Reviews for The Reins of Power
Guest chapter 3 . 12/18/2017
I really like the tone of your writing! You pay attention to the way people talk- like contractions when they use Bree accents- a lot like JRRT did
ksecc1 chapter 1 . 1/10/2017
I love your stories about the time in between the plot in the books. Thanks for writing this.
PSW chapter 5 . 8/20/2016
I liked this - very nice. Aragorn had a long way to go to grow into the man we see in LOTR. He could not have done so without many difficult choices - some of which he might never know if they were 'right'. And that's part of maturing too...

In another note - I've never really thought about it, but it *would* be difficult for Aragorn to really make friends, wouldn't it?

Thanks for writing!
Kath chapter 5 . 7/29/2016
Thoroughly enjoyed tgese 5 chapters!
You really bring the young and not so young Aragorn to life, and get inside his head.
Can't wait to read mire of your wonderful stories.
Thank you
Kath chapter 1 . 7/29/2016
Love this young 'green' Aragorn! Looking forward to reading the other chapters.
Laerthel chapter 3 . 4/23/2016
This is a wonderful story, and feels very real, with amazing characterisations and the perfect amount of drama... honestly, it just feels so right. Thank you for the experience.

"Young enough to be a fool, but old enough to know it" was perhaps my favorite line... :)
wotumba1 chapter 5 . 12/20/2015
now he is truly at home in the north...

great story, love it!
wotumba1 chapter 2 . 12/20/2015
hard decision... but ultimately the right one
LadyOfAnfalas chapter 5 . 5/23/2015
This was an absolutely amazing story. I honestly think it was the second best fanfic I have read. Literally everything you said seemed seemed plausible, making it an awesome gap filler and explanation of motives. Your Aragorn really felt in character the whole time; I usually hate stories where he angsts over who he is but what was in this story felt very natural. Thank you so much for this exceptional story.
Pol chapter 5 . 4/12/2015
Gah, I love this story.
Tysan chapter 2 . 3/1/2015
I enjoyed the character of Berenor, and how both his and Aragorn's doubts are revealed. The pair of friends really highlight how rootless Aragorn feels.

I like seeing Halbarad as not a peer yet, but a hero worshipping boy.
Tysan chapter 1 . 3/1/2015
So Halbarad's father is the first ranger we meet, not Halbarad himself? I like it. Aragorn's musings on wisdom and how he at least recognised that he doesn't have much is cleverly done. As is the contrast between men and elves.

I'm always facinated by hints of the Dunedain psychic powers, it makes sense that they would be used in this way. There definetely seemed something supernatural about Aragorn's ability to hide from Butterbur in the books. Its funny that in this case they revealed Aragorn to Halbarath.

It speaks well of Aragorn that he sought out the Dunedain alone, rather than be escorted by Elrohir and Elladan.
shadowbride chapter 5 . 2/16/2015
Amazing. I really felt your story and your very reflective Aragorn. Thank you for revisiting these stories. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work now.
sian22 chapter 5 . 9/26/2014
The writing in this series is simply awe-inspiring..so many brilliant vignettes, leaps, observations and crucial links delivered without the reader feeling they are being lead.
thank you so much.
VorpalSward chapter 5 . 5/20/2014
I am so grateful you revisited these stories. So much of what I love and respect about Aragorn is embodied here! Thank you.
