![]() Author has written 5 stories for Harry Potter. Hello all, UPDATE May 2018:Hello there. It has been a while since I've been here and spoken to anyone. I could explain how life has taken odd turns for me the past few years, but instead I'll just let you know that I am back to once again take to keyboard and strive to be a better writer. If you leave a review that is mildly rude and explains why you don't like my story...what's the point? Just move on and don't waste either of our time with your trolling. Now if you want to leave a well thought out and thoroughly explained response to what you believe I am doing wrong, I'll happily have a dialogue with you. My views on Harry Potter fanfiction stereotypes. Particularly those of the Harry/Hermione variety. Bashing: If you're going to bash a character, make it believable or have justification( exception is made if it is a humorous or crack fic). Most notably Weasley or Dumbledore bashing is often overdone or made to seem as if they are worse than Tom Riddle. All you accomplish by doing this is stinting your writing. It's much more interesting to give a character problems to work out. If they succeed or not is the whole point of character progression. There are of course exceptions to this rule (like stated above, but those are well written and more in tune with what I've said here). Soul-bond: I like these in moderation. The concept and logistics it encompasses are hard to do right, but I've read a few stories where it has been. Super-Harry/Super-Hermione: This is like the soul-bond. It has to be done right and explained properly. If they're godlike, what's the point of the story? Voldemort is not godlike, so how could he compete? This is not to be confused with stories where either of the two are simply more gifted than others, I believe the source material gives credit to that...to an extent. Time Travel: Love these stories when done right. Problem is I would feel an overwhelming sense of paranoia for plot holes if I wrote one. I don't plan on writing any stories with this device within them. Sex/Erotic/Smut/Lemon Scenes: I've read all ranges of sex scenes in fanfiction and in my humble opinion if you cannot write a classy/non-vulgar sex scene then you should not put it in your story(that is if you're going for a proper story, if you are just doing smut stories then it's alright). Before you scream 'Puritan' or 'Prude' please know that is not the case, i just find most do not have the ability to capture intimacy of that nature in the written word. If you have a question as to the amount I will write on this subject read the final chapter of Matchmaking Granger. TO ALL REVIEWERS: If you are going to give honest criticism, actually have the stomach to create an account and leave a way for me to reach you. I write for my own pleasure, but will listen to all criticism openly. If you flame my writing and don't leave me a way to give rebuttal (or block you) then I consider you nothing but a whiny, antagonistic prick. And from this moment forward all guest reviews will be deleted. Even if it is an amazing review with well articulated points, it will be deleted. I mean no offense, but creating an account is free and easy. Along with this I would prefer all mentions of grammatical or technical issue be sent by PM instead of review. New Self-Imposed Rules for my Writings: Due to time constraints I am not able to write on a full schedule. Because of this my writing is being spread out over my limited free hours, and priority for which story I write for is decided at the time I sit at the computer. I make no promises on when an update will be from this point forward. I do this because it is not fair to my readers, and not fair to myself. But most importantly it is not fair to the story. I cannot write to the level I aspire too if I am having trouble connecting myself to the material. So while I am always writing and adding to my stories, I will not be posting until I am happy with what is written. I'm subscribing to the old adage "If you can't get excited about your writing; why should you expect anyone else to get excited about it?" Status: A Brave New World: One month after the final battle Harry and Hermione begin a new adventure. One that will mend not only their pained hearts, but those they hold closest. Outline is finished but have not separated into chapters yet. Matchmaking Granger: Hermione Granger inherited more than just her looks from her mother. Shifting Winds: Set during the Goblet of Fire. A sudden shift in the wind changes the outcome of many things. Harry/Hermione. This just popped into my head and wouldn't stop screaming so I organized it and started writing it. Beta: Rimtuuk First Time in a While: An experimental story on my part that will alter the ending of the series. No epilogue, but nearly six years after the Battle of Hogwarts. Of Death and Fate: Another retelling of the Triwizard Tournament. Initial idea comes from a brief prompt I read a while back written by Red Jacobson on the 3 or 4 Parts Harmony Yahoo Group. During the World Cup incident Harry sees a young girl being advanced on by Deatheaters and tries to rescue her. Unfortunately he is fatally injured. He finds himself watching his own death at St. Mungos next to a tall man and goes on a small walk with three women who show him interesting things. He also sees two entwined tethers reaching out from his chest. One thing is certain Harry is very confused. This will be a Harry/Hermione/Daphne story. By that I mean a true three-way/triad relationship, not just every male's fantasy. The girls will love and interact witheach other as much as they will love and interact with Harry. (Possible) Planned Projects: These are stories or projects that I have the barest of plots written for and are thinking of pursuing in the future. The Odd Occurrences of Harry Potter's Life: This will be a collection of short (3000-10,000 word) stories that MAY OR MAY NOT be interconnected(clarification will be given). They will focus on odd moments in Harry's life after the war. Most will more than likely be humorous vignettes focusing on the constant surprises of life. It will be all Harry/Hermione with other couples, but some may focus only on Harry interacting with other characters such as Hermione's father, Slughorn, Teddy, Molly, etc. Reintroduction series and The Other Muggleborn: I was young, dumb, and had no real idea how to properly write. I may continue in future if time and muse strike. |
