I've teared up quite a bit Just these past chapters but... I'm sorry, everytime I read 'layer' I think of onions.

This time, they got their happy ending in the bath. _ The last two lines were great!

"Oh, by the way, I probably should have told you that you'd have a permanent mark on your face and be pregnant before it happened ... but I didn't." LOL!

Interesting little test for her. Did he also hear a voice that asked questions and tried to throw some doubt on their joining?

And there it is. Kanon's thoughts concerning why she would be a better match for Sesshoumaru than Kagome were interesting, but even if she decided she only had to wound her instead of killing her, it still seems extremely dishonorable to try to take her intended when she protected them like she did. She seemed to think awfully highly of herself to think SHE was anywhere near powerful enough to be a reasonable match for Sesshoumaru. That's actually insulting to HIM. Love the way Inuyasha spoke up for Kagome. Love the way Kagome questioned Kanon-with true curiosity and not animosity. And her question should have been a wake-up call for the other women, because if she did think Sesshoumaru would let her challenge make his decision of who he could take as a mate, she was delusional. And she continued to think herself superior to Kagome and that she understood him better just because she was also an inuyoukai. You got my blood boiling with this chapter! And even when Sesshoumaru's explained why them having hanyou children wasn't even a consideration, the woman persisted. And there was that little sad moment when Kagome wondered if that was why Sesshoumaru didn't let her being human bother him. Glad he spoke up to reassure her. Wasn't the other woman listening to him, and realizing his attachment to Kagome was genuine? And then she just attacked Kagome. SO dishonorable! And Kagome's first concern was protecting everybody else and NOT killing the woman. And, again, there is the little matter of the curse. LOL! I am dying to know what Kagon said to Sesshoumaru in inu barky language that made him even angrier. In my head, she insulted Kagome. I truly love it that Kagome walked up to him and soothed him in front of everyone. THAT should make things perfectly clear. And even after submitting, she still had the gall to question his choice by pointing out Kagome's presumably short lifespan. He should have just killed her. Did they really want that kind of stupid in the bloodline? Sesshoumaru should have denied Kagome's request to treat her wounds. Let ALL of them scar. Whew! I'm going to fume about that challenge for a while. At least both Sesshoumaru and Kagome can get on with the mating now so nothing like that ever happens again. LOL!

Another lovely chapter. It's so nice for them to get to spend some time together, ejoying the little intimacies. _ Their thoughts and appreciation of each other are very gratifying.

Kagome the peacemaker. She's good in that role. So, Sesshoumaru's father challenged Shun for the right to court his mother. I'm actually surprised he just banished Shun. I don't know exactly how you are handling a challenge like this in this story, but it could have been a fight to the death, so I'm not sure they should be so shocked that he was banished. Sounds reasonable to me. LOL! Shun was a bit of a dick to call Kagome a pet after she fought to protect him and his people. Interesting that Sesshoumaru's mother was the one to speak up for her. I liked the way Sesshoumaru took Kagome aside to comb his hair to soothe him. It would have been nice to see them do this before. Glad that the feel of Kagome's aura soothing everyone made Shun realize she is powerful and special. And he thinks she may have had something to do with changing his former love interest for the better. Nice!

I enjoyed Sesshoumaru's mother's observations of the two of them together. I was expecting a big battle with the hawks, but I guess there can be more to come. And a male inu from Sesshoumaru's mother's past! How interesting!

Glad Sesshoumaru addressed the issue with his mother already. Of course, if she HAD pushed for him to mate an inuyoukai instead, he could have told her about the curse. It wouldn't do much good to force him to take someone else since he can't bed them and sire pure-blooded inuyoukai children anyway. I love it that Kagome's education helped them determine where to look. And Inuyasha is joining them-love it!

Hmmm. I thought Sesshoumaru's mother said they were the last of the inuyoukai. So, where did the dead inuyoukai mother and child come from? I forsee some trouble ahead. If there are more inuyoukai, will his mother push him to mate one instead of Kagome? Oh, the potential angst! LOL! More signs of a growing relationship between the brothers-nice!

I love your description of Bokuseno and his importance. And now both Sesshoumaru and Kagome know how very suited they are for each other.
