was proud of it at the time, in my first years of high school. The first time I'd ever finished something so large. That wouldn't happen again until I got into Marvel, and decided I'd write a self-inserty character into The Avengers and plan to continue that character's journey into other universes. "Avenger'd" took until the end of my senior year of high school to finish, right before Age of Ultron came out. It was a little better than RotN, but still had plenty of inconsistencies and other terrible choices that I look back on and regret. Everything inbetween, from oneshots to attempted and unfinished multi-chapter works have marginal levels of success in my eyes, and might-- universe be willing-- have a chance at redemption. But, only time will tell. For now, dear reader, I let you decide what you think. My work is out here for you to view, and hopefully learn from should you be a writer yourself. Gender: she/her or they/them Birthday: December 15 I have a TON of favorite cartoons, anime, video games, live action TV shows, movies, books, comics, manga, and anything from basically any form of fiction able to be consumed. If you ever want to know the specifics, feel free to PM me and I will gladly paste the monstrosity of content that used to fill up this page, and more based on my current habits. Below, my past self made a list of OCs and the stories they appear in. All of the stories, aside from Avenger'd, are on hiatus with no foreseeable end. In the event that their stories do continue, I may update this list. It remains here (mildly edited) for archival purposes only. MY OC(s) (in order of story age): Charles "Charlie" Treskidd/SharkWolf: The protagonist of GHOSTS! (Danny Phantom) and its possible sequels. Charlie is 17, as stated in the first chapter. Electra Attoms: The protagonist of Are Clowns the Ultimate Nightmare? (Ben 10) and its possible sequels. Unlike Charlie, however, Electra is more of a side-character or co-protagonist to Ben. Unstated in the story yet, Electra is 11, turning 12. Her last name is also unstated. Ryuo: The protagonist of Experiment (Pokemon Colosseum). Ryuo is a re-brand of "Wes" of the Colosseum game, and is considerably younger. Ryuo was an orphan, growing up in the slums of The Under. He was taken in for a new Cipher experiment (Experiment X) to create a shapeshifter with the DNA of all known Pokemon (at the time 386). This makes him very scared of everyone who worked on him, except for Chiosu, a female researcher with a soft spot for the boy. As Pokemon, Ryuo can use telepathy to communicate with people he trusts. He ages as the story goes on. Researcher Chiosu: A woman researcher for Cipher, in her late 20s, and the co-protagonist. A cold, distant woman, who stays firmly detached due to reasons unexplained, feels a strong maternal bond for Ryuo and opens up a sympathetic side of her she forgot she had. She vows to keep Ryuo as safe as she can, knowing personally the cruelty of the organization. She acts as interpreter to Ryuo's telepathy. She owns two unmentioned Pokemon. Researcher Roland: A younger researcher, possibly in his late teens, early twenties, and an antagonist. He's a whiz at mechanics and Pokemon statistics. He often forgets about Ryuo's humanity, only wanting to fully immerse himself in the experiment. He is hiding a dark secret, though, about his plans for Ryuo and he intends to let his superiors in on his idea as soon as possible. He uses lab Pokemon to battle. Head Researcher Pheon: Head of the West Under Sector of the Shadow Pokemon Lab, and the secondary antagonist. The Under Sectors of the SPL are ones that are not "in game" so their fates I will leave for now, up to reader imagination, until I update that part of the story. His ultimate goal is to become a Cipher Admin along Ein. He owns a Wobuffet and other unmentioned Pokemon. Victoria "Tori" Matthews: The protagonist of my self-insert stories titled with a ('d)at the ends, the first being Avenger'd (Avengers/MCU). This girl is downright strange, but you wouldn't know it if you saw her unless you lived in another universe. In her world, she's a perfectly average person, albeit wishing she were something more. Unknown to her, for a while, she possesses a tremendous power that cannot be manifested in her world, but can be in others. It is because of this power that she gets thrown into zany adventures filled with danger and wonder. Age (in story continuity, even if not published yet): 13 (Lyoko'd), 15 (Titan'd), 16 (Avenger'd) (17 in the non-sequitur Avender'd Yuletide Interlude) 9 (Bus'd, explained in story), 17/18 (Merlin'd), 14/15\\17/18 ('Mon'd, explained in story) Hair Color: Honey Eye Color: Hazel Hobbies: Drawing, writing, singing, playing the piano, swimming Recurring Occupation: Lifeguard (General) Story Continuity: 1. Lyoko'd- (undergoing reconstruction from its god-awful status, and changed to suit continuity) 2. Titan'd- (pending/planning) 3. Avenger'd- PUBLISHED AND COMPLETED 4. Bus'd (writing) 5. Merlin'd (pending/planning) 6. 'Mon'd (pending/planning) 7. Sherlock'd (pending/planning) 8. Class'd/Past'd (pending/planning) Each one of these ideas does not conform to the same story structure, as each one will be attuned to the universe it happens in. Some may be longer and some may be shorter than others. Tori Matthews may also pop into other stories as a fourth-wall-breaking mischief maker, aware of all of her abilities. This does not coincide with this story continuity and is purely for entertainment (and because I'm a bit lazy) I, DarkMousyRulezAll, do solemnly swear to review all the fics I read, regardless of the number of reviews, its age, or anything else. I have joined the review revolution. Copy and paste into your profile to pledge and join the review revolution and spread the wave! One last thing before I leave you go: thank you, and please do have a wonderful day. I wish you the best. With all due respect, -DMRA |
