Hermione has fought inequality her whole life but some prejudices run so deep that even defeating Voldemort is not enough to overcome them. The final battle has left Harry and Hermione facing the greatest challenge of their lives, one that tests love and friendships to the limit. This is a slow burn H/Hr story set Post Book Seven, ignoring epilogue.

This story starts at the end of Harry's third year, and continues thru his seventh. There is action in many of the chapters, but I believe the overwhelming focus should be the main characters. I'm trying to write about a realistic and honest relationship between Harry and Hermione, that in turn, will change everything, from the Triwizard Tournament to the downfall of Voldemort.

When Harry panics about finding a dance partner for the Yule Ball, McGonagall takes charge...

Being a parselmouth, Harry is hired by all of the Dragon Sanctuaries. His new job: to travel the world, check on all the dragons, talk to them and learn about them. The dragons have also heard of Harry's talent - as an artist and they can be pushy about having their portrait painted. With dragons, magizoologists and shades of Dark Lords after him, Harry's life is anything but dull.

What if Hermione told the truth about why she was atacked in first year?

Having been treated as a servant his entire life, Harry is more sympathetic when Dobby arrives, avoiding Vernon's wrath and gaining a bit of freedom. That freedom changes his summer, his life, and the world forever. A very long character-driven story that likes to play with canon.

Harry learns before second year that he can speak Parseltongue and he has a rather disturbing inkling of why; Regulus remembers how much family means to him; Sirius enters fatherhood, trying to leave his demons behind him. My first attempt at writing. When Harry's name comes out of the Goblet of Fire Dumbledore gives him a choice. Either participate in the tournament or lose his magic and leave Hogwarts. After the disastrous events at King's Cross Station at the end of Harry and Hermione's second year, Harry's been expelled from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and is now on the run. Hunted by the Ministry of Magic and Albus Dumbledore alike, Harry must somehow learn to survive alone while at the same time continuing his magical education.

Sure the story of Deathly Hallows is great but what if Harry and Hermione finally got sick of Ron leaving them. This is my Harry/Hermione version of Deathly Hallows from the morning after Ron left on. Enjoy.
