![]() Author has written 15 stories for Inuyasha. I suppose I should write something about myself. I usually don't bother because fanreaders are more interested in the stories than the author. I am a thirty-something unemployed shut in, waiting for the pandemic to resolve itself so that I can change the unemployed shut in part before I'm forty-something. I have a degree in chemistry and have been writing fanfiction so long it would be impossible to pinpoint an actual starting point. It is my belief that everybody does to a certain extent whether they write it down to share or just daydream about it after finishing a good movie or book. I grew up everywhere leaving me no ONE place that I would point to for home. I learned tolerance through exposure out of necessity. Moving around as often as we did, intolerance would leave a person hanging perpetually alone because no one would be there for long. I like to observe the world around me which has often been taken for a number of character traits from shy to stuck up. One important thing to know, if you ever actually meet me, experience has taught me to treat people like window dressing. Like store front windows in the mall that change out with the seasons, that's about how often I expect the crowd around me to change. It takes a long time for me to get to a point where I believe the emotional investment is solid. Friendships will not develop quickly, I do not believe in making connections with people who aren't going to be around. Anyone who has ever made friends that were very shortly moved away or separated will understand a fraction of why. Those who have experienced it multiple times likely feel the same. This is not a campaign for sympathy, more a cautionary warning. Don't be hurt if a year or two down the line I'm still keeping you at arms distance. You still haven't proved you're going to stick around, not emotionally and not logically. Statistically, despite the stories of people keeping in touch from across latitudes and longitudes, it is not a common reality. I got into Anime - REALLY into Anime in College circa 2000. I'd been exposed to it before then (everyone has whether Sailor moon, Pokémon, Carebears, Speed Racer, or some other mutilated show run on television) but it seemingly made little impact until I saw a single badly subbed, poor quality taped from TV episode of a fairly new anime, Inuyasha. You know, the first time I saw him I thought he was a girl (I said it was a poor quality video, as in funky colors and blurry image and all)? We only saw two episodes at that time and moved on with our lives. Over the summer 2001 I read up on the show on-line and was intrigued by a guy who had a "time of the month" where he gets all moody. Then my friend started torrenting better quality episodes of the show and we were hooked. I had seen over 100 episodes from the original series before it was licensed stateside and mutilated for TV. (I hate the English dub BTW.) In 2002 I started writing my first Fanfiction for the show because there was so much there to work with (and because I was in college I very carefully learned to limit my FF input and output, degrees are expensive and they get more expensive the longer it takes to complete them). And here we are. Somewhat Happy Endings was nominated for Best Lemon in the Dokuga 2nd semi annual awards, which makes me laugh, but I'm not going to say why here. I've never aimed for the awards of any site, which kind of makes the recognition that much greater a surprise and ego stroke! I like reviews. They let me know how I'm doing in my efforts to entertain and provoke thought. When I receive no feed back, I reserve the right to assume the best! It's just best for us all around I think. However, Anonymous or guest reviews will be deleted with impunity. I can't respond to them, answer questions or offer clarity if a reviewer is not signed in. I have also received far too much abuse from rude people to continue allowing them. Try to be polite and constructive, and unless I invite suggestions over a story's direction, don't give me advice on what should happen next. I plan my stories out fairly well and generally don't start posting until I have a significant backlog of chapters. (I had over 20 chapters completed before I started posting Somewhat Happy Endings.) I give you this abbreviated outline for Chronicles of the Fall I. REALITY ON VACATION If issues arise as to the originality of some of my concepts, story ideas, characters, etc. Contact me and together we will compare dates. I keep the dates of chapters I've written start and finished. If somehow we find that I did by some accident actually take something from some other Author, I will give credit where credit is due, but I will not delete it. AS fanfic authors we can ask for no more. From start to finish we are borrowing someone else's Ideas. |
