Name: Classified. Level 1 knowledge of my secret identity must be unlocked before this information is achieved. Bright is my nickname. Age: 20 Gender: Female House: Hufflepuff. I'm a Pukwudgie for Ilvermorny. I am currently a Junior in college, so much of my writing is for school or on my current novel project. I have been taking serious writing classes from a published author who I deeply respect, and it has given me the confidence to work harder at my writing. Fanfiction is fun and wonderful and has its place, but I am serious about becoming a novelist. I am Christian - although perhaps not in some traditional senses of the word according to several common religions. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Several years ago I received some negative backlash from a reader of one of my stories about my faith and religion, and since then I have asked that all readers respect my beliefs just as I would like to respect theirs. We are here to write, to share our passion and skill with one another, to use our talents, not to belittle one another and tear down a person's belief in God. Love one another, whether in person or online. Favorite quotes: Percy Jackson, The sea of Monsters. "-even when your siblings simply don't appreciate that you invented the internet," "You invented the internet?" "It was my idea" Martha interrupted. "Rats are delicious" George said. "It was my idea!! And I mean the internet not the rats." Hermes said quickly. The Rangers Apprentice, Kings of Clonmel. "Oh, it's a case of they think I'll think that they'll do A, so they'll do B because I wouldn't think they'd think of that but then because I might think I know what they're thinking they'll do A after all because I wouldn't think they'd think that way."
“Gundar seemed to come to a decision. The Rangers Apprentice, The Emperor of Nihon Ja "But I wasn't happy... when I heard you two had assaulted Castle Macindaw with just thirty men,' said Halt. 'Thirty-three,' mumbled Horace... The Heroes of Olympus, The Mark of Athena Whenever Percy stopped by to see her, she was so lost in thought that the conversation went something like this: Quotes from BlatantBookworm's drabbles on her account. READ HER STORIES THEY ROCK. Window "Hey, Robin?" M'gann asked casually. "How do you see out of those masks that make your eyes go white?" "I…I'm not really sure." Robin frowned behind his glasses. He reached for his utility belt and pulled the mask out. It looked clear. "I seriously don't know." "Hey, what happens if you put it on back to front?" Wally wondered. "I mean, does it mean that you can only see the white and everyone else can see your eyes?" Robin calmly handed the mask over. Wally put it on backwards. Green eyes blinked out behind the white frames. "What do you know?" M'gann smiled. "You can see the eyes if it's on back to front…" "I can't see anything…" Wally protested. "You know," Artemis mused, swiping the mask off the speedster and passing it back to Robin. He slid it back into his utility belt. "I have the weird feeling that somehow that's breaking some law of physics or another." Superstition "Hey, Rob?" Wally asked, glancing at his friend as he searched the channels. "You're from the circus, right?" Dick automatically glanced around the rec-room to check if anyone else was there. But the cave was empty apart from them. "Uh… yeah…" "I was just wondering – did kids ever try and join you? Like, they'd say that they'd ran away from home and they wanted to join the circus?" "One did, I think, when I was six. It doesn't work like that, but. We called the police and got her sent back home." "Oh." Robin gave a slight smile as a memory came back to him. "Although I'm pretty sure my favourite threat was to run away and join a normal family." Reward "So, what exactly is your power?" A little girl who Robin had just saved from a building asked curiously. Robin gave her a grin. "Don't have one, don't need one." "Yes you do." The girl said firmly, crossing her arms and giving a pout. "Every super-hero has a power." Robin grinned again, glancing at the amused/indignant Artemis and the grinning rest of the team. "Okay little girl. How about this? You tell me exactly what my power is, and I will give you a cookie." The girl thought for a moment, before her face lit up with realisation. "Your power is the ability to be totally awesome!" Robin looked at her, and then silently reached into his utility belt and pulled out a cookie. Enthralled "Hey, where's Robin?" M'gann asked, looking around. Wally looked at his friend. He was so still that it was easy to over look him, and his eyes were locked on the moving algorithms on the computer. His fingers were the only part of him that was moving – flying across the keyboard as he hacked whatever. The speedster glanced back over at the Martian. "Cyber-space." Evaluate "What were you thinking?!" Kaldur berated Robin as he tightened the