Hey there!

It's a bit apprehensive, being faced with a large blank white page on my laptop screen, but I will do my best.

I am a teenage girl living in the United Kingdom. Fandoms take up a large majority of my life. I'm a complete fangirl, I must admit. I have actually been writing for over a year before I summed up the courage to get an account on here and publish some fanfics! They will almost always be LOTR fanfics, and will generally involve Legolas. I just can't keep away from that elf! Like many others, I am fascinated by what the relationship between Thranduil and Legolas would have been, as we never see it in the books. Ergo, a lot of my fanfics will be about their relationship. I do not do slash, or Mary-Sues, but most of my stories are angsty. No character deaths, though, as I try to stay close to canon in that respect.

I try not to be to AU, and it was a long time (when I was writing, but not publishing) before I created an original character. I will try to never leave a story unfinished. Please, pretty please, if you have actually bothered to read this, would you read my stories and review? It would make my day. Also, feel free to message me if you want to talk fanfics, or just plain LOTR. I think some people can't understand why we are so in love with other worlds, with worlds that may seem to only exist on paper, or on a TV screen. To them it isn't real. I think sometimes people don't realise that being so in love with a book, or a film, or a TV show hurts. A lot. We spend more time in a world that doesn't really exist than in our own world. We want to live with people who we can actually understand, in a world that we can actually make sense of. And it hurts, knowing that those worlds will never be reality. No matter how great our imaginations, it isn't reality. We can't be in those worlds that we love so much. And that hurts far more than most people understand. It is so painful, knowing that you will never be able to see Gondor, or dine in the Great Hall at Hogwarts, or ride a broomstick or visit the elves. People don't seem to realise that, when they see Tumblr gifs, and see people fangirling. They think us as silly, overexcitable people. And maybe we are. But we are also scarred, in a way. What we love screws with our emotions, messes with our heads. These worlds are too deep within us for us to let go, but holding onto them when they are not reality hurts.

But maybe they are our own worlds. Do we need them to be real, in order to love them, to live in them? J.R.R. Tolkien once said that one dream is more powerful than a thousand realities, and he may be right. I for one, would not let go of the worlds I love for anything. I can live in Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter, and all those other worlds. They may seem like they don't exist, but by God are they real to all of us. Every time we open those books, or watch those films or episodes, we are living in a whole different world, and it is ours, and it is wonderful. It is mad and it is beautiful and it is so wonderful, so very wonderful to be in a world that makes sense, that you can understand, that is so very real to all of us. Yes, it may hurt sometimes, but I know that no matter what happens, I will never let go of these worlds that I love. Not in a million years. They belong to all of us, and as long as one person, one single person in the world, believes in those worlds, they will never die.

As George R.R. Martin said, when I die, I'd sooner go to Middle Earth.
