Yo! I'm rubisora18117, or Rubi for short! I love anime, manga, video games, cosplay, drawing, writing fan fics and original stories, Pocky, Ramune soda, and yaoi. You might have met me in real life and wouldn't know. I've actually met people online first then by pure accident met them in real life not knowing who they were online. One way to know it's me is that I kinda look like a female version of Fubuki from GX with short hair for the time being (dark brown hair and brown eyes) and most likely wearing a hat unless I forget to grab one. But, half the time I'm in costume or wearing a wig for no reason.

I'm also on Gaia Online. My main acount is Rubai Sora. I've made a mule, but I will not give it out. Why? Because I want to try and keep those two accounts as separate as I can.

Not only that, but I'm on DA! So, if ya want, look at my art here! I have resently been posting some artwork. I have some pictures for some fics I will be posting. I will put them up when the time comes. I really do have stories that I will post picture for besides what would be in scraps! The current count for art for fanfics is...

FIC UPDATES!!

IMPORTANT

Okay, this should have been posted in November. But, I kept forgetting... I know, bad Rubi... I'm sure a few of you noticed that Forgotten One and Mirror Image haven't been updated in the longest time. There is a reason. My old laptop, Neko-chan, is kinda dead. I mean, the data is still good, but the screen won't work even when it hooks up to a monitor. Supposedly it's the video card. I have no clue since it was my mom who picked it up and I keep getting a different take of what happened. This was back in October. Now you might be wondering why is this an excuse as I haven't updated since June. Well, July was a bad month for me. And then I started to take classes again after 2 years in August. So, I had a dry spell for inspiration. Then Neko-chan happened just when I had inspiration.

So, here's the deal, I won't be able to update until I get the data off my old laptop because, let's face it, I really don't want to retype what I had already. I have a faint idea where I left off in both fics, but that's it. So, for the time being, I'm working on figuring out some new fic ideas (I had no clue I had so many). Only one of those ideas I'm actually starting to type out. Surprisingly, its a Vocaloid fic of all things.

Oh, yes I name my laptops! My new one is Noa! If you want a funny story, ask me what happened to my first one, Wing!

FanFic Pet Peeves

Okay, when it comes to fanfics, I don't have many pet peeves that would prevent me from reading them. Reason being is that I am sometimes guilty of these pet peeves. Here is a list of them:

-Poor grammar and spelling. I understand spell check isn't perfect and betas can miss things. It has happened several times to me where I would go back and reread some old fics. Not to mention I personally suck at spelling and abuse spell check. But, there is no excuse for bad grammar and spelling to the point I have to reread a sentence several times to figure out what you are saying unless English isn't your first language. Even then, I would still suggest getting a beta to help out.

-Random Japanese words/sentences. I am guilty of having some Japanese words in my fics, but it's no longer to the point that it is annoying. I don't want to keep scrolling to the bottom of the page to figure out what you just said. The exception to this is if you use honorifics (including sensei, sempai, etc.), addressing people (like mother is okaa-san or big brother is nii-san), a well known phrase of the person (example: Heero and his "Omae o korosu"), or cuss words. Hey, cussing in Japanese is fun! Another exception is if what was said was not supposed to be understood by the rest of the people. This goes for any language except for Al Bhed since it's more of a cipher then a true language and there are translators out there.

-OCs pairing with cannon characters. Once more, I'm guilty of doing this at times. Difference is, I no longer pair them up with the character the fic is mainly about. If you have something with a large cast, you really shouldn't have to do that. The one exception is if the OC is in a one sided relationship with the character.

-Self-insertion fics. Okay, so most of my pet peeves are stuff I do, this one is no exception. In Kitty Daze, Tori was kinda the anti-me in many ways in that she would do stuff I would never do. If I ever get around to this one fic I have planned, it will have more self-insertion then what I normally like. Difference is the characters (yes, plural) that are supposed to be me act differently. One is how I would like to act in an MMORPG, another is more of me acting like an OC I have, and the third will be more like me. In the end, they will not know everything that is going on with everybody yet still help move the plot.

-Unnecessary OOC. I try to avoid OOC unless it is within reason. Like if Kaiba is supposed to have some mental illness, have him act that way. If the fic takes place 10 years in the future (or past) of the cannon, I understand the characters might have matured then what we are used to. But, if you have a happy, non-psychotic Yami Bakura for most of the fic, you better have a good reason why or else I will stop reading right there and then! And if you do FF7 Cid in a Kingdom Hearts fic, I better see some cussing.

Rules on Pairings

As stated above, I dislike cannon characters with OCs. There is one more thing I would like to touch base on dealing with pairings. I will respect whatever pairings you may like, but I will not read fics if they suddenly become a pairing I dislike. It is not you, I just can't bare to read those pairings. Once in awhile if I'm really into a fic, I will suck it up. The only time I might dislike a pairing is if I see little or no evidence of that pairing in the cannon ever happening. (example: KaibaxAnzu or SasuSaku. I'm sorry if I offend any fans of these pairings, I just don't see it ever happening.) The exception to this is if you are retelling the cannon and the pairing is possible in that universe.