bandage. "You said that you could not disarm it. You told us to get everyone out. And you waited until we were a safe distance before placing another bomb on the bomb to blow it up first?!" "Hey, it worked didn't it?" Robin protested. "Barely." Wally groaned. "Are you freaking insane?" Robin gave his friend a look. "I named myself after a small bird and dressed in spandex, to go run around the rooftops of the most dangerous city in America, to fight insane criminal psychopaths, under the guidance of a man who dresses like a bat. You tell me." Expect "You know," Kaldur admitted to Robin as the two took a break from a sparring battle. "When I first met you, I expected you to be more…" "Serious?" Robin offered. "Grim? Forbidding? Unfriendly? Batman-in-miniature-and-unable-to-smile?" "Yes, that." Kaldur agreed with a slight grin. Robin shrugged. "What can I say? Someone in our house needs to laugh." Survey "Hate to break it to you, but I'm a lot more famous than you are." Robin said calmly to Wally as they walked the streets of Happy Harbour. "You are not. You're always in the shadows. I, on the other hand, actually turn up in the newspapers all the time." "So? I'm an urban legend that everyone's heard of." "Everyone has not heard of you." "Oh really?" Robin smirked. He walked up to a nearby couple. "Excuse me, sir, ma'am, could I have your time for just a second?" "Uh… sure…" The woman said cautiously. "Thanks." Robin grinned, sunglasses gleaming. "Could you tell me the name of Flash's junior partner?" "I…" The man blinked. "Flashboy, right?" "No, it was Speedy." The woman shook her head. "Flash Junior?" The man offered. "Thanks." Robin cut in. "And can you tell me the name of Batman's junior partner?" "Robin." The woman said without hesitation. Then she frowned. "Why?" "Just a bet between me and my friend." Robin grinned, turning back to Wally. Wally glowered as Robin cackled. "See? More famous." Name "Robin?" M'gann said casually, working on her homework. Robin glanced up from whatever he was doing on his computer. "Yeah?" "I was wondering… why did you name yourself after a small bird?" Robin considered all possible answers. He didn't want to spoil his secret identity (well, he kinda did, but Bruce would kill him)… but he didn't particularly want to lie either. "Well, Batboy sounded stupid." TEEN TITANS Familiar Starfire walked into the kitchen, and let out a yelp, flying backwards. A strange boy was sitting at the table, reading a book. "Who are you?" Starfire demanded, hands gleaming green. The boy looked up and gave her a smile that she knew well. "I know the mask was intended so you can't recognise me, but that's going a bit overboard, don't you think?" "Robin?" "Technically, it's Richard today." Gymnastic "The Olympics are on. You wanna watch?" Beast Boy asked Robin. "No thanks. Four years ago, I watched the acrobatics bit and… long story short, you can get really egotistical if you know you're better than the world's best acrobats." MY STORIES Completed Full Length Stories: Warrior from the North: My longest completed fanficton. A Redwall fic set after The Legend of Luke, where Martin the Warrior returns to the land of Noonvale. House of Hades: My second longest completed fanfiction, and by far my most read. This was the first fanfiction I ever wrote, and what spurred me onto in the first place. I read the Mark of Athena, couldn't stand the cliffhanger, and immediately started writing and posting. I finished it at my 1 year mark, right before the actual book the House of Hades was released. My fanfiction features a few OC's, and is quite different from Rick's version, but I did manage to miraculously predict a couple of things, like his use of the rivers of the Underworld. :) Merry Christmas! Or Not: Officially the first fanfiction I ever finished. I started it as a Christmas story, and quite enjoyed writing it. This was back when the show Young Justice was still going, and is a precursor to one of my currently ongoing fanfictions. Robin and Batman get into a fight with the Joker on Christmas Eve . . . . ;) Of Demigods and Magicians: Percy and Annabeth's date goes awry when they run into a pair of teenagers who can use magic. But they aren't children of Hecate, they're magicians. :) A crossover between Kane Chronicles and Percy Jackson and the Olympians, coming before Riordan wrote his own. Oneshots: And the Guilt Flew Away: A Redwall fanfiction featuring Jess Squirrel from the very first book after she was unable to save Matthias when he was fighting on the roof of the Abbey. My first ever oneshot. Over You: A request from one of the readers of Warrior From the North. A brief, sad songfic about Martin the Warrior and Laterose of Noonvale. Tar Monsters: A request from one of the readers of House of Hades. What happened in Salt Lake when Percy, Frank, and Annabeth went to get tar for Leo in Mark of Athena? Tar Monsters ;) If Only you Will Marry Me: A request from one of the readers of House of Hades. From Percy's proposal to Annabeth, to their lives as parents and them growing older, an over-view of Percabeth. I really DO have a girlfriend: A request from one of the readers of House of Hades. Leo flirts so often that his friends can hardly believe him when he insists that this time he really does have a girlfriend- that is, until he introduces her. Fire and Shadows: A request from one of the readers of House of Hades. My prompt? Leo and Nico being friends. Gods of Olympus was THAT hard to write. But I like the end result. The wedding of Columbine and Gonff: A request from one of the readers of Warrior From the North and exactly what it sounds like. The wedding of Lady Columbine, and the Prince of Mousethieves himself, Gonff. Looking in a two way mirror: A request from one of the readers of my House of Hades fanfiction. They wanted me to compare another demigod to Octavian in a fairly favorable light, and so I dove at a demigod invented by Rick's son: Alabaster. Annabeth's Last Olympian: A request from a reader of House of Hades. Annabeth's take on the last two chapters of the Last Olympian. Death Boy: A request from a reader of House of Hades. May I just be very proud for a moment that I predicted Nico's nickname? The prompt was actually Nico with a girlfriend, but this was just after I had read House of Hades (the actual book) and all inspiration flew out the window, so I settled with friendship and a relationship if you squint. I'll be home for Christmas: A Christmas oneshot set in the Marauders era of Harry Potter. Harry's first (and last) Christmas with his parents and their friends. Stolen: Royai Week 2014 day one prompt Constant: Royai Week 2014 day two prompt Whatever it be: Royai Week 2014 day three prompt (AU/Crossover between FMA and ATLA/LoK) Opportunity: Royai Week 2014 day four prompt Working Towards Conspiracy: Royai Week 2014 day five prompt (Conspiracy) Memories both Good and Bad: Royai Week 2014 day six prompt (Memories) Finally Going to Be Happy: Percy Jackson Ship Weeks 2014 week 1: Sally and Paul. The only one I actually managed to do. Carol for a Friend: Legion of Superheroes (cartoonverse) fanfiction. Brainiac 5 has left the Legion, but they can still send him a Christmas Carol. Shadows of Gotham: A request from one of the readers of my fanfic Death of a Partner, Birth of a Hero. They wanted angst, and for the Team to see what Gotham was like, so Robin had a visit from TwoFace. Never Trust a Phone Call: A request from one of the readers of Death of a Partner, Birth of a Hero. Jason may or may not have lost his phone while out of Gotham city, and someone may or may not have found it and called Bruce Wayne to ransom his son. Maybe. Till Death we are Parted: A possibly cruel FMA fanfic in which Edward realizes that instead of Till Death do you Part, for him and Winry, it's Till Death we are Parted. How to Lose your Rider: A HTTYD fanfiction. Hiccup and Toothless are separated in a storm. :) panic ensues. In progress Full Length fanfictions: Death of a Partner, Birth of a Hero: A Young Justice Fanfiction. Sequel to Merry Christmas! Or Not. Somehow Robin became Nightwing, and this is my take on how that came to pass. (Co-written with Alya Starbright) Fingerprints of Rain: Technically in a way a sequel of my House of Hades fanfiction, it is also a possible sequel to the Heroes of Olympus series. Set around 2-3 years after the war with Gaea, the Demigod camps have become intermingled. Two quests are sent out to stop the influx of monsters that hasn't been fixed since the end of the giant war. - Note, this project is on hiatus due to the sheer volume of what we've come up with. Probably it'll all get turned into an original novel with an entirely different premise someday, because it's way cool, and beyond complicated. Future Projects: (some of these are already started) Sequel to Warrior From the North: A fanfiction about Martin's last quest before he gives up the way of the warrior. Ten Years as Brothers: A Marauders fanfiction spanning their seven years at Hogwarts and beyond, although this would be the series title. Mouse Guard Summer-Fall 1153: Based on the adorable comic by David Petersen. A Natsume Yuujinchou Story: TBD A FMA story: TBD although possible an AU in which Edward and Alphonse find a way back to Amestris A Lord of the Rings story: Probably Legolas Thranduilion focused, although I can't decide where I want to start . . . And that, my friends, is a complete list of my stories so far and to come. :) I write because it is a way to speak without speaking, a way to reach without reaching, and way to cry without tears coming to my eyes. Writing is the way I am able to express myself. It clears my head. It brings me joy. Through writing I can uplift others, or I can harm them. I choose to lift. What is your choice? Read onwards! Write often! |
